Oh Noes! Flash will not be supported on 4.1 adobe announced. They said to uninstall it if you are upgrading because it will be unpredictable and they aren't going to support it

It doesn't hurt to try they just don't want people using it since they won't support it. Basically trials and error .

I think adobe is stupid for not supporting it anymore. Yes, html5 may be the future, but it's not the present. Chrome works for most stuff on my phone, but almost any video that I come across on any tech site or anything else I still find myself copying the link to the stock browser to watch it. It's just stupid when so much of the web still relies on flash. I have no problem with it being phased out, but they're crippling mobile browsing by not supporting mobile anymore. As soon as the next update for desktop flash comes, mobile browsing will suck until html5 is the universal standard, which it currently is nowhere near being. At least with tab syncing between mobile and desktop chrome I'll be able to find anything I need easily on my laptop, but it's still going to be a hassle. Stupid adobe, just stupid.
Back on topic, I'm excited for JB to come to the Note. I'm highly tempted to shell out 350 for a gsm gnex, but I'm sure our awesome devs will have something awesome soon enough. Until then, I'm fully satisfied with what we have already...couldn't ask for more.

You should. Been playing around with it since it became available for the Gnex. And its pretty awesome so far. But its nothing to be so excited about...other than the new Notification system...Google Now is defitinitely a must have.

Yeah, about the only thing holding me back from buying the gnex is how awesome the note is, and the fact it's likely the next nexus will be out within a year, and my note is definitely more than good enough to tide me over. I just hope Samsung wins the bid for the next one. If they do, I'll be buying the next nexus for sure as well as the note 2. What we really need is the nexus note though, I would throw my wallet and my left nut along with a contact for my firstborn child at google/Samsung for that =]. I just can't quite justify spending 350 on software, with lesser hardware, that we will eventually see for free. If not sooner rather than later.

Well, there's going to be a Note 2 later this year, and it should have similar specs to the S3 with an even larger screen than the OG Note.

I just sold my Note i717 and am happy with my decision.
However, I am one of those who was never able to get used to the immense size of the Note, so if you like the overall size of the Note (or if the overall size isn't enough of a problem to outweigh the benefits of the huge screen), then you probably will want to hold off buying anything until Note 2 is out.
From as objective a standpoint as possible though, I have yet to find any major flaws with the S3 and although I that I was just downgrading the size of the device while making a lateral software move, I was wrong; the software additions on the S3 as well as the form and function of the S3 are top notch to the point where it's almost hard to believe both phones were released in the same calendar year.
Not sure how much that helps you as it seems like so much rambling when I reread it, but.... Lol

Not sure where to put this...but here we go.
As with past devices, including the s2 skyrocket, recent tabs and orig note, I will have the chance to see, touch and play with the Note 2 well before release. Specifically Thursday.
Just as I did with previous devices I wanted to get input on questions to ask etc.
This opportunity has nothing to do with my employment at Sprint. Any information obtained is obtained through relationships prior to and outside of my employment with Sprint.
Rules apply. Basically no pics (i have been known to break this rule)

I see a lot of complaints about the screen. I'm having a hard time believing that it will not look sharper than the current note. I want a good screen comparison please.
Thanks for this:
Battery life
How it compares to our Galaxy Note, displaying a movie side by side
Quadrant and antutu (just for fun)
When does it hit at&t (I know you work for Sprint)
Can I have one now please?

Your leak on the original Note was spot on, so I'm excited to see what you dig up, even if you don't get a chance to take pics. Plus, getting hands on this early is indicative that they're already in production, which looks like Samsung is going to go with a semi-simultaneous global launch like the gs3...good news for my buddy who is converting to android for the Note 2 from his iPhone.

Supposedly the Droid Incredible X is rumored to be the Galaxy Nexus 5 and will hit Verizon soon. It sounds really impressive. But as of on the market now, definitely a Galaxy S3.

Well I'm pretty sure I may be getting HTC's first "phablet" with a leaked name of HTC DNA (others know it as a rumored name of the Droid Incredible X) when my upgrade comes in 3 weeks. That is around the time it may be released.

Okay I didn't mean that offensively, that's just my opinion, if I saw you holding a Note on the side of your head, I'd think you're a well dork, jackass, all the same.
That's just me, I mean people feel similarly about belt clips for phones, for example. Just opinion, and an opinion over the internet at that. Everyone hates you on the internet....

The only way I'd pick up another HTC device is if it were a Nexus. For the cheap way out I also vote for the GNex.

Sorry to say this but wrong on three accounts. The galaxy part of the nexus name was Samsung's idea for their version of the phone. Google wanted to call the last one the nexus prime. LG was/did get the contract for the new nexus and this one is the 4th generation nexus which would make it the nexus 4. Sorry..... Rumors have it that the new nexus may not make it to Verizon because the LG version of the phone will be on the network. From what I have read the only difference is that the nexus variant will sport vanilla android. This may not be a problem though with the hardware being the same the roms should port right over. Personally, if I were you I would go nexus. They have by far the best update rate of all of the phone available.

yeah those google updates aren't all they're cracked up to be. I've had a gnex since the day it came out almost 2 years ago and have not had a speedy update yet. My wife and I are still waiting for the 4.3 update.
I would think this thread should go in the Nexus forums?
OT: Yeah it would be cool but as others said, OTAs aren't as all as they are cracked up to be. Custom OS's (Roms) > Google Updates (OTA's)
Nexus devices on Verizon don't get quick updates. Actually, devices in general don't.
