I haven't messed around my Vibrant for ages. It's unlocked and rooted, but still running Froyo (ROM: Bi-Winning V2). Is there a simple way I can directly jump from Froyo to Jelly Bean? What custom ROM and kernel do you recommend? What recovery method should I use? Thanks in advance!

I originally had Froyo 2.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S wifi 4.0 then I flashed it with Steve's custom kernel using Odin. However after flashing the device it went on a boot loop so to fix it I had to flash with GingerBread 2.3 ROM that Steve had provided. However I would like to go back to Froyo 2.2. Is it possible to use Steve's custom kernel with Froyo 2.2?
Please advise
Im on the 9.4.2.28 stock ICS version and my JB update fails and im tired of trying so i was wondering what are the right steps to take to unlock it and upgrade to JB with custom ROM so can keep on installing JB ROMs from now on.
A semi newbie guide would be highly appreciated,
Hey everyone, as of right now, is there no way to get the CWM recovery on an S4 (AT&T) that has been updated to 4.3?
What would the process be, if possible of flashing back to a 4.2.2 rom.
I'm looking to install Cyanogenmod, but can't seem to do so, mainly because I can't get into CWM, and I have a feeling its because I'm on 4.3...
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
a friend owns a nonrooted SG2 with GB 2.3.6 on it.
Now its time to update to a Sammy based custom Rom like Biftor-Rom v14, which is based on XWMS1.
So I will flash PhilZ XWMS! Kernel via Odin on this phone.
After recovery reboot I'd flash the Biftor Rom from PhilZ Kernel.
Will that work?
Or are there other recommendations?
Yes it will work
Upgrading from a lower stock rom to higher one doesnt requires wiping data...
Hi guys. I don't have a pc near so I'm wondering if it could be possible to download a kitkat lte stock rom directly on my phone and flash it via recovery?
Jelly bean official rom would be nice too (I'm actually on liquidsmooth kitkat)
Thanks, best regards.
Unfortunately - NOT. Only OTA or Kies for stock ROMs.
If you are on KK you should forget about downgrading to stock JB lest you need new, quite expensive paper weight.
One and only exception is MegaFire ROM from @megalomanic14
