Hello. Every time I go to settings/sound/ to Phone Ringtone or Default Notification, I always get directed at my explorer. Last week, i was able to select the sound picker which let me see the other notification and other ringtones. How can I fix this? where I can have an option after clicking the Phone ringtone or Default Notification? I'd be very thankful to the people who will help me.
Here are the screenshots:
1.) Under Ringtone & Notifications
2.) Here's what it look likes after click either Phone ringtone or Default Notification, where I used to have an option like "Xperia Sounds", "Sound Picker", and etc.
Try going to settings/apps/all and find sound picker and clear defaults

quite disappointingly windows phone doesnt want to let you change sms...recently flashed Chukys rom and the dev had the sms tone changed...
was wondering was there an app/way to change sms ringtone without much bother?
Thanks
i am not sure if this is what you're looking for, but if you want to change SMS ringtone in HD2, go to settings -> Sound & Display -> Notification Sounds -> New Message and there you go. Hope this helps.
You could always navigate to Notification Settings to change your sms ringtone.
If you want a custom ringtone, place the mp3 file in 'My Ringtones' folder in your DEVICE memory, and you can select it from the same settings as above.
You can also put them in My Device/Application Data/Sounds. When you go to Sounds & Notifications they will be in the drop down menu along with the other hundred sounds I routinely delete with every ROM flash, lol.

Is there a way to set multiple notifications tones for different things text messages and a different tone for emails, ect
Go into the settings menu for any item you want to set the notification sound for. There will be a Notifications option in the settings menu for each email account, text messages, etc. where you can set the sound for each one's notification. Also, questions should go in the Atrix Q & A section.

use Light flow, not only does it allow you to set specific tones for apps that dont allow you to customize (words with friends), but it also allows you to change the LED notification color

Thanks I will give it a try but did figure out how fix my problem by using root explorer and renaming the conversation.apk to conversation.apk.bak which it uninstalls it but keeps it in the phone in case I wanna use it again by doing that it allows any other sms app to be the one and only choice to choose from so the end result is was no more double notifications sounds in my text messages so thanks for everyones help and I will check out that Light Flow app it sounds pretty good.
could a moderator move this to the correct section (Q&A) THANKS

for double notifications, you need to goto the stock sms app and disable notifications entirely.. (menu button > settings > untick notifications) then just enable them in the new sms app you use such as Go SMS Pro or Handsent
Hi all,
Just wanted to know how i can change incoming system sounds now my phone has been rooted
1) I want to be able to change SMS, Email, Alarm?
2) Wanted to know were to store/place ringtone files?
3) Does anyone know if the standard alarm have a snooze function?
After the above i want to change to custom icons
a5ian300zx
The alarm clock has snooze by default.
For my ringtones etc, I have a folder on my SD named Media and sub folders marked notifications, ringtones, alarms, wallpapers. The phone seems to be able to make sense of this and shows the alarms in the alarm clock etc.
To change ringtones etc you go into the app and press the menu button. You should be able to change the tones etc in there.
For changing ringtones and sms tones, you go into settings. (on your home screen press menu) go to Audio (or Sound/Notifications, whatever our may be) and there you'll have the options to change type ringtone and sms notifications.
Setting different tones for every audio requires you to go into that app and change the settings individually.

You need to go into each app and in the settings menu there should be an option for notifications.

Is there a way to change the default sound to something other then the pre-loaded HTC sounds? I was able to change the phone ringtone to a song on my sd card. When going to settings, phone ringtone there is a new ringtone button which let me choose whatever I want but when I go to the default sounds I do not have that option. The only option I get is, get more, which takes me to the HTC hub. I tried ringdroid and made a ringtone but it don't show up. I also installed tone picker but it doesn't show up either. Another strange thing is, I am using handcent and have a mp3 selected within handcent but when I get a text it uses the default notification instead. Anyone else having this problem?
I had similar issues. I used HTC Hub to download a new ringtone package, and found out that it just over writes everything I may have had selected.
I've had to go in and redo my ringtone and message notifications a few times, mostly after I hook it up and enable SD storage on the computer.
If I have someone call or send a text message while its hooked up as storage, it changes EVERYTHING back on mine to the stock sound settings.
Ok what i did with mine was use astro file manager to take whatever mp3s i wanted for notifications and copied and pasted them into my notifications folder which will be located in your media folder, open astro click sd card then click media then audio then notifications and paste whatever you want to hear for notifications sounds in there then when you go to your list they should show up and work like a charm.
I think I did that with a file manager and it still didn't show under Notification sounds. You need to hit set as once the desired file is highlighted and set it as a notification that way.
Use Zedge. Its a free app and you can select it as default instead of using system. Works wonders!

Menu --> Personalize --> Notification Sound
This is where you can change the default notification sound as well as the sound for the email app, the messaging app, and the calendar.
This took me awhile to figure out. A new feature of Sense 3.0. Possibly introduced in Sense 2.1. Not sure. But different than the EVO either way...

So on my old 2.3 ROM I could choose to have my phone always vibrate. Now on ICS I can't find that setting. It isn't there. Vibrate can only come on when in silent mode.
Is there any quick fix to enable this again? Or maybe an app that someone knows of?
I want this function , too
In cm9 I can just go to sound (or what ever it is in english version) and select: vibration + ringtone

Download the app "Sound manager" from the market, U can choose there for 'Vibrate settings' in the menu, and resolve that problem bij choosing VIbrate whenever possible

It's in the quick panel which you can pull down from above.Tap the sound icon and it will cycle through sound - vibration - silent - sound vibration.
Or you can download the "sound manager" . it's pretty good.
P.S: It seems every app in ICS has their own notification settings . And in default most of them are set to not to vibrate when a notification pops up.So check out apps' settings first.
