Hi folks!
I've purchased an unlocked international version of the RAZR V recently, and today received the update for Jellybean 4.1 from Motorola! Its official and adds Google Now, an improved homescreen and MUCH MUCH better performance among a host of other new features!
Attached screenshot below for verification!
I'm not sure if this is an accidental update (I know Motorola has had issues with pushing updates early in the past.), as Motorola reps told me an Update wouldn't be in the cards until late April at the earliest.

It also includes a second cumulative update which contains other bug fixes.
I've got no idea if it's live globally now, but it might be a good idea to check your phones!
Thanks for the infos
Im still waiting for this. Moto are taking their time!

Is there any hope for an update in Canada? When I go to check for updates in my settings, it says I'm up to date, but I'm still running 4.0.4!

Verizon has a handful of new updates rolling out to their Motorola product line, starting with the 6.12.173 software update for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX.The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX is a minor follow-up to the DROID RAZR specs-wise .The changelog for the update went live a few days ago and a few users lucky enough to be part of Moto’s early release program. An update is also being pushed to the LTE version of the Motorola XOOM. Users are already receiving the newest version of Android 3.2.6 for the tablet, which brings the software build to HLK75H.
Update: Verizon also has a pair of updates ready for the Motorola Xyboard 10.1 and Motorola Xyboard 8.2 that bring global roaming capabilities to the tablets, making them the first Verizon LTE devices to sport such capabilities. The update also includes fixes for WiFi/3G/4G data switching, improved touchscreen response, and browser enhancements. Owners should see the new software reach their tablets soon.
I received the update but it seems my signal is worse now. Maybe its my imagination.

My signal seems to be the same, but drops down to 3g or drops data altogether a lot more. I've seen it do it while I've been sitting on my couch not moving.

If we wanted to go back can we data wipe and not update or would we have to use a stock image to flash back?

Wiping Data will do nothing other than put your phone back to stock status, the same way as it was when you 1st bought it. If you want to go back you can use RSD Lite and the Fastboot files to go back.
The Engadget teardown of the Droid RAZR says it has an STMicroelectronics L3G4200D gyroscope and a Bosch Sensortec BMP180 barometer, yet the Gingerbread build it shipped with didn't seem to activate either. Has anyone with any of the leaked or soak test ICS updates seen them enabled yet?

this is AWSOME! there are some nice apps on market... oh yea, "play" (rolleyes) that need barometer to function. i have been dreaming this would be on my next phone, how nice it would be if we could get this activated. fm radio too...
bump. has anyone investigated? i'm GSM so all i can do now is ask...
they dont appear to be working in androidsensor
ah i just found androsensor myself in market/play. it's naturally not working in 2.3.6
apparently as OP stated there is also support for FM and I read in the bypass kexec thread that the hardware is there...now we only need someone to activate it
here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24851034&postcount=313
maybe then someone could enable the gyroscope
there is barograph app too, try that one?

barograph doesnt work in ICS either, says that my device doesnt support barometer. I don't think these chips are in here, fM included. i know that one or two sites say it is, but many more say its not.
I just checked elixir app and those sensors are disabled in ICS too.

Yeah, I think the US got this like 4 months ago. We were able to update without any problems on rooted phones.

4 months ago???? wow
App updates are fine, it's the firmware updates that you'll want to watch out for. Updating apps won't touch anything like the hboot or affect root, but firmware updates probably will.
Mine needs to hurry up and get here. Starting a few days ago when i try to go to Watch i get the message saying it needs an update. Click OK and it takes me to HTC Software Update. Check now says my phone is up to date.
Thus making Watch not accessible.
And yes i have been using it since they started the 5 cent weekend movies. Over the last 2 weeks i have paid 5 cents each for about 10 movies.
i DL them and watch them on the weekends. LOL
Luckily i found a work around, i was able to add the full screen widget and select my movies there.
Hello, I have a European RAZR Maxx with ICS, not rooted and not anything. A factory reset was done right after the OTA update a few weeks ago. Yesterday, as I was reading some news, the screen started to jitter, flickering horizontally about 5 mm. The phone was still functional, screen was responsive but it was jittery in a very upsetting way. I did a soft reset and it did not help, then I switched it off for an hour and the problem went away. It has not come back since but I am very worried. Should I send it to service? Or was it just some soft issue? I hadn't installed any app immediately before it started to happen. I appreciate anyone's opinion. Thanks!

my xt908 did this today, is yours rooted? I'm trying to figure out why also. iI think it may happen when blue tooth is on
It's not rooted. In the meantime, I think I realized it only does that when I use flipboard. I un installed it and the problem went away.

If you uninstall a program and things work ok, then its not your phone. Relax. =p
Sometimes the atualization of software bring bugs and then we tend to think its our phone. =/

This is most likely due to glitches in hardware acceleration. It is so common that some apps have an option to disable use of hardware acceleration.
Out of curiosity, what is the exact version of your firmware? MIUI, which is based on an early ICS release, displays this behavior quite frequently, whereas it doesn't show up on the final ICS release of stock firmware.
That's good to know, thanks!

First week of october for the U.
Wait until tomorrow we might get it.

Seriously if we didn't get update tomorrow or 1sr week of octuber.. I'll sell it.
the topic about ICS for Xperia U is posted for more than 1000 times. Just use the search option.
I took this today in CarPhone Warehouse (biggest phone retailer in the UK), they had the same sign up when I bought my U last week. I imagine they know more than us and ICS is about to be released because otherwise anyone could get them for false advertising (I could return mine for this if I wanted).
