Guys, is there a music application that backs up even the playlist? i flash roms all the time and its kinda hassle to put back the playlist and all one by one? Was wondering if there is an app that can restore all the playlist. Thanks

i'm using n7player, a few playlists just for running, it creates a folder on my sdcard called playlists and they're all in there. I just copy them to my EXTsd and pop the folder back over when i flashed a new rom. try checking to see if you have a folder in your SD called playlists.

With my X10i, i got use to using Media Go.
Arranges folders etc on the SDCard under a folder caused Music.
Obviousley i copied this filde from my SDCard onto my S2 Sdcard.
Im still using Media Go for now, but have to manually refresh/rescan in Poweramp eveytime.
Anyone else having this issue.
Back on topic. Whats people using to transfer music? I like to make sure they have covers etc, and to continue putting them into the SdCard/Music foldr, into relevant artists foldr etc.
I'm not sure about the relevant artists function but I use doubleTwist because it pulls the playlists from itunes and syncs all the music with your phone in a folder called music on your sd card if you want. I think if you wanna use poweramp you have to manually re-scan your library every time new music is added, not sure about that though.
Tired of having to recreate them after flashing new ROMs. I tried backing up the Music app in Titanium and then restoring the data to a new ROM but that didn't seem to work.
Don't know, but I'm with you on this. I lost my playlist 3 weeks ago, and won't recreat it on my phone sd. It's pointless, b/c I always loose it. I have it on my pc, & I sync with my Amazon Cloud. I access it from there. The only downside is I need an internet connection, but until I hear of a better solution, its what I'm sticking with.

it seems that playlist handling is kinda wonky on the stock Music app. I have a playlist that I sync from my computer using DoubleTwist, and the Music app only sees the first version of the playlist, it never displays the updated versions of it.
only workaround that's worked for me is using another player, even though I'd prefer using the stock one...
Poweramp Music Player in the market allows backup of playlist files to the SD card. This is a huge missing feature from the stock Music players that I thought would have long been overcome by now. Poweramp is $5, but it will be the best $5 you have ever spent if you flash a lot of ROMs!
I downloaded the trial, and imported the playlist to Poweramp from system. Then I deleted the playlist from stock Music app. Exported playlist from Poweramp and rebooted and it didn't show up in the stock music app. So then I moved the .m3u8 playlist file to /sdcard/Music and the stock music app saw the playlist but it was empty. Did I do something wrong?

I too am on CM7 and put all my iTunes music on my X2. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to make your phone and iTunes sync directly with each other. What I do is I make a folder on my desktop and name it "Music", then I highlight all my songs in iTunes and drag and drop them into that folder on my desktop. I then plug in my phone and just copy that entire "Music" folder onto my phone's sd card using the simple drag and drop method. After that usually whatever music app you have can find the folder easily.

I have had issues transferring music to my phone as well. I've used windows media player, drag and drop and dropbox. Still won't play the music. It says it doesn't support this type of media. It seems it will only play mp3 files and not wma. Also I lose all of my album info and the songs show up as filenames and don't display the artist.

Yea very few media apps will play .wma files.
Give PowerAmp a shot, I think that will work. I know there is a paid version, not sure of there's a free version though.

I just googled "itunes playlist android". Apparently This app should be able to do what you need: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.easyphonetunes.android.app&hl=en
I transferred some Iron Maiden FLACs that came with 2 playlists and deleted them because they were corrupted. The music files deleted ok but in Walkman I still have the playlists. Long press on playlist give me only the option to "share" and "queue", no delete option. I tried deleting cache, clear app data, reinstall Walkman, they are still there.
Of course factory reset will fix the problem but it's a pain so I would rather not do it. Do you know a way to delete these playlists?
Try adding a song to the playlist to "reactivate" the list. Then long press playlist in playlist and see if delete option comes up.
Also it may be a playlist stored in the folder that the tracks were originally in, android 4.4 sd restrictions might not allow Walkman to delete a list made elsewhere.?

It doesn't work. I have the option to add to a playlist but the corrupted playlist is not there
Anything new here? Got the same problem!
solution :delete playlist
use file commander or any file explorer then go to where your music is saved. there will be .m3u files there those are the playlist files.
due to the update to kitkat walkman app cant write to sd card. delete them manually and it will clear in the walkman app.
Xperia Z3
I have this same problem with the Music(used to be Walkman) app, but the problem is these playlist were made in the app and I don't think they make m3u files.
Does anyone know where the dat file for playlists are created/stored?
I don't want to restore my phone just for playlists(I can still create them but I can't give them the name of corrupted playlists which are invisible in the app).
Thanks.
Same problem here!!
