A popular function of the donate version of Titanium Backup is making a flash able zip to restore apps via recovery. I will be covering the steps to manage this successfully.
1.Open main menu of Titanium Backup and go to Special Features. There will be an option create update.zip. (This will only backup the apk of titanium Backup) Name it as TitaniumBackup xxxxxx and create zip.
2.Now open the batch section of Titanium Backup and locate the `Create update.zip from apps+data'. Proceed with the making of the zip.
3.If you have factory reseted or changed rom' then finish the setup of ROM and reboot into recovery. First flash the (TitaniumBackup xxxxxx) zip and reboot again.
4. Open titanium backup and grant supersu or superuser permissions. Reboot back into recovery.
5.Flash update.zip and let the process finish. It will reboot automatically and proceed to restore data. After the finish of this process reboot one last time if it asks you to.

personally I still think backup is better instead make flashable zip, it took too long .................
I prefer batch restore too, purely because I like to check through the apps just to make sure apps that I don't want don't get restored

You can do that while making the zip. And its faster then manually installing each app.

i want to use titanium backup but i dont understand how it works. i want to flash a new ROM onto my phone and i have to wipe data but i want to use titanium backup to recover all my data after the ROM is installed...how does this work????
If you have the donate version, you can go to settings and create a zip that is flashable in recovery. After you create the zip hit the menu button, choose batch, and choose backup all user apps+data. Flash your Rom, after you let the Ron boot up once, reboot and flash the titanium backup zip. This will reinstall titanium. Go to batch and choose restore missing apps+data and your done. You might as well go ahead and get the donate version because if you don't have it you have to click install for every app. With donate version, it just installs them without you having to click everytime. Make sure usb debugging is enabled or it won't work correctly.

Titanium Backup backs up your apps and data to the SD card. Wiping data through clockwork wipes the flash memory built into the phone, but leaves the SD card completely intact. Thus, you can wipe data, flash your ROM, redownload Titanium from the market, hit restore, and you are good to go.
the donate version sucks..
unless you like wasting your night clicking install a hundred times lol
Hey im gonna flashing a new rom soon, from megatron rom to nessy rom. As we all know we need to wipe our date before flashing a new rom.
So, how can i backup my Restaurant Story app then restore it back after i flash my new rom (nessy)? Im afraid that after i wipe my data, all my apps and games will be gone right, i don't want when i reinstall the Restaurant Story from the market the game will be resetted to level 1. Currently im on level 13. I dont want to play again from the start.

Get Titanium from Market, update you busybox from titanium bkp, go to backup/restore tab, press menu button and then batch. Run the batch opperation you need. Save the titanium bkp folder from your sd to pc, and you're done.

Does this really work, so just dragging the Titanium Bkp folder back in to the SD and restoring installs all the apps again?
@shotgun32 & @Vivasanti
Yes. Put the TitaniumBackup folder back on the SD card after partitioning, wiping, formatting or whatever. Install Titanium Backup again from the Market on your fresh installed ROM and then restore. If your backup included system data, you will also have the SMS and contacts restored, plus most of the system settings. Also, you can restore only the needed apps.
Guys need help here, ive successfuly installed my 1st custom rom and restored my apps from titanium backup but my restored apps are not shown in market->myapps,
I need my restored apps to be linked back in the market so that I can still receive notification when an app has a new update. tnx
I want to create a backup set of my currently installed apps for being able to restore those after a wipe and romantic newinstall.
The Titanium Backup help tells me I can filter for installed apps but I don't have/find this option?
Also may have to use labels but I don't know how/why?
Can anyone give me a short advise or fingerpoint on how to create a backup Snapshost of current installations and how to restore after clean romantic install?
Go into backup and restore and select apps to which you want to backup and press backup... Down..
But I want to batch backup all currently installed apps without selecting each and every single app separately?

What's the best way to backup your apps and rom as well as how the homescreen is set up. Usually I would just titanium backup my apps and make a nandroid.
You answered you own question, using TB

haha thank you, I thought I might have done that. So, I assume you need the Pro version to do some sort of system image?
TI doesnt back up system images, it does backup of .apk's and sometimes their external data stored in /android and /data. I dont even remember what all the pro version lets you do, but i do know it lets you do batch restore jobs and thats a huge timesaver. you can back up your homescreen set up by finding the [DESKTOP] system app and backing it up, then restoring SYSTEM DATA ONLY. otherwise you might screw up your rom. the app is colored green
The problem I find with titanium backup is that there should be a flashable zip for it for new roms that don't gave it or a file managaer to install the apk.
Then when you flash a rom it says something about the phones old ID. At this point, do you always revert the ID back so that the apps are able to be restored. ? Or not ?

You can create a flashable zip within the app itself. Hit the menu button at the top, then create zip, and change the name of the output zip to "titaniumbackup-xxx" and profit
THIS IS THE GUIDE IF YOU HAVE ACCIDENTLY DELETED ANY SYSTEM APP WHILE ON A CUSTOM ROM
eg:BRowser, Radio, Messaging
Before installing a Custom ROM you must always have a Backup of your stock rom, or any other working rom
Requirements:-
Titanium Back up(app)
Root(of course)
BACKED UP ROM(MUST HAVE)
Steps:
1-If you have installed a custom rom and if you find an system app missing you will need to restore your backed up rom
2-After Restoring Open Titanium Back Up or Download it from App store.
3-Allow Root access and let the app calculate your phone
4-now go to backup/restore at the top of the screen
5-select the system app which you couldnt find or install in your new custom rom, Select it and out of a few options you will find BACKUP
6-after making the backup, Reflash your Custom Rom
7-download titanium back, allow root permissions, got to backup/restore, and scroll extreme downwards
8-you will find all your backup app
9-now just select the app, and you will get an option of restore...
VIOLA- YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY RESTORED YOUR RESTORED YOUR SYSTEM APP
(IT WORKED FOR ME, WHEN THE ROM I HAD INSTALLED DIDNT COME WITH ANDROID BROWSER)
If you have any questions feel free to ask....
{WILL TRY AND GET SCREENSHOTS SOON TOO}
DO PRESS THANX IF I HELPED YOU
How about if you dont have backup rom but you have a copy of apk. is it posible to extract the apk and drop it manualy in system?
