I have these two apps(in image below) to lock my screen , for a very long time. But i find a bug in both of them. That when i click them to lock the screen the screen turns back on at delay of around .5 sec. So is there any way to fix this or any other good app.

it might be because of a wakelock.. put a logcat and reproduce the scenario.. and check the logs to identify the wakelock.. if this issue is getting into your nerves.. install the Wakelock Detector app to find out which apps are producing the maximum wake locks in your phone..

Frankly i don't think that it is due to wakelocks of other apps. Some time before i have tried uninstalling this app and used only my power button to lock and unlock(for a week or so) and the screen never turned on by itself. So i think its a bug in those apps only. I have e mailed the situation to dev of this app but no reply.

Ok.. thats interesting.. If the developer responds, send him a logcat while reproducing the issue.. it will make his debugging more easy..

Hi all,
I've recently flashed my GS3 to UltimaRom 4.0. (Very nice Rom btw)
I have no complaints, other than this one small thingy. (don't know if it's a known issue or not but a search didn't reveal anything)
When I press the 'power' button to turn off the display and to put away my phone, it sometimes keeps turning the display on.
Pressing the power button turns it off and immediately turns it back on.
I have to unlock the phone first before I can lock it again and the display stays disabled.
It's not a big deal but annoying if you just want to check something fast and the screen keeps popping up.
Is there any known fix for this? Or am I just forgetting something configuration wise?
Thx for any advise.
No issue here. Maybe one of your apps is causing this.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Same here
I've got the same problem, I've not managed to nail it down to a single rogue app yet that may or may not be causing the issue. I'm running Omega v28 Jelly Bean, so I presume this isn't something wrong in either ROM, just an app like Arsaw says.
It could be:
The CRT bug (fixed in 5.1)
or
Something waking your screen a rogue app, or perhaps something asking for permissions and waking to do that (I had that once).
I'll place money on it being the CRT bug, though
Update to 4.1. There's lots of new features
So it was a bug, I had that too at 4.0 but I didn't pay much attention to it.
Quite late reply, but only had yesterday the chance to flash v4.1 i havent had the issue yet.
So it was probably indeed the problem mentioned above.
Thanks for you help!

Now that we have root is there a fix for lock screen lag?
The current root procedure breaks more things so its not worth it even if it did

On my Note it appears to be a TouchWiz problem. I do not have the lock screen enabled as my phone never leaves my side. From sleep it takes approx. 1 second to wake if i press the power button when using TouchWiz. It wakes in less than half a second when i use SSLauncher or Nova!
Not using touchwiz. Nova launcher instead. Still get crazy lag. Seems its across all Note 2. Hoping for a fix.
I was browsing the n7100 forums and someone there asked the same question. A lot of people said that the lag was because of the phone coming out of deep sleep so the only way to fix the lag would be to keep some app running in the background that keeps the phone from sleeping. The only problem with that is that your battery life won't be as good.
why not just download voltage control or similar app and raise the minimum clock speed?
I have no lag at all. My note 2 is faster then my g3

It's not lag so much as it is a delay. On my Razr, there's no delay between pushing the power button and the screen coming on. There is a delay on the Note 2 of around a second between pushing the button and the screen coming on.
I don't think it's the lockscreen. I don't see a difference when I turn it off. My guess is the little bit of lag is for hardware reasons.
I've read that this is due to S-Voice waiting for input before the screen completely wakes up. Go into S-Voice and find the setting to wait for input on wake or something similar and turn that off. Lag should be fixed...dont have the phone yet and already giving advice, lol.

No such option at all.
There is a setting within S-Voice, just google it...im too lazy but there's even a video on YouTube of someone explaining it...

Went into s voice and there was nothing about that in there. Just wake on command and thats all.

This video is for home button lag not lockscreen lag. Plu my s voice was all ready disable by home button. This thread is for lockscreen lag/delay not home button.
The Fix for me
Here is what i found turn off s-voice this what i found to fix the lag i think it is running waiting for the wake voice command
do turn it off if you dont use it did and it did the trick it is in the apps drawer so dont look for it in the settings
I thought this was generally accepted to be due to the phone entering a deep sleep and shutting off the CPU cores, thus the delay in waking up the processor and thus the display.
Will do further testing around forced wake locks and hold cpu states.
i disabled the lock screen...so much better! this phone does not pocket dial, so its not needed anyway imo.
I don't understand my high awake time. I posted some samples. I've much more awake time than my display is on, but I don't understand why.
Kernel wakelocks are about 15 min total, Partitial wakelocks are about 7 minutes, only a few alarms. My Processes consume only seconds of cpu time.
How can i find out what is reponsible for this high awake time? Are there other tools than BBS, CpuSpy and Elixir2?
Is there any way to monitor the phone during sleep/standby what causes awake time?
Your pictures didn't come.
Is sync on, running a location program? Installed any apps recently?

Pictures are now available. Sync is on, no location Program running. No New Apps
Your WIFI is running all the time. Might want to turn on option in advanced settings to turn off wifi automatically after screen is off few mins.
Yep, WiFi. And is your GPS on? If your network provider doesn't offer fast dormancy, you should go on and disable it also.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
are you using apps like screen off or something like that?
Wifi off has no effect on awake time, GPS is only active when used. VF provides fast dormancy.
What causes awake time? I see nothing in BBS?
I use a screen off app. But i don't see any difference when using power button, screen off by app or timeout
Well you might want to go through this topic.

I've no problem with battery drain. Overnight with wifi connected (no 3g data) consumes less battery than 3g connection.
My problem is the awake time because i dont' see any cause why this is that high.

That is the culprit
Screen off app dont put your phone into deep sleep but instead it turns off your screen but still awake, meaning use physical power button if you want to put your phkne into deep sleep. And also make sure you close all apps in the multitask or recent apps
A simple THANKS button would suffice

I tested it. There is no difference beetween power button and my screen off app (force_lock permission). Both shut down the device and enter deep sleep.
Any other ideas?

I supposed your using BBS? You told me that when you shutdown the device it enter deep sleep? So how in the world you have high awake time if your phone is in deep sleep?
Here try this:
Make a BBS widget in your homescreen bcoz it is more understandable than entering the app itself. You will see deep sleep time and awake time and screen on time in there. Then try to shutdown using power button then after 5mins check if your deep sleep counter goes up, then try your screen off app then after 5mins check if deep sleep counter goes up if not then its different.
Or maybe your wifi or mobile data is on gps is active.
A simple THANKS button would suffice

Okay hey guys I've been looking at my battery stats on bbs and apparently audio out 2 or media server as it's showing on gsam battery monitor is keeping my phone awake for hours at a time.it's driving me crazy I've looked on the internet all day and I just can't find a fix for it does anyone know anyway to fix this battery drain? Btw I'm using wanamlite 4.7 and the latest boeffla kernel.

Are you using any radio apps or media applications? Audio out goes with a lot of apps that play sounds..

Nope none in the last 24 hours.

I use tunein and it gives me both wakelocks. Yiu may wish to check in the wanam thread to see if anyone else suffers similar symptoms

Isn't an issue ... is related to the sound system.
Sound on tap , sound in keyboard , sound on lock screen etc ... including sound notification for incoming alerts ... all of these keeps the audio 2 wakelock on top
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I might have found a final solution for this "audio out 2" battery drain. I tried lots of stuff and nothing worked, this battery drain kept showing up "randomly" sometimes it was lasting very long and sometimes it would disapear just like that. Ok so now I know it was not random. I found the solution by accident. So when you click volume up or down button the volume slider shows up with a settings icon. When u click the settings icon U get view of 4 separate sliders for different system events. All U have to do is set all of those sliders to maximum and problem solved. I suppose it must be some sound settings bug that shows up when one of the sliders is set to different volume than others. In my case the media volume was lower than the others. I didn't try it, but maybe if you set all the sliders to exactly 50 there would be also no battery drain. Also I have in call volume set to max, U can access it only during a call by volume up or down keys.
Could sombody try my solution and check if it works for them? Maybe some devs could also check it out to prevent it form happening on custom roms. And the most important thing my setup is international GS3 with stock 4.1.2 xxemb1 firmware, i duplicated the problem and solution on stock xella xelkc firmwares also.
Hope I helped.
Do you have, by any chance, Viber installed? I found it being the culprit. It was keeping the device awake and always a 200Mhz, so the battery drained drastically fast. I removed and now it seems to be fine. There's already a similar topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919126
So kamylo, the sliders shouldn't make any difference and anyway I'm nit gonna stay with all sounds on max... Check here for more info http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2669688/all

Wakelock Detector 1.4
Ever wondered why your smartphone screen doesn’t turn off automatically when it should have, the screen wakes up all of a sudden or you find your phone battery drained even when you exited apps and turned off the screen? This might be due to wakelock holding apps.”Wakelock Detector” helps you to detect battery consuming applications in your Android device by checking wakelock usage history. Now you can find out which applications drain your battery in a simple way by using this app!
"Wakelock detector" is our goal to simplify detecting wakelock issues for an ordinary user. As you know, wakelocks have enormous impact on battery life.
Some applications they use cpu in the background even while your phone screen is off. There are many reasons for that. They might be synchronizing data, polling for new messages, playing music, downloading data and so on. This is called "Partial wake lock".
And some applications hold your screen on to prevent turning off while you are playing game or reading e-book or watching movie.. This one is called "Window wake lock"
And finally, "Full wake lock" which can keep your screen at full brightness, and it can turn on your hardware key LED on.
People have problems mostly with "Partial" wakelock and it is not possible to detect them with default battery statistics app. Wrong settings(e.g Android Backup turned on), developer bug (wakelock acquired but was not released) or hidden operations (collecting data on background) can lead to wakelock issues which eventually drains the battery.
Wakelock detector groups the wakelocks by the app name to which it belongs. This makes it easy to see what app is draining your battery. Also, it shows which apps are currently running. The reason why we added this feature is , imagine that you have your screen turned on automatically and you don't know which app holding your screen on. In this case, it is helpful to see which app is currently running and holding wakelocks.
All the wakelock statistics are shown since phone reboot. Note that if you unPlug USB Cable when the battery is more than 90%, the battery statistics will be reset.
