Hi guys,
The power button on my xperia does not seem to work correctly - it powers my xperia up but that is it. Once on, I can not use the power button to turn the screen off, I have to wait for it to time out..... I also have to pull the battery to switch the phone off :-S
Has anyone had this issue?
Thanks for your help.

I had this issue when I had spare parts installed. I had accidently deactivated the power button in the settings.
it worked

i did this and it worked for me!
to clarify its:
Spare Parts > Spare Parts Settings > End Button Behavior > Go To Sleep
So I lied... The whole spare parts thing didn't work for me.
After getting frustrated with this on multiple roms i found a solution.
I'd post the thread that i sort of found it in but i cannot exactly find it.
What i did was edit the es209a_keypad.kl in /system/usr/keylayout (with RootExplorer)
this file maps the hardware buttons on the phone and to what they do
after i changed it:
key 107 ENDCALL WAKE
key 62 ENDCALL WAKE
key 231 CALL WAKE
key 61 CALL WAKE
key 102 HOME WAKE_DROPPED
key 116 POWER WAKE
Now there are other buttons that are in the file but i just left them blank, meaning it says *key ### NAME *, with no wake or wakedropped
hopefully this can help some people
PS: you need to restart your phone for the file to take effect.
After the boot it took about 3 presses but now the power button is fully functional it puts the phone to sleep, wakes it up, and brings up the power option on long press!!!!!
Hi guys
Had my galaxy s 2 through T-Mobile for a few days now. Beats HD2 running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 hands down.
I've debranded the phone, running KE7 XEU and rooted via chainfire's insecure kernel.
However I've noticed this morning that the capacitive buttons are no longer lit up. The power is very low and needs charging, so I was wondering is this normal? A sort of built in power saving thing perhaps?
I'm not actually running power save mode, but suddenly the buttons aren't lit, however they still work?
Any ideas.
Thanks
Yes, that's normal. Search the settings, you can customize the behaviour.

Thanks for the swift reply.
That's a relief!
I've just put on the Case Mate Tough case and suddenly the buttons didn't light up - thought maybe I'd somehow broken it!
I can see power save settings and an option under display to specify the touch key light duration, but not nothing specifically regarding turning off touch key light power saving mode when battery low. Am I missing something?
Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do. When the power is low the buttons won't light up. For me it's not the end of the world as I know where they are.

Hi guys,
I'm using CM 10.1 nightly on my I9300, the thing i don't like is that, the back light on the hardware buttons are light up when ever i touch on the touch screen or the HW buttons.I don't need that, i only need the back light when ever i touch on the HW buttons only not on the touch screen.
Is there any way to do that.disabling the backlight from the advanced menu makes the back light turn off completely(it will not turn on even if i touch on the button).
If any one out there with any info, PLEASE HELP...

There is no option for that in advanced settings...the Backlight option in that only disable or enable it fully...no option to light up only when touch the buttons.
right, I misunderstood what you wanted. Don't think there's a way

Hello,I too really hate that at some times and the only way I found by now without rooting the device is with this app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/app-key-plus-change-lg-g3-volume-key-t2977136
It is not working on my G2 mini, no effects after install, no asking about default action for keys. Any other idea?
P. S. I got root.
