Hey guys,
I managed to root my XT320 a few days ago (using this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079202) which has opened up a few theming possibilities, mainly, that horrible blue status bar.

Before even thinking about doing this make a backup of your phone by any means necessary, I am not responsible if your phone blows up, dies, or starts taking piano lessons.
Now, on your phone, using a file browser (with root browsing enabled) head over to "Root>System>app" and BACKUP "SystemUI.apk" to somewhere on your SD card (not SD card Root please, put it somewhere else)
Next, connect your xt320 to your pc and mount sd card, then download this replacement SystemUI.apk which has had a few drawables altered: http://www.mediafire.com/?a7etbt8311rcpzt
Copy it to the root of your SD card
In your file explorer on your phone(for example ES Explorer) go to the root of your SD Card and copy the SystemUI.apk you just downloaded.
Now on your file explorer go to settings>root settings and tick "mount file system" which is going to allow us to replace the System_ui.apk which is in the "System>app" folder
Browse again to "Root>System>app and Paste the replacement APK.
YOU'RE PHONE WILL CRASH BUT DO NOT WORRY!
Try to reboot or failing that just pull the battery out and turn back on and voila! Much nicer looking Status bar and Wifi icons!
looks great
I cant make it work, i past it with mount ro/rw
and paste it on /system/app but its get replaced and when i restart the phone the bar isnt there, i re installed the old one and works -.-

BTW, Thanks for your concern and kind help.
I have found the file its stat_notify_voicemail.png in framework-res.apk.
Can you copy your framework-res.apk from system/framework with a root file manager and upload it and ill replace the image for you.
If your not sure how to do this let me know and ill try to explain.
Ive modded the file to be transparent just needs injecting into your framwork
can you teach me how to replace the PNG inside the APK? so i can do it myself in the future.
Thanks again ( A LOT )
update:
the Framework-res.apk is over 10mb big and won't load (unless i zip it and send it in 2 parts) ... it'll be great if you tell me how to replace the png.
Sure i can we like a user who likes to learn
first you need winrar http://www.rarlab.com/
1. using a root file manager (this is a good free one http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=30417) copy your framewor-res.apk from system/framework to your internal or external SD Card
2. Copy it off the SD to your pc.
3. open the framework-res.apk on your pc with winrar
4. Navigate to drawable-hdpi
5. drag the modified stat_notify_voicemail.png i attached into drawable-hdpi leave all the options as they are and press ok.
4. copy the framework-res.apk bk to system/framework *you might get a force close or random reboot (dont worry its normal)
5. when phone has rebooted navigate to system/framework and change the permissions to as per my pic.
6.reboot
7.???
8. Profit
Hope that made sense!
Never will the voice mail icon annoy you again
My upload didnt work properly ive rar'd it up hopefully will work better this time
no matter what i do or use it won't let me edit (over write - replace - rename) the framework-res.apk file.
i replaced the png but can't replace the whole apk
PS: is there a way to permanently stop the Voice mail. (like uninstall the functionality from the phone)
You need to set your file system to writable, try this.
1. Download es file explorer from the market
2. In options tick root explorer
3. Tick mount file system as writable
4. Copy the file using es explorer
-possible reboot
5. go bk to system/framework in es explorer
6. long press the file - properties and change permissions to match my pic
6. reboot
hopefully that should sort it and you still get voicemail
ps. this shouldn't need saying but im gonna say it anyways, make sure you have a CWM recovery backup first just incase something goes wrong and you can restore
Hi! I have a rooted galaxy s2 with stock 2.3.5. Is there a way to add the CRT animation to the stock ROM?
See this thread
To install, download Root Explorer app, then:
1. Download the file from the above thread and unzip.
2. Connect the phone to your computer via USB and copy the downloaded framework-res.apk file to a folder on the internal SD drive.
3. On the phone, open the Root Explorer app.
4. Navigate to /system/framework.
5. Long press on framework-res.apk and press Copy
6. Press back key then navigate to /sdcard/external_sd/backup and hit paste to create a backup on the external sd card [NB backup is a folder I use for backups, but you can paste it anywhere]
7. Press back key twice then navigate to the /sdcard folder where you copied the downloaded framework-res.akp file.
8. Long press on framework-res.apk and press Copy to copy the new version.
9. Press back key twice then navigate back to /system/framework and hit "Mount r/w" at the top.
10. Press Paste to overwrite the new file over the old one.
11. The screen goes black, the startup music plays, then the screen comes back and it's installed.
Thanks I changed the framework-res.apk and it works but the animation doesn't seem to display very well... It looks more or less like this:

Check out jkays mods.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154278
If you have one of the supported stock Rom versions you can easily flash his stock odexed theme to keep the stock look then install jkay delux application and get the CRT effect and many other tweaks that I'm sure you will find useful.
Great lockscreen too.
I think this is a much better option than trying to do each mod manually.
Also everything from jkay is totally reversible.

Need some help here guys, I accidentally froze the default clock app with Titanium. (The one with stopwatch, timer, alarm, timezones etc.)
Then when I realized that the alarms weren't ringing, I tried to restore it from Titanium Backup Pro, but it was hanging at the restore screen and now only the alarm symbol shows up in the status bar but there's no app.

No I am on stock ROM LF2 with CF-Root.
I have flashed a lot of mods though, and don't want to lose them all in the wipe and reinstall process.
Is there a way to solve this without reflash?
Thanks!

this is from one of the issues on an S2...it should work on the S3
Here is how to solve the problem:
1. Find /data/system/packages.xml with Root Explorer or an equivalent
2. Make a backup of packages.xml right away in the same folder in case we mess anything up any need to restore it later
3. Copy packages.xml onto the root of your internal or external storage
4. Plug your device into your computer and copy packages.xml from the root of your storage over to your computer
5. Open the packages.xml on your computer with your editor of choice - I suggest Notepad++
6. Search for the string {enabled="2"} (without the { }). Every line ending in this represents a frozen app. The lines should look something like this:
for ex:
<package name="com.sec.android.widgetapp.socialhub" codePath="/system/app/SocialHubWidget.apk" nativeLibraryPath="/data/data/com.sec.android.widgetapp.socialhub/lib" flags="1" ft="11b7e237e00" it="11b7e237e00" ut="11b7e237e00" version="1" sharedUserId="10001" enabled="2">
7. Now for every app you wish to unfreeze, replace {enabled="2"} with {enabled="1"} (again, without the {})
7. Save packages.xml, move it back onto your phone's storage, and use Root Explorer or an equivalent to replace your original packages.xml at /data/system/packages.xml with your new one
8. Reboot
Plzzz Click the Thank Button if this helped!!!

Yes buddy I'm from Mumbai.
Ok, so here's what I did:
I reflashed official LF2 ROM without doing any wipes since I didn't want to lose my apps and settings.
Now the clock app has appeared in my app drawer, and I'm able to open it. However all the other apps that I had frozen are all back. No problem, I'll freeze them again later.
Original problem is solved, alarm icon is functioning fine. Though I will now have to do all the mods again. :-\
Thanks for all your help Sohail.

When i tried copying my Titanium Backup folder to my PC , windows explorer threw an error saying "Unspecified Error" (Yeah! very helpful :silly
Strangely I could copy all other folders. But I got the error again while trying to copy my CWM recovery folder.
Even more strange is that some files from these two folders are missing completely in the explorer but are visible on my phone.
Then I tried using adb and Voila! i could pull / push files without any problem.
I tried reinstalling all drivers etc but still got the same error . It was also showing the same error on my friends laptop as well.
Any one else facing this problem? any ideas on how i can fix this ? (It is hectic copying files using adb )
Check screen shots

I know this is an older post but I had the same issues today and thought I might tell you what I found.
After several tries of moving files over to my Windows 8 machine I tried something different. I moved the entire Titanium Backup folder into another folder on my phone (thought maybe something was accessing the files making them inaccessible. I recieved an error on a few files but the majority copied over.
From this new copied folder I was able to copy everything over to my computer. This allowed me to compare the files that copied and the ones that didn't. After comparing these I realized that I recently deleted some apps and these backups were appearing on Windows Explorer but NOT showing up on my phone.
It looks like this issue is caused by Windows inability to update the files and folder correctly. I know that I have had issues with this in the past. Changing files on my phone and not seeing any affect on my windows machine, even after refreshing the screen.
Has anyone experienced this? Does someone have a solution or work around?
I had the same issue with my xgo but i solve it by changing convesity mode to mass storage but u won't be able to access internal storage of phone u would try changing folder name from file explorer might appear

nothing seems to be working for me... what can i do? when i move files, delete files, rename files, etc, the changes dont reflect in my windows 8 laptop. wtf?? help plz
I have noticed that if you are writing to your memory while transferring the files, the error is shown. Try to make sure no other app is using the memory while transferring the files

I was just having this issue, so I decided to try an adb pull of the folder instead. I was able to copy everything from the titanium backup folder to my temp folder on my laptop (windows 8.1) so if you run into the issue again, maybe give that a try.
NOTE: I'm using the OPO, so not sure how it will do with a Sony device.
Es file explorer does the trick
Download ES File Explorer.
Navigate to the Backup folder, copy all the files inside it, and paste it in a new folder with a different name.
Try copying this new folder. Should work!

This module removes the restriction when selecting folders (Downloads/Android) through the file manager on Android 11 and higher (also available as a Magisk module through Fox Module Manager)
2.0 Update
* Enabled Managed Mode on the DocumentsUI (make sure to apply the module to the Files/Documents app)
* This change allows selecting /data and /obb folders on the Android folder (where as before they were hidden)
### Note
The signature has changed on this version so you'll have to uninstall the previous version before updating

This works brilliantly - better than the Magisk module! Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to me. Sure thing, here goes:
As you can see, the "data" folder and the "obb" folder are missing. By the way, the first time I tried to move stuff, immediately after installing the app, those folders were actually visible as intended, but once I quit the moving process and tried a second time (and from that moment on) this is what I get

Oh, that's a different restriction (imposed by a different app)
My module is mainly to allow granting access to folders (downloads/Android) where it would normally tell you to create a new folder and not allow you to select that folder
The data/obb folders being hidden is a different thing
You could try this zip, tho it's a bit sloppily made, so i can't guarantee it'll work
