Anyone that could help me out with this, I would be so grateful. I am new at this, this is my very first post, and I'm looking up to you guys as my super hero! I have checked threads for the past 7 hours and cannot find out how to fix the following problem. I have found threads addressing similar issues but always find something that is slightly different and cannot help, I think I have a unique situation.
In a nut shell, my current objective is to restore the phone back to factory settings.
-Phone WAS running on Sense 3.6, ICS 4.0 <-ICS came preinstalled with the carrier
- I succesfully rooted the phone via the 'Hasoon Amaze all in 1 kit', downloaded 4EXT 1.0.0.5RC3, and tried to load the Cyanogen CM 10 jellybean rom
-Where it was stuck on the Cyanogen splash screen
-Figured out it was because my phone was set to S-ON via the bootloader screen, which HTC prevents cutsom roms from loading apparently
-Could not figure out how to remove the CM10 rom from automatically loading up, so I figited around in the 4EXT, and wiped everything
-Current Rom (according to 4EXT is 'Unknown')
Where I am right now:
- Stuck at HTC splash screen
- Only things I can access is the bootloader and 4EXT ( via battery out, volume down at restart)
-Cannot connect the through USB to modify the anything on internal SD card (I cannot access the phones internal drive through the computer)
-Cannot access SD card through 4EXT (it cannot locate it)
-I have tried to factory reset from the bootloader screen - takes me to 4ext. I have tried to factory reset from 4ext, takes me to the frozen HTC logo.
-With not being able to connect via USB, I cannot load anything else (zip files) onto the phone from the computer.
I have no idea what to do now Did I delete some important factory recovery file when I wiped the phone from 4EXT?
The idea was, that I'd install Jellybean as a ROM, I don't like HTC sense, I wanted google now, and I failed. I would REALLY appreciate it IF you can help and are in Toronto, beers on me.

since your phone came ICS preinstalled it'll be a lil easy choose the correct carrier and download the Latest stock ruu from there and Rename the RUU to PH85IMG.zip and place it on the root of your external sd card. Once this file is on the SDcard, do a battery pull, then turn the device back on while holding down the VOLUME DOWN button.once your in bootloader it will prompt you to install, select yes and then it'll flash then flash 4ext after that..when your flashing another rom always run this super wipescript from 4ext..it is IMPORTANT to do a full wipe before flashing another rom..

Hey Ravike - thanks so much for taking the time to help me out. Remember, I am new, so please correct me if I am wrong understanding what you mean in this solution. Do you mean to say to follow these steps;
1) Get an external SD card from a store (I do not have one)
2) Find a way to load the said .zip file on to the External SD card (I cannot transfer the file from computer directly to the external SD card via phone USB connection as it is not showing up as a mounted drive in My Computer - I would have to have a friend put the file onto it some other way), then insert the card into the phone
3) I am a little curious about this one -- And once the file is on the external SD card, load bootloader (on the phone) and bootloader will automatically recognize that this file is on the external SD card and prompt me to install it? (Again I am new, but from what I've seen it just doesn't seem like bootloader has that kind of functionality -- prompting)
4) If step 3 is true, it will end up putting me into 4ext.
-If you confirm these steps, then what happens after I end up in 4ext after step 4)? What happens and where am I in my quest to reset to factory
-If you do not confirm these steps, would you be so kind as to detail where I went wrong?
I just want to as sure as I can before going out to a store and actually buying an external SD card.
Again, thanks SO much for this, I really do appreciate it.

1.yup you have to have a sd card dont buy a huge one even 2GB is enough (i'm using a 2GB for flashing n stuff)
2.well try the option called ''toggle usb storage'' from 4ext it mounts your int n ext sd card on pc aswell if it doesnt work then ask one of your friends or take a card reader or something?
3.well when you boot into bootloader most of the times your in fastboot mode so make sure your in the right mode the option you should be seeing will appear as ''fastboot, recovery, factory rest, clear storage, simlock image crc'' simply all you have to do is go to bootloader option and press power button
4. try it first :good:
Soubds like you dont have smartflash enabled in 4ext... or did I miss that part somewhere?

Hey Again. Still stuck. Just a quick note that my carrier is Mobilicity. Here is what I've done so far since we last talked.
1) I got an external SD card
2) I loaded the file within the link you gave me "OTA_RUBY_ICS_35_S_DAVE_CA_2.14.1800.6-1.45.1800.2_R_release_263099viknauioz1fkgotb.zip" ,and renamed it to "PH85IMG.zip", as you said (I think - this is the zip file in the link Latest stock ruu you provided under Mobilicity) on the root of the external SD card
I note that there is another file in that link under mobilicity named "RUU_Ruby_DAVE_CA_1.45.1800.2_R_Radio_1.09.550L.11v 2DC_30.67.550L.09_release_227348_signed.exe"
3) Bootloader recognized there was a file there and tried to work it's magic but it failed and took me back to boot loader.
Which file do I rename to PH85IMG.zip? The exe or the zip? And what to I do with whatever file happens to be the one that I am not renaming to PH85IMG.zip? And where do I put it?
To answer the other fellow - I have tried enabling smartflash either way. And the CM10 rom is gone now. So is the stock rom. There is no rom running at all. It's just the HTC logo screen and does nothing. I can access Bootloader screen and 4ext through bootloader, but that's it.
THANKS!!!

Thanks Ravike! Still stuck though brother!
1) How to I 'relock the bootloader'?
2) I'm soooo new, what do you mean by 'flash it'? What's the procedure for flashing in this situation?
3) Also, what do I do with the other exe file or is it not important?
4) Is there any settings in 4EXT I need to ensure are on, or mounted or enabled?
Other things to note (may be useful for answer):
- When I rename the zip to PH85IMG.zip and go into bootloader, the following shows up in HBoot:
ph85diag.zip no image!
ph85diag.nbh no or wrong image!
PH85IMG.zip loads up, a blue progress bar eventually finishes, then it says
PH85IMG.zip ... checking
PH85IMG.zip ... parsing
Then it brings me back to the default bootloader screen and back to where we started. This may be where your solution of flashing comes into play of 'relocking' and 'flashing'? I don't know, hope you do!

Okay, somewhat good news (I think)...
I did manage to relock the bootloader in fastboot using the all in one toolkit. It looks like yes, it will send commands via fastboot mode.
In HBoot, It did something differently this time....
It used to say:
ph85diag.zip no image!
ph85diag.nbh no or wrong image!
PH85IMG.zip loads up, a blue progress bar eventually finishes, then it says
PH85IMG.zip ... checking
PH85IMG.zip ... parsing
Now it says:
ph85diag.zip no image!
ph85diag.nbh no or wrong image!
PH85IMG.zip loads up, a blue progress bar eventually finishes, then it says
PH85IMG.zip ... checking <-----this time with a yellow progress bar
Then it takes me back to the bootloader screen.
- tried to hit recovery (which usually takes me into 4ext, and it reboots the phone and back into bootloader)
-Factory reset also reboots the phone and back into bootloader
-If I go into fastboot, and hit reboot it also reboots the phone and back into bootloader
-At one point, I saw the yellow status bar on the HTC logo screen and it took me back into bootloader
-Each time it goes into bootloader, it follows the process of detecting the zip file mentioned above, but then it ultimately puts me back into bootloader
So now, here is where I am,
-The bootloader is relocked
-HTC logo/splash screen no longer freezes, yellow progress bar appears in top right corner and puts me into bootloader
-Cannot seem to access 4ext anymore
-Able to send commands to phone via All in 1 kit 3.2 with phone connected in Fastboot mode
-RUU zip is on External card, which gets read in Hboot, but throws me back into bootloader mode
Keep 'em comin' boys! I'd be so grateful if we could solve this! Are we almost there yet? LOL

guysss plss help, im honestly very very new to this whole phone rooting business and stuff. i wanted to do it to my phone cuz my friend has a custom rom on his galaxy nexus so i thought it was amazing and i wanted sumtin similar. ANYWAYS
i followed the steps to root my phone, when i put it in vol down and power screen at the top its says unlocked high lighten in pink, i submitted that code to htc dev, followed the steps entered the code in CMD and my phone did everything right it rebooted. THENN i downloaded a rom on my phone, android revolution hd, went inot the vol down and power screen and saw unzip from sd card, hit that, found the android revolution, hit that, then it said successful "reboot now" i did that, and it just stayed at the htc screen for hours, i left it over night as well while it was charging. i did factory reset wiped everything i could, and now it says sumtin like no image, no ph85diag can be found. PLSS HELP I WANT MY PHONE BACK!!
have you tried downloading a stock rom?
download either the leak ICS stock rom or the stock gingerbread rom
rename the rom zip file to PH85IMG.zip
put the file on your microsd card and insert card into phone
relock your bootloader
boot into bootloader (vol down + power)
go into bootloader, not fastboot
stock rom should automatically install

hey, okay so my friend did the ICS stock rom, renamed it, put it on sd card, and when he put it in fastboot, or the vol down power screen, w.e its called he said it says "CID incorrect update fail"
could it be because we r renaming it to PH85IMG.ZIP? when it says PH85DIAG.ZIP?
like what does CID incorrect even mean

That's because it's a T-Mobile rom and i'm guessing your on a different carrier? You have to do the CID unlock but i beleive you have to be S-OFF to do that..

To use the tmobile leaked ICS you need to either be a tmobile client, or be s-off and superCID your phone. Theres tutorials for this on the forums. If youre not tmobile, I might suggest using a stock gingerbread RUU for your carrier. Again, you should be able to find this with a quick search of the forums. From there, do as suggested above by naming it PH85IMG.zip and putting it on your sd card. The boot into the bootloader (vol down + power) and it should automatically recognize the image and update. If it doesnt recognize the image, make sure you named it appropriately in windows (no extra .zip, and I believe case is important).

according the the link i posted above
The process is very simple and exactly the same as the Sensation and most S-Off HTC devices:
1. Command prompt (or terminal for linux) and type "cd" "followed by the path to your adb folder" (windows users can type "cd C:\adb")
2. Ensure your phone is switched on (regular home screen) and connect it by USB in charging mode (Ensure usb debugging is on settings)
3. Enter the command "adb devices". This is to confirm your phone is connected. (It should come back with list of devices attached and your serial number)
4. Enter the command "adb reboot-bootloader". (nothing further required device WILL reboot in bootloader)
IF it doesn't you can Manually put the phone in the bootloader/hboot mode
Navigate to fastboot by pressing volume down and pressing power button to select (power off > vol down + power on)
It will take you to the fastboot bootloader screen on your phone
Connect your phone via USB
Your Screen should now read fastboot USB
5. Enter the command "fastboot oem writecid 11111111"
6. Enter the command "fastboot reboot-bootloader (Wait for it to reboot the bootloader)
7. Enter the command "fastboot getvar cid" [it should confirm your CID is 11111111]
8. Enter the command "fastboot reboot"
9. You can now flash any ROM you like.
problem is i cant put my phone into usb debugging mode because in order to do that i need to be able to access my home screen, which i cant since im bricked at the htc amaze screen, and r the above steps correct?

according to the "click here" link you put u gotta
1) be locked with s-off using juopunutbear's s-off method.
2) flash the eng hboot 1.90.2005
3) with s-off and the eng hboot, rename the ruu to ph85img.zip and put on root of external sd card
4) boot into bootloader and apply the update
5) once updated, reflash the eng hboot again
6) flash the cwm 5.5.0.4 recovery in fastboot (fastboot flash recovery *****.img)
7) flash the superuser package in recovery to gain root
but juopunutbear's s-off method recquires usb debugging how do i s-off if i cant enable usb debugging, since im bricked at htc screen, pls help
i was also under the impression that ext 4 touch allowed you to install roms requiring soff without the need for actually having to go s off

hey, okay so my friend did the ICS stock rom, renamed it, put it on sd card, and when he put it in fastboot, or the vol down power screen, w.e its called he said it says "CID incorrect update fail"
could it be because we r renaming it to PH85IMG.ZIP? when it says PH85DIAG.ZIP?
like what does CID incorrect even mean

when you rename the file don't put the ".zip" in the name just type in "PH85IMG" its already a zip file. so adding the .zip will read "PH85IMG.zip.zip"
I recently went to change my ROM on my HTC amaze, but after I was finished installing it went to reboot and ever since no matter what I do, it just stays on the white htc screen. The only thing I can get to is into Recovery. I locked boot loader and unlocked it and after doing so I noticed it said S ON. How do I turn s off while stuck in recovery mode? Im using the ZurgRushTemp root but it says that I need my phone in usb debugging mode and I dont know how to do that in recovery mode. If I sound like a total idiot it's probably because I am. Previously I have unlocked boot loader and rooted my phone and downloaded other roms and it worked fine. I have no fricken clue what happened. Please help me.. How do I s off to install another rom while I can only get into recovery mode?
What recovery did you flash?
If its not 4EXT then you need to flash the kernel using fastboot.

Im not quite sure what you mean by which recovery did I flash? Im using ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6 if that helps. What does it mean and how do I "flash the kernal using fastboot"?

The bootloader screen reads
*** Unlocked ***
Ruby PVT SHIP S-ON RL

just get the stock RUU for your phone. Re-lock your bootloader. Rename what you downloaded to PH85IMG.zip. place it in the root directory of your external SD card. reboot your phone into HBOOT and it should automatically flash the stock recovery and ROM. this WILL wipe your phone clean. then you can unlock the bootloader, root it, flash a custom recovery then a ROM of your choice.

Unlocking the bootloader won't change your phone into s-off. So, what you see is correct.
Forget about ZergRush. It won't work, or necessary at all if you unlocked your bootloader, anyway.
Edit: I forgot to mention. Try 'adb logcat' to see if your phone even gets to the boot sequence. If you see your screen gets filled up with tons of stuff, hit control-c to stop it. Then enter adb logcat > logfile.txt to capture it. You can post it here for someone to take a look.
If you can get into bootloader and/or recovery, your phone isn't in a bad shape at all. If you can access your phone from a pc with adb or fastboot (which, you should have if you've unlocked your bootloader), there are things you can try.
1. boot your phone into recovery and see if you can access it through adb shell. Do you see a shell prompt ('$' or '#' sign)? On the phone, use the mount option to mount system and data partitions to see if they are mountable. You can use 'ls -l' on the shell prompt to look around, if you like.
2. If your phone is accessible, but not bootable, the first thing I would try is to flash a boot image. You probably have one sitting in the pc folder you used to unlock, or hanson's all-in-one tool has it.
3. If you flash a fresh boot image (kernel) and the phone still won't boot up, the next thing I would try is to restore from a nandroid backup. I'm sure you've made a backup before you started, right?
4. If the nandroid restore doesn't work, you can try flashing a stock rom like someone elese suggested. You just copy the zip file, which you download from the stock rom thread in the dev section, to the external sd card, rename it to PH85IMG.zip, and reboot your phone into the bootloader. The phone will detect the stock rom if it's there and asks you whether to install the update or not. Remember to download the correct file for your carrier.
5. If nothing works, come back here and post your result. I'm afraid your phone may have a corrupt nand memory...

You used the wrong image, went about using that ota file incorrectly as well, Oh boy, ite, let's keep our fingers crossed on this.
You said your hboot was 1.93.0002? Correct? If you're s-on, this may or may not work, lets hope it does, since's it practically your only hope, though I wonder what your cid currently is set to.
Since you did s-off, you should know how to use adb. Shut the phone off via battery pull, boot up into hboot then go into fastboot, using adb check your cid via this command: fastboot getvar cid
Let me know what it is when you're done, we'll work from there, hopefully we can get this done.
sorry, forgot to pull sd card so it ran the PH85IMG twice,

Cid is 11111111 and you're s-on? Lucky you, well download the mobilicity GB stock ruu exe file, reboot into fastboot and run the file to restore your phone to complete stock GB, hopefully it goes through, though I don't see why it wouldn't, if you're s-on, you'll have to relock your bootloader before doing this.
Thanks! hopefully it'll work
downloading the GB rom from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27704071
going to relock bootloader with the amaze tool.
going to change the RUU to PH85IMG then pray it works!
I'll post an update in this thread, unfortunately the rom takes about 4 hours to download from file factory

You can download the ruu from the ruu/ota thread in the same forum, the dev host upload by krook is much faster.
Do not change the name of that file, it's an exe file, you have to run it via a pc with your phone connected via usb cable in fastboot mode.
So while trying to update to ICS my fingers were working faster than my brain (yes, it happens) and I selected a menu option while using Clockwork and, while I'm not sure, I think the option said something like, "format .. OS...something..." before I could fully read it (and stop my finger from pressing the power button), I pressed the power button.
The phone rebooted, got to the white HTC screen and stopped - stuck on the white HTC screen. I pulled the battery.
I Held down power and up-volume and got to the bootloader menu, selected recovery and Clockwork came up.
Couldn't "Recover" because it couldn't mount the SD card.
Couldn't mount the external SD card either.
Ok - tried a factory reset - Rebooted - up came the white HTC screen where it stays until I pull the battery.
I'm new at this (probably didn't need to say that, but...).
How Do I get past this point?
Is this phone agonner?
How do I load (anything) to the phone at this point?
Thanks in advance! I appreciate it.

Try using adb commands from your computer to push a recovery to your phone and go from there

If it powers on, you're not bricked.
Are s-on or s-off?
Make sure you have a card reader for the following.
The best thing for you to do would probably to flash an RUU.
First, download the latest RUU.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
If you are s-on with unlocked boot loader, relock it:
Make sure there is no PH98IMG.ZIP on your sdcard. Delete if there is one.
Power off phone completely with battery pull.
Plug in phone to computer with USB.
Go to the bootloader menu with vol down + power.
Select fastboot.
On your computer, run the following fastboot command (do whatever you needed to do to use fastboot):
fastboot oem lock
After that is done, time to install the RUU.
Find the RUU you downloaded and put it on your sdcard, then rename to PH98IMG.ZIP
Put sdcard back, then power on to bootloader.
It should now scan for the PH98IMG and then ask you to install it.
Follow all the instructions to install it.
After you finish this, you will be back to the stock ROM with a locked boot loader.
If either s-off or s-on locked bootloader

Rezound still major messed up
THANK YOU for your help, I really appreciate your response. I followed your instructions and once the PH98IMG.zip file was on the SD card I loaded bootloader and it did scan for the file, but said "no file or wrong file!" Well, the file is there so I know its not "no" file. I've tried a couple of different PH98IMG files that I found on XDA but I guess the specific file wasn't the problem.
After it gives the error message it simple goes back to the bootloader and waits.
Unlocking the bootloader and then following your instructions did result in the file being seen and, what appeared to be, the installation process beginning - however when the phone reboots for the first time it just goes quiet and never comes back up. I waited for at least 20 minutes before I decided it wasn't just a long boot process.
I"m pretty sure there is NOTHING on this phone. I've verified there's nothing on the SD card besides the PH98IMG.zip file. Assuming I've completely wiped out the OS (and it is not on the phone) is the method you've outlined the right starting point?
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas

If you are S-on and have an unlocked bootloader, you will need to relock it before attempting to flash an ruu. Once re-locked, ensure that the PH98IMG is not a zip file within a zip file which is how they are usually uploaded. Attempt to unzip the files until it will not unzip anymore. That file that won't unzip needs to be the one you rename as PH98IMG and placed on the root of your SD card. Reboot to bootloader and allow it to scan. It will ask you if you wish to proceed and you will allow it. After some time it will reboot back to bootloader to flash radios and the rest of firmware. After that process and a 2nd reboot you should he back to stock, locked, and unrooted.

Also, it could be possible that your phone can't recognize the sd card so it needs to be formatted.

zip file contents?
Maybe I should ask what the contents of the .zip file should be? I did check the zip to make sure it wasn't a double-zip. There were two versions of the PH98IMG file i tried. One had the file (imagemate-3.60.exe) the other had the file(s) (boot.img and android-info.txt).
I did "relock" the bootloader prior to trying and it would not recognize the file. When it was unlocked it would see it, start the install process, then go quiet. So that at least tells us that the file is there and likely workable.
I can't seem to get past the "No image or wrong image" message. I've tried on 3 different cards (the original and two fresh cards) and I've checked to ensure the zip is not a zip within a zip.

You should download that file from Android Police. It should have a 'bunch' of files in it. I"m not familiar with imagemate-3.60.exe but boot.img is just the kernel. Rename the file that you download to PH98img, (as previously stated) put it on a good SD card and boot into bootloader. It should go.
How about telling us if you are s-on or s-off. I don't see where you've answered that question. Also, if it doesn't work, tell us what your bootloader screen says. That will give us some info to help you.
Merry Christmas....I've got to go to bed before Santa shows up.:laugh:
EDIT: I just downloaded the Android Police file and as I said, it has a lot of files in it. I'm not sure what you were playing with but i likely the cause of you problem. Get the right file, name it ph98img.zip, put on root of SD, boot into bootloader (you're locked, right) and let it do its thing. good luck.

One thing you need to know is that a PH98IMG file can be many things. It is only the name of a file that your phone looks for to use when booted into hboot. So it can be a kernel, an entire RUU (OS), a custom recovery or ROM... basically anything. It just means that item was packed into a PH98IMG file in order to run automatically off your SD card when the phone boots.
So you need to know what the PH98IMG file is that you are using or you might flash something you don't want that can possibly cause your phone to not work properly. In your examples above one is a kernel (boot.img) and I have no idea what imagemate-3.60.exe is. It sounds like you have not had the correct file.
Here is the global RUU you should run to get you back to stock with all the latest radios and firmware:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
You need to be locked to run it so if you are S-ON, which it sounds like you are (don't remember if you mentioned that before), you need to use fastboot from your pc to do that, just like you did when you unlocked it with this command:
fastboot oem lock
***If you are S-OFF you should be locked again from that process already. But if you are S-OFF then confirm with someone to be sure it's safe to run the RUU, there's something about not relocking if you are on a certain hboot or you can brick it or something...***
Then put the RUU on your SD card and reboot the phone. Let it run through the RUU a few times because apparently it needs to do it a few times to get all the system files. Afterwards, if you want to root again and flash a custom ROM you will need to unlock again and flash a custom recovery and reroot.
It Works!
Not that I'm going to give you all the credit, because everyone kinda chipped in - however you DID provide the ONLY correct link to exactly what I needed! LORDY there are a lot of bad links being passed around. THANK YOU Ms. Feralicious, I totally appreciate your help.

Any ideas?
It's locked which means it's never been unlocked and it's s-on. A simple factory reset within the rom itself will suffice

Not sure what you're trying to do there, run an RUU?
Did you try a factory reset from the settings of the phone as Neo suggested?
Settings > Storage > Factory data reset
But back up anything you want to save such as pics, settings, etc... it will wipe everything.
same thing happens...

You still needing help?
Where did you get the PH...img file you are using? Are you sure it's an RUU?
Did you ever try resetting to factory settings within the phone? You don't need to RUU for that, check a few posts up on where to find the setting.
I am trying to update to a new ICS rom and was able to update the radio with the file PG05IMG.zip but unfortunately put it on the internal memory. The phone will no longer boot up. I can get into recovery but the phone immediately searches for the PG05IMG.zip file to update the radio and won't allow any other menu choices. Is there a way to delete the file? Is there a way to force the T-bolt into recovery? Or is there something of an .SBF file that I can flash using Odin or something.
Thanks for any help you can give.
I've never heard of someone putting the image on the system partition and it flashing. If it is still on the root of your SD card put the SD card in a reader and erase or rename the image.

Hate to say but I didn't have the sd card in the phone at the time so the file was placed onto the internal memory. The phone when connected does show in windows as being a cd drive but I cannot access it.
No you cant access system memory from a oc without using adb. Try using adb if it recognizes it and use adb pull PG05IMG.zip

don't suppose there is a quick and easy guide for the extreme noob?
Yea I'm not getting into how to install adb. It isn't hard but its to late for me to get on that right now. Google is your best friend here. Google how to setup adb for windows xx or Linux or whatever setup you have. Its fairly easy to do.

was able to delete the file. All's good in Thunderbolt land. Thanks for the assistance.
recovery tease
Ok here is the problem, rooted my tbolt after the recent update using revo.
I was able to keep "s-on" with root access etc. Had it good for about a month
then I tried to uninstall a program, it rebooted kinda funky and booted up
but without a lock screen. then it would run slow. at the time i was using smart laucher
and in my brilance I thought unistalling the laucher, it would go back to the htc sense
oem laucher....but then nothing...well not nothing, the status bar was there, so was the singal
strength, battery life. tried running recovery and my problem is, that I can get the bootloader
up but when I select recovery, I get the 2 arrowrs in a circle around a arrow pointing down
at the little phone there... then it turns to the red triangle with the "!".
tried several times. checked the sd card and removed the PG05img (whatever the zip image is),
finally tried the factory reset....just gives a long status bar, reboots after five minutes
get the thunderbolt screen to come up and it goes back to the black screen with the status
bar like above. Its like the system booted without touch screen or any type of laucher.
Now the other problem I have is usb doesn't recognize in my pc... I was bumed but
I do have a sd card reader and I have tried a few PG05IMG.zip files( the no_hboot and others)
but no good though. so far when using the fastboot method it finds the zip file tries to run an
sometimes it says in green writing, "no image found or wrong image" skips a line Parsing...
and depending on the zip file I have in root with my fingers crossed a blue status bar comes
up in the upper right corner....but still not able to get into recovery or activate the usb
to use the adb tools.
so heres what I have in bootloader:
MECHA XD SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.08.0000
MICROP-/
RADIO-2.03.00.0201r
eMMC-boot
Jun 28 2012, 14:56:09
and my options are
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY (doesn't work so far)
FACTORY RESET (still doesn't work)
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
IMAGE CRC
So anybody with clearly more knowledge than I have a way to flash an image that will repair
my recovery...or some how reenable the usb again so I can use the adb tools?

Is your bootloader locked or unlocked? Does it say some security warning?
It will be at the top when booting into the boot loader.
If its unlocked you can flash a recovery.

not sure if its a good thing or not but...
From what I've been reading on the forums so far an *****unlocked***** bootlaoder is a good thing
and somehow mine is. It would seem something did work when I rooted. I've been going through recovery options using the fastboot img method (still no usb help) I tried a cmw recovery img and got this error:
"Main Version is older!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot"
:silly::silly::silly:
far as I know I am renaming the zip correctly and the hboot does try and read it.
at this point.. if there was a PG05IMG file I could use or make to flash back into the factory settings etc. I would do that and start over.
I just know if I get into recovery do a wipe and flash a new rom, could be ok. or at least get usb functioning so i can use adb. I was actually starting to enjoy the command line.
I also had a thought since the bootloader is unlocked but still has "S-ON" if that might be a issue with flashing a recovery?
You need to get s off first to flash PG05IMG files from fastboot

I believe they have it working on the latest ICS hboot as well

Okay so after looking over at least 6 forms for androids, recovery, how to fastboot, flashing images etc. I came across a forum that had a step by step instruction on how to basically force usb to to work. it said it was a last resort if revo didn't give you recovery. from here: "naw forums search how to manually gain recovery.
"This should only be done if you cannot get revolutionary to successfully flash recovery for you.
1. download this pack
(sorry can't post links yet, I'm still noob)
2. extract it, so it is no longer zipped up
3. copy the unzipped folder, and paste it on the root of your c drive
4. plug your phone into your computer. turn it off. then hold volume down and the power button until you are in the bootloader. it should say revolutionary at the top. highlighted in red, it should say fastboot usb. if it says hboot, push the power button, and it should change to fastboot usb.
5. on your computer, click start, in the search bar if on win7 type cmd. if xp, click run, then type cmd
6. a command prompt should be opened. type..
cd c:\ThunderboltRecovery
(press enter)
7. then type
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.5-mecha.img
(press enter)
fastboot reboot
(press enter)
8. your phone should reboot, and you should have recovery!"
this method got the usb working some how (I say some how because adb wasn't working before) and basically forced a new recovery onto the bootloader, i was able to get in, wipe a few things, and about an 6 hours or so ( some of those downloads took FOREVER) i was flashed back to stock with full recovery and with superbackup all contacts and favorite apps came back.
One little hiccup not mention on that page. it maybe be common sense to the veteran user of android smart phones but when going back to stock, the radios ( your 4GLTE, gps etc) will not work properly, it will start off 4GLTE, then drop to 3G and then 1! I got my radio's from: teambamf.net and look for ics radio leaks. downloaded the radio zip, (this only took a minute) placed on sd card, renamed
PG05IMG (my favorite zip) and flashed using hboot. just followed the instructions and no more signal issues.
Thanks for the help. Good to know you aren't alone when something goes wrong.
You should now go grab the radios from our first official ics ota. They are much better than those leaked radios.

Hi I am new to Android. I bought an HTC Amaze 4G by T-Mobiles.
I was playing with the device just to get familiar with options and settings. Made recovery tried a few custome roms and recovered the stock rom twice. Somehow i messed up and bricked my phone (not sure exectly what i did exectly).
Now i when i boot the phone i get stuck on the HTC logo. When i go to recovery mood i goes to the twrp options but i cant flash rom from sd card because it gives me "unable to mount internal storage error". I do perform the 4 wipes before flashing.
The worst thing is i cant even connect it to the PC via usb although i have all the drivers up to date.
PC doesnot recognize the device.
What option do I have before throwing this device into the distbin and get a new one? Will have to ask my dad for extra pocjet money
Please someone tell me the detailed steps as i am not that familiar with all the technical words used in Android world.
Thanks in advance

First off, if you're a newbie why didn't you take the time to read through the threads and familiarize yourself with the device before flashing? Where are you located? Are you sure it's a T-Mobile version Amaze and not an unbranded or Asian version? Are you S-off or S-on? Which ROM were you flashing when things went haywire? Why are you using TWRP when the recovery recommended by most devs here is 4ext with smart-flash enabled?
You've had a bad flash and now recovery is no longer recognizing or mounting your SD partitions, so it's booting into safe mode. You aren't going to be able to use your recovery since safe mode won't flash all of the partitions you need to recover your backup. You're going to need to establish a USB connection and using ADB or the amaze toolkit (which is a GUI for some ADB commands) take control of your device and either push a recovery image or set things up back to stock and start over.
To solve your issue look and read the various "pinned" threads at the top of the forums. The easiest way to recover from this is to go back to the factory image. In one of pinned threads is a link to a page with the stock image downloads. You need the correct one for your device (which is why I asked if you're sure it's T-Mobile). If you flash the wrong image you'll brick your phone. You need to HTC-dev relock your bootloader to flash (s-on or s-off doesn't matter). Do so with the toolkit or using appropriate ADB commands. Once you're relocked and sure as to which device you have, place the image in the root of your SD-card and flash from hboot in the bootloader. When the process is finished you'll have the device returned to factory stock. Then you have to re-unlock the bootloader again and reroot to flash other ROMs.
I hope this helps.

Rename the RUU to PH85IMG.zip and place it on the root of your external SDcard. Once this file is on the SDcard, do a battery pull, then turn the device back on while holding down the volume button. it will prompt you to install, select yes

I see you're s-off from the photos. I've already explained how to recover. You need to download the correct factory image for your device and place it in the root of your external SD card, relock your bootloader, then flash via hboot in your bootloader. Then afterwards you'll be back to stock again. You'll have to accept the OTAs to get back the latest radio Then you can unlock and reroot again. This time use 4ext instead of TWRP. You should be good to go.

I don't know if it was mentioned, but you can always pull the external sdcard and put it in a card reader and copy files from the computer to it.
Then you can boot to bootloader and flash your ph85img.zip

You need to check your devices Forum and also check out the TWRP thread there as well.
This is the HTC Amaze forum and it's been dead for some time now...
