Droid life is reporting that AT&T scored the 64 GB exclusive for the One.
Wow if true that's total bull. Why hasn't HTC learned exclusive deals are not in its favor?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
Extremely disappointed if this is true, ridiculous. Don't launch a handset carrier wide giving the higher memory version exclusivity to one carrier. I use more than 32GB, and this is awful to hear now.

But everyone is getting the 32 GB version.
Remember that last year, ATT and sprint received the one. And the ugly evo.
Most people won't buy the 64 anyways.

Prolly this statement will be only applicable in the US. As I know HTC @ facebook confirmed that 64gb will be also shipped on Asia. In fact taiwan is already selling a 64gb version which makes this statement false if it's talking about global releases.

I'm also on AT&T but don't like this cause that means not everyone in the US will have this as an option and will potentially consider jumping to the S4. And we can't have Samsung winning this round . . . but for us consumers if no one can keep up/surpass them on the android front.

It doesn't matter. Samsung is going to win 'this round' by far anyway. Just enjoy the phone you have. It isn't a contest.

Has anything HTC has done made sense? It's no wonder they're in the ****ter.
Im certain it was AT&T who forced the exclusivity.
So lets see.
I HTC want to gain market share and stop loosing money.
I HTC make blunder after blunder.
I HTC Limit my consumers choices to 32gb only so what my customers will go buy a Galaxy s4 with more storage?
I want to be like Apple and dictate terms yet I Cave into Exclusives.
HTC's strategy is for the carriers to carry them. While there primary focus should be to increase marketing develop better devices that are more user friendly and easier to upgrade (Hint removable battery) Create secondary markets so more people can push there name via accessories and have a secondary benefit of also pushing your phones name.
Look at Samsung and how much there name is pushed by accessory makers as well as carriers and there own marketing.
Larger batteries
Micro SD Cards
Cases
Back covers with different colors materials.
If Htc wants to compete and "The one is a Truce device amongst all carriers like apple etc" Then all carriers should have the option of 64GB as well.
Also the irony of it that they give the 64gb version to the only launch carrier that data throttles.
What I find funny is that a 17 Billion dollar company with 17K+ Employee's can not even make a phone on schedule or stick to there original plan of a Unified phone across all carriers. Naw lets just give ATT 64GB!
HTC's biggest mistake is that there on a LEASH, They are the dog while the Carrier is walking them. The ONE is there attempt of breaking past that leash yet they still do these silly exclusive things.
Hey HTC,
Cut some expenses dump more money into marketing make people want your device then let everyone have it all on all carriers. You don't see apple putting Verizon logo's on there iphone do you?
Fact is that you still don't learn from your mistakes and your begin carried right now to survive.
If this is true then I might have to change my decision. I'd have liked the One but I said from the beginning that if a 64gb version isn't available on Sprint I'll go with the GS4.
Disheartening

I'm just happy to have more options to get my mits on a 64GB NAM LTE variant. Worst case this means I can walk into an AT&T or Best Buy store and buy one of these when I travel to the US and purchase with no commitment (if I have to).
Well they just made my decision to wait for the note 3 an easier one...Such a shame that they are so helpless to allow this to continue to happen to them.

I don't believe you can blame someone for offering. Blame should be placed on HTC for accepting that offer. Certain amount of stupidity too.
Or maybe it was blackmail! "We won't carry your phone at all unless you give us exclusive access to the 64gb version!" Lol. Just kidding.
I hope this is just for the release and sprint will later down the road get the 64gb. Because of not adding a SD card. The only thing making me over look the SD not being as the 64gb as I have the evo lte with build in 16gb and a 64gb SD card. Come on HTC wake up....... Thanks matsudo

Hi guys,
Sorry for oot (rather than i make a new thread),but i really need your input about rezound.
I'm planning to have one,but i have a little doubt on it.
I know that rezound has a high clock cpu but it is a bit outdated than S4 or omap 4460,will this perform well until years ahead?
I read somewhere in this forum that developers are leaving,is that true? (i'm a flashaholic)
Since cdma operator is cheaper than gsm,and i have not much option to choose a good cdma/global phone in here,so what do you guys thinking?
Really appreciate for your input.

There are Sense 3.6 roms/ Sense 4.0 roms, a MIUI rom, and ROMs that attempt to de-sense as best they can and use Apex for an AOSP feel.
While it is true that we don't have many devs left, HTC should release the ICS kernel source and rumor has it that AOSP/AOKP/CM9 could get RIL working with the kernel source. I shouldn't get your hopes up too much for that happening though because the one person who said he would do that got mad and left. Whether he decides to release it is up to him.
I preordered it. I got my rezoned on my sisters line because she didn't order a phone for 2 years (serious). My line has been free since March. I'll keep which ever one I like more but if the GS3 battery is way better that will be enough.
I may. So much infighting, off topic, and red hot developer on developer action here, with few updates on the few remaining roms.
Then there's all the developers being pushed away by the negativity too.
I'm not saying it won't be any different on the other phones, but it should have a really big following.
I was hoping for CM9 months ago, to finally get all of my devices on one ROM, but that looks like it won't happen anytime soon.
I can afford it these days.
Love my Rezound though.

Yea not to mention our cdma phones' gsm international counterparts always sell for higher since there is a greater, international demand for them and they are not locked to the united states only for the most part. Anyone thinking they'll get more than $500 for this phone is dreaming. I don't care if its mint or unopened, I'd still rather get it from my initial order than second hand if I'm going to spend that money.

The S3 is massively inferior to the S4. How much it matters though, I dunno. The Rezound unfortunately is old news, and devving is petering out.

Forgot to add I'm buying it at subsidized price so I'll make around 500$ profit. Also I was gonna get the 32GB one so I rounded up. So if you wanna get technical $649.99--semantics my friend. Probably not losing as much as you think. Plus if you buy all the accessories and S crap they'll be making bank $$. $200 for Rezound $130 for Nexus sounds legit loool.
I'm also skeptical about this, got email from samsung and decided to search on xda and here i am. For my rezound its 200, but they are also offering $135 for my Hero S. Is this legit?
$15 for my Fascinate. Wowza. $200 for the Rez wouldnt be bad if we could get the GSM Nexus from google, but it wouldn't do much good if still w/ Verizon.
Before you guys get all excited about this, you should go to the Verizon S III forums and read about the issues that phone has. Horrible signal reception, locked bootloader, as well as other issues.

This is interesting...it appears Samsung is going for market penetration with the phone and trying to get as many people on the phone as they can, then allowing customers to sell to customers. Only downside I've heard is the signal quality, and even that I've only heard about on the forums. I can't tell you how many people I know have switched to the GS III. And every one of them is just giddy about their new GS III. This is people who previously couldn't care less about their phone, very non-technical. At least in my smallish circle, it's quickly becoming the iPhone of Android. Wonder if that's Samsung's plan...
Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy with my Rezound with no intention of changing. Just making an observation.

Depending on your area, T-Mobiles "4G" (HSPA+) is just as fast in the real world as LTE, especially from Sprint. Not a killer imo.
$300 superphone phone off contract? That is not moving backwards.
Personally Im not going anywhere due to this ol' contract of mine. But if they keep this up, switching to T-Mobile and $30 a month bill with a $300 superphone sounds really freaking great to me. Will have to see what it looks like next year though.

I understand you having an opinion, but being how this is the internet, and I disagree with it, I feel obligated to try and change your opinion to my way of thinking, even though I know it to be a fruitless endeavor.

The Nexus 4 runs a quad core S4 (with Adreno 320, not our stopgap 225), 2 gigs ram, 720p RGP Stripe screen , bluetooth 4.0, USB host, and all the sensors you could want, plus built in inductive charging.
How is that not a superphone? It outspecs/ties anything on the market, certainly anything based on the S4 Plus like our EVOs, and I still consider my phone to be a superphone. If storage is such a concern, bring a thumbdrive with you for your offline media, it doesnt change the fact that the guts of the phone are the best you can find on the market shy of the Nexus 10.

Lack of an SD card isn't a deal breaker for me. I rarely store music or movies on my phone anyway.
After moving through multiple Samsung Phones and now an Evo, I'm just tired of waiting months for an OS update. I will probably switch to buying Nexus devices exclusively when my contract is up.
The fact that the unlocked Nexus is not much more than I usually pay for a subsidized phone may be the reason I switch off of Sprint.

Agreed. I've always had good experiences with call and signal quality with Nokia, from the 6820 and other TDMA phones back in the late 90s and early 00s to the Symbian-based stuff from a while back. If they put some quality Android-based phones together and offered them with a decent custom interface (like Sense) and unlocked, I think they'd make a pretty strong showing.

Ha, I have its big brother the Nokia 6800. That's not a typo, I still have it right here on my desk
I couldn't help but thinking that I have this power to kill phone manufacturers.
My first cell phone back in the mid 90s was the Siemens S3+ and then briefly the S4 (I bet not a lot of people here even know that Siemens used to make cell phones).
After that, I had a couple of Ericsson phones, the GH 337 and the GF 788 (you know how that story ends, they were swallowed by Sony, and then dumped).
Right after that, I became a huge Nokia + Symbian fanboy, the 6800, 6620, N80, E51, E63, E75 (and look at what happened to Nokia and Symbian).
Then three years ago I bought a Dell Streak (the first android phone with 5" screen that nobody really knows about. the following year, Dell stopped making phones).
Finally last week I got myself an HTC One. Look out HTC!!

The HTC One is selling well. From here on out they should be fine.
If not Samsung will probably buy them out and HTC can design the phone while Samsung focuses on the guts.

I mostly agree with your statement, but I believe it will take more than one flagship to get them turned around and charging towards the front. Maybe after 1 or 2 more flagship they will really be doing well. I just can't see one phone having enough time to turn an entire company around. Especially after they bombed out hard with the HTC First. That was a huge mistake for them to try and even sell that phone.

What does this mean for us? If anything?

It means that there will be a vanilla htc one or one like device and because of that the devs will (hopefully) be able to make aosp/aokp roms with very few to no bugs at all. Basically it's makes the job easier for the devs and the experience better for us.

Ever since I switched to Android, all I had were Samsungs...this is my first HTC android device and Im loving it so far. So to read articles about HTC and the tough times they're having is saddening. Samsung is the Apple of androids...the galaxy line is well known which is both bad and good. I really hope the HTC One can and will save this company because we need beautiful phones in the variety of androids. I like having choices!

Well lets hope that doesn't happen. We need both company and not just one.

Idk about all of you but I see a heck of a lot of S4s on Craigslist and not too many HTC Ones. Craigslist has been a great indicator for me in the past. I got this one for a note 2 and am glad I got out of Samsung when it is where I believe is at the top before a fall.
