Hi all!
I flashed I9300XXDLJ2_I9300XEFDLJ2_I9300XXDLID_HOME.tar.md5 by odin on my sgs3 and it doesn't boot, stays on samsung logo. I already reflashed and with other firmware too. Nothing solved it. What can i do??

Same here. Flashed the early AOKP ROM and had problems with the .gapps FCs so I flashed back the stock ROM. I hope we can make some headway on resetting the flash counter.
Anybody else?

Hey Guys,
After flashing a Custom ROM, i went to restore all my apps from Titanium backup but it gave me the warning that my device's 'Android ID' has been changed and gave me the options to restore the old one/ask later/keep the current one.
Does anyone know the best way to proceed?
Yes, hit restore, it will reboot, job done

Is it necessary to restore Android ID? I always ignore it and haven't notice any problem yet.

I think it applies to root protected apps ie banking etc, so if you don't have these I don't think you will get problems

try fixing permissions
Also, you may try flashing a diffrrent kernel

Tomorrow after charging... gonna do wipe battery stats and fix permission (what does this fix permission do actually?)... if then I have no succes... I'll flash a stock rom.
Btw I think he restarts in the sleep or wake proces... Though I never play with overclocking and undervolting.
Thanks for the quick replies!

Flashing a stock ROM would do no good. I suggest you flash a full stock firmware because I had the same problem with you back with my s2 and i just flashed another kernel and it did the job

Yeah actually I meant stock firmware. But the wipe battery stats and fix permissions did it for me... niice! Thanks xda!

It was fix permissions that did it, battery stats are wiped whenever you charge the phone.

hello all,
i imported a phone from UK and the person i bought it from was dump enough to put a pattern lock on the phone, i tried contacting him but he is very stupid to answer the call. Is there any way through which i can hard reset the phone or do anything to get over the passcode?
i don't have the guys email id and password due to obvious reasons.
You could go into recovery mode and wipe data/cache basically factory resetting the phone.
Get into recovery by powering off the phone and pressing the following volume down+home+power.

Try flashing a stock Rom with Odin.
Have a look for the guides in these forums.

Wouldn't help as settings and setup don't get changed so pattern security would still be intact.

I went into the recovery by holding volume up+home button+power key and wiped data, now everything is good

Its not always the same case, stolen phones can be tracked in a glimpse and no one would want to go there

Well I gave him the benefit of the doubt plus if it is stolen they'll just report it stolen and the imei will be blocked and then it's a fancy paper weight.

Lol, changing an imei is not very hard. But anyway he would have found the trick.

It's hard for someone who doesn't know how to get around a pattern lock
mikep99 didn't help a burglar, because everything he said could be found if the OP had spent 5 minutes searching the forums. The answer for everything is here already. Sometimes one needs to add 1 + 1, but the answer is there.

Return it to the vendor unless its you that broke it .

Basically I rooted it, flashed cwm and then when I tried to flash a rom, the installation failed so I just decided to reboot the phone. It was at that point that it just wouldn't turn back on, not even into recovery. I did get a new one though
