This has been a problem since google music first became available. It only seems to sync one way (desktop to cloud). If I delete a song in my music folder it remains in Google music. Same happens if I edit a songs tags. Is there any way to get it to sync both ways. The desktop program says it's "monitoring" my music folder so why is it not deleting songs out of the cloud when I delete them from my desktop? Very frustrating.
??
wondering the same - listening in if anyone has an answer...
This is the 3rd time I've posted about it since Google music and there is no more info on this topic on the Web now than there was then :/

Hi there, I have a lot of music downloaded into Google Play, but I was wondering if there was a way I could go into the settings with a computer to find the files and copy it from there, and put it into the music folder? Is there a way I could do that? So I could delete the google play app, I don't like that it will automatically edit the music on the phone if you did it on the computer.
Another reason is that I like the music widget, and I want that to appear for all my songs, not just in my phone. So I want to move all my music that is downloaded to google play music to my phone. Does that make sense? And is there a way to do so?
Google Music songs are stored online at "Google Music"

I know that, I downloaded it to my device so now it is stored on the phone memory in the app itself. Is there a way to transfer that into the music folder?
Easiest way is just to download it onto your computer then transfer across.
When you say you downloaded it to your device, did you do it through the app and select songs to keep for offline listening? If you did that, then the files saved aren't actually the music files. I'm not sure what they are, but they are only readable by Google Music.
What you can do (to build off of madflier's post) is go to the Music Manager on your desktop, and there will be a tab to download some or all of your music from Google Music onto your computer. You can then move the music into a folder on your phone and listen there.

Thank you bro, I did it, and it worked perfectly!!!
Hello,
Not sure if this is a proper question for here. I used Google Music Manager to sync my iTunes music from my computer to my GS4. IT seemed to be working great (16,000+ songs) but recently I realized I'm missing some songs. I have several playlists and they are not fully synced. For example I have a playlist with 16 songs and only 10 songs are in the playlist on my GS4. To make things even more odd, if I log into Google play Music on the website, that same playlist shows only 9 songs?!?!
Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? I love the aspect of this app but not sure why it won't fully work. I have gone thru all settings and hit refresh on all devices with no luck.

I use Google Play music in my Android head unit in my car to stream my music library as well as cache the songs locally.
Today I added my girlfriend's google account so we can stream her music in the car, but unfortunately when I added her Google account to Google Play Music, all the cached music from my account was deleted. It doesn't mention this when you add the second account, but it does warn you when you actually toggle between them in Play Music.
Are any of you familiar with a workaround for this issue? I would like to be able to toggle between both accounts and cache songs from both accounts to my device.

Well, that's was weird I don't think that it should get deleted try opening the Google Play Music Application> Open the Menu>Settings>Google Account . Switch the Google Account back to your and you will start seeing the music purchases you have made ! And by the time you switch back to your girlfriend google account you will see the music purchases she has made. Try doing it ! I am sure it will work out for you :fingers-crossed:

Just to clarify, all my Google Play music is uploaded myself, not purchased. When I switch accounts in Google Play Music, it warns me that all downloaded music will be deleted. And it does delete them... after switching back to my account and enabling "Downloaded Only" music, it's all gone.
This sucks because I'd like to have as much cached music as possible for when I don't have data accessible. Would it maybe be possible to use a second music player app for listening to my girlfriend's content?
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for preventing duplicates showing in Google Play Music.
I have my primary music collection uploaded to Google Play Music (cloud stored), and I also have a handful of song stored locally on my device. The songs on my device are used as alarm tones, etc.
I have found that having songs stored locally & on the Google Music cloud, will cause duplicates. Just wondering if anyone knows a way to get Google Play Music to consolidate each track entry within Google Play Music, so the cloud & local tracks only show as a single listing.
Using the .NoMedia file in my devices music directory is not an option, as this prevents my alarm app from detecting the local songs.
Thanks for any help.
I'm hoping to get some advice/suggestions as to the best iTunes-esque desktop based music manager to use to organise and sync playlists on my phone. I do have a subscription for Youtube Music so I do use that to listen to music most of the time but I also like to have my music collection and playlists remotely on my phone too.
Previously, I have used MusicBee to do this and I have all of my songs, album art and playlists organised on there but it can be a bit frustrating when it comes to syncing as sometimes instead of just transferring the new songs, it'll just start syncing the whole library as if nothing is on the phone.
Any suggestions for a good desktop-based music manager or alternatively, any other solutions to best manage the files onto my phone?

I may have misunderstood your question, but YouTube Music has an Android app you can use to remotely have all of your songs, playlists, etc... And on your pc if you have chrome, you can download the YouTube Music chrome app.
And if you want an alternative to YT Music go for Spotify, they have a PC and Android software.
Again, I think I totally missed your point so please clarify (or tell me I didn't missed the point lol)
Have a good one
