I just wanted to root my phone and i read the following quote from user pleomaxell!
You can easily root your Sola in Flashtool now.
Just fastboot the .10 Kernel then use Flashtool to Root your Sola and then fastboot the .54 kernel and you are done.

dude you dont need to unlock your bootloader to make the tutorial work..i've done it twice on my girlfriend's device and thrice on my old sola and i never had any hiccups..
flash the kernel in flashmode, not fastboot mode
You only need to unlock the BL if you want to flash certain customs roms like Cyanogenmod , for rooting (and installing most custom roms) you need to boot in flashmode (not fast boot), and flash the kernel in that mode.
So
flash old kernel in flashmode
root
flash .54 in flash mode, again.
i take it u didn't read the part where it says u will lose all content and tried to be a smart aleck and went straight for the Continue button eh? have fun

please can anyone help me to unlock my boot loader step by step in an easy way either with the latest flash tool or any other tool ?
please anyone knew help us with a step by step explanation .
Thanks,
there is one One touch tool to unlock bootloader but the thing is u need to be on 2.1 then it can unlock bootloader easily !! if u can flash 2.1 then search for the one touch tool i dont remember the name exactly but u can search the forums for it !!
If you go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 and download flashtool you can unlock with one click of button. You need to be on stock kernel to do this. or unlock button will be grayed out
Edit: Is your phone sim locked or unlocked? If it is unlocked u need to check with s1tool if you can actually unlock this way (it can break your device). Info for this is here:

No.even 2.3.3 also can unlock bootloader using Flashtool.
Here's the easiest step.
1.Download the latest flashtool.
2.Flash the phone to stock SE 2.3.3 ROM.
3.Root Your Phone
4.Click Plugin & unlock your bootloader.
Thats all.

Search forum for s1tool and follow. Also (not sure if this is accurate or not) type on keypad *#*#service#*#*, go on service info, software info & check s1 boot version it has few numbers then r8a033. If the r Is lower case (like above) then I believe u have unlocked. Even easier after I type all this flash doom kernel for unlock bl if se logo is replaced by dooms boot pic then u unlocked allow

yes now you have unlocked bootloader even if you flash any rom
you're good to go
You see, firmware and boot-loaders are two different things all together, once you've unlocked a boot-loader it's "unlocked" even if you install Stock Firmwares. There is a way to lock the boot-loader back again though, which requires a different process all together !!
Hi,
I have a WT19i with Three UK.. *yada yada*
I got this phone because I wanted something new that looks good and works well, Since February and now I have discovered - I don't like the UI and I can't stand the screen.
Basically all I'm looking to do is unlock my bootloader so I can flash MIUI or CM9 but apparently, Three aren't going to let me unlock it. I checked in the service menu and it shows that the bootloader unlock is not allowed which really sucks.
I was going to do the testpoint method or official but after reading up, testpoint on a phone with 'Bootloader unlock allowed: No' can brick it..
Does anyone know if this is true? I'm seriously considering trying it anyway with S1 boot of whatever.. I can't stand this stupid software and UI anymore.
Thanks!
You need to use paid method to unlock your phone and enable fastboot. After that can bootloader be unlocked.

Incorrect if done with code at the operator.
Only WotanServer, Omnius and these providers unlock both(at once I think, not sure).
To install custom ROM, install the custom kernel provided with the ROM, enter recovery and install the ROM.
Kernel installation is included in my tutorial, link in signature.

So will I have to unlock my bootloader some other way?
Installing kernels is just using the boot.img in the roms .zip through fastboot isn't it? Done it before on my old GT540 many times What command is it on the LWW?
I used to use flash boot boot.img?
Thanks

I might just do it through Omnius now.. Going to assemble a safety pin and wire!

1. Unlock the bootloader(recommended test point method)
2. Flash custom karnel (don't need to install cwm after flashing custom karnel. Just turn on the phone and press vol down key continuously)
3. Flash custom rom from cwm
4. Don't need to root ur phone after flashing coz custom rom is always prerooted.

To install a custom rom that is not stock based you need to unlock your bootloader, but that will void your warranty (it doesn't if you use the testpoint method, but it's harder than official method)
Please read some guides/tutorials that are sticked in general section to get more information

First of all, I'm spanish, my apologizes of my expresions or misspelling.
That's what I've done:
1 - I've checked if my bootloader was unlockable, and my phone say's: NO
2 - Then I've installed the DualRecovery W/O root and with my phone bootlocked.
3 - Then I've tryed to flash CM11 in TWRP recovery, flashing first the Boot.img via fastboot.
4 - Device in Red Light.
What I can do to woke up my Z2? That's my record 2 hrs to **** my phone. :silly:
Firstly, it's stated in the first post of the CM11 thread that you shouldn't be using dual recovery. If you read the thread further, you'll see that it is recommended to use the recovery in DooMKernel to flash. And this requires unlocked bootloader.
Anyways, you can try using Flashtool to flash a stock firmware. Might be able to recover your phone.

If your BL is locked, you cannot install CM.... coz you cannot install a custom kernel. you should rebuild your phone using SEUS to put a good ROM.
Then you can put whatever ROM you want for LB and root it. but no custom kernel.
