So i didn't see any threads about this and thought i'd post on it. I use VNC every day at work and i love how easy it is to connect to my laptop at home. but what if i want to access my laptop or my work computer and i'm not home? VNC Mobile is the answer. Pretty sweet little app that works just like the regular VNC Viewer. View is scaleable from 1/5 of the sever to 1:1 ratio or even 200% zoom. you can push ctrl, alt, and function commands as well. pretty sweet free app.

I have had all sorts of fun with this at work. I would walk to someone's machine, see them locked out, log into the server from my phone and unlock them. Also at home I use VNC to control Winamp and do other basic PC functions from the phone. On the road I use Browseamp and Shoutcast! to control and stream music to my phone and using a homehacked adapter play and charge the phone in my truck.
Have you compared this to RealVNC's WinMo beta client? That's what I'm currently using and it's the only one I've found that worked.
Post a link please....

I am looking for a remote control/keyboard/remote desktop app. I have seen several of them in the market, but I have a specific want and I don't know if any will do this.
I want to be able to sit in the livingroom and control my PC that is attached to my TV. I currently use a wireless keyboard, but the biggest issue with that is the text is too small, and I basically have to walk over to the tv to use it. I know there are settings for large fonts, etc, but I use the PC for several things and that change is impracticable.
So what I am hoping for is to have my G Tab in my lap and be able to see the computer screen and control it using the g tab... BUT also be able to see what I am clicking on and the results of those clicks on the TV/PC.
When I use Remote Desktop, it logs off the TV/monitor connection and only routes the video to what ever device is logged in... I want it on both devices. Maybe like the remote tech support people can do on some PC's.
Can you point me in the right direction for an app like that.
I use remotedroid. Works perfectly with the gtab

I looked at this, and it does look cool but I already have a wireless keyboard, with a trackball built in. I like the idea, but it is not what I am looking for.
I am looking for a program that when you look at the G Tab you see the computer screen, and when you look at the monitor/tv you see the same thing. Then you can use the tablet as the control. All movement and visuals are repeated on both screens. Like having dual monitors except 1 is the touch screen tablet. I think PhoneMyPC would do it, but I am not sure.
I use PocketCloud VNC. It seems quite smooth. You might not want VNC though, but it would solve your text size issues, I think.
But Pocket Cloud does not show both screens at once, as the OP is desiring, does it?
boufa, there was a thread around here recently about using the g-tab as a second monitor, so I know it works like that; but I don't know how to control the PC from the g-Tab while seeing both screens. I'm using Pocket Cloud as well.
You guys are great, pointed me in the rough direction, and found TeamViewer.
It looks to do exactly what I want it to do. Full clone of the desktop via Wifi or 3g. I was supprized that it was free for non-commercial use.
I tested it and it works good on my HTC Inspire over 3g, I won't have my G Tab until tomorrow night so I cannot test it until then. I'll report back.
Is there any kind of App that allows sms to go to a mac for easier replying?
Via wifi or bt is fine
airdroid
thats a nice one, but i mean more along the lines of it comes in and you get a separate program to allow control. like tablet talk for the acer a500
mighty text
airdroid is better though... and why do you need a separate application on your comp? just use a browser window
Not a true fan of the browser part.

what's the difference? its still an extra window. as long as you are using chrome or Firefox the experience is flawless

I'm looking for a remote desktop client for my transformer prime. i tried many from the market and they all have some annoying issues that make it really unusable on day-to-day.
for example, pocket cloud, when u try to click on a scroll bar and drag the pointer in order to simply scroll the window the entire screen is dragged and there is no way to lock it.
do you guys use any client with the dock? which do u prefer? does it fullfill all ur needs?
Splashtop comes with it, works great otherwise I use TeamViewer

You don't mention what you are trying to connect to - VNC, RDP? Windows? Mac? Linux?
Personally I have found Jump Desktop to be really good. Supports both RDP and VNC, and has full mouse support including scroll wheel ,right click etc.
After Jump, I found Remote VNC Pro and Remote RDP Pro to be good.
I have never used Splashtop as it requires a desktop component that only runs on Windows so is no use to me.
Hope this helps.
BTW, there is an existing long thread on this very subject which it would have been better for all if you had looked for rather than opening another one.
2x remote works great and it is free rdp, the built in splashtop hd is even quicker but it does not blank out the computer you are controlling. i reccomend itap mobile rdp client to my customers who need ts gateway support but it costs 15 bucks. all these apps support right click, but 2x is by far my favorite.

Why would you use an actual scrollbar with pocket cloud? Why not use its native scroll feature in the pointer control thingie?

Awesome!!! I definitely didnt know splashtop came with it (never really tried Asus apps).
It is million times better than any free app for remote desktop i've used so far.
You made my Transformer Prime make sense again

You are definitely right! The most seamless client is 2x remote. Right click works out of the box, don't have to emulate it by holding left click.
Splashtop is definitely good, I hope I can make sound redirect work. But the fact that the mouse cursor don't follow android's, make it difficult to hover for hints, etc, but it works on 2x. I hope I can explore the gaming side of it, at some point.
The 15 bucks one, well, now i don't see any need to spend this much.
Thanks a lot!!!!
What about VNC? Can anyone point me to a good vnc client? One that possibly support right click and doesn't drag the whole screen when I'm instinctively trying to drag and drop something?
EDIT:
Or any client that has a linux server, and is decent.

Remote VNC Pro I have found to be really good
Hello´s 2 all
1. Any suggestions for the best Docking station for an S3, I need one for my office desktop that I can easily slot my s3 into, with USB to recharge and remote control via Windows 7 PC.
2. Also it would be top$ is anyone has ideas to the best software/app that would give me full remote control from the PC over the S3 so that I can utilize my Windows 7 PCs Keyboard and mouse to use the S3's apps, phone, SMS etc. ?
Have tried to search the foras here but the search seems down for service.. And I cant get Google/Play to display the needed results
Airdroid is a pretty good android control app, it doesn't do exactly what you're asking, but it allows you to manages files, send texts emails and all sorts of stuff from a nice web browser interface.
As for best docking station, check the accessories forum for the i9300, there is a thread there for best accessories

Thanks
I will give Airdroid a try, all ready got DroipTop that does something similar and if I root my S3 Droidtop can do remote control, screen shoots, but I am not to happy under the warant and so on to root my s3 at the current time.
Another one I have tried is Teamviewer "TV QuickSupp" app, witch is slow and only works over mobiledata network, if this worked over USB/WIFI it would be just what I was looking for
I started out writing my question in the i9300 accessories forum, but noticed that questions was not allowed :-/
