[Q] need help with mod SystemUI - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi!
I need a bit of info from you guys.
I'm trying to mod systemUI from stock JB, ruxuma and I can't find anything clear about the procedure.
as I understand first deodex, mod systemUI, odex back and flash?
I'm not getting the last part, odex back and flash...
do I have to delete systemUI.odex when I flash the mod systemUI?
does the mod systemUi needs to be odexed back to flash it on stock Rom?
thank you!

Deodex,mod it,rebuild apk with apktool.
Now if your rom is stock odex, push the new systemUI.apk to /system/app,set it's perm to rw-r-r and finally remove SystemUI.odex from /system/app.
If your rom is deodexed, you can leave the deleting odex part.
Note:After modding, don't forget to add the meta-inf folder from original app to modded app.

Thank you so much for your reply!
Another thing now, do i have to odex back the Moded SystemUI or i can push it odexed and only delete the SystemUI.odex?
And if I have to odex it back what procedure would you recommend?
Thank you again for looking into that!

You don't have to odex back the modded SystemUI.apk.Just push it in,set perm and remove SystemUI.odex if it exists. Finally reboot your phone.

[Request] MMS.apk

My Messaging application is gone.
Can anybody upload the file and share it to me? please?
thank you!
(CM7.2 by Lovetz)
You can extract it yourself if u have any CM7.2 rom with you.Look up mms.apk in system/app of that rom.
Use root explorer to put it in system/app in your phone and set permissions to rw-r--r-- and just reboot.

Download this www.4shared.com/android/FTBFZ7cO/SignedSettings_DXLC1.html and rename it to settings.apk then replace this with stock settings.apk by root explorer and change the permission to w-w-w-r it is more smart then stock. Just forget about you lost odex file.

Only few framework files are odexed in stock fw, not entire fw, so no need to deodex just to replace some system app
Can you please tell me the name of those apps madfysh???please

Name of what apps? Odex ones?
Maybe the one which have .odex files next to them?
I told you "few framework files" in my last post, have you even checked framework folder?
Once again, odexed/deodexed doesn't matter when you replace system apps, unless you are changing app which is odexed at that moment.

stock roms are odexed..
means some system .apk have .odex files..
i don't know what it does but people say odex rom takes less time to boot..
deodex roms doesn't have .odex files..
deodex roms saves lot of system memory..but takes time for first time boot as it generates some information n dalvic cache...!
you can check if your rom is odex or deodex...just head to /system/app and see if there are any files with .odex extension.
if no odex files means deodexed rom
google will tell you better than me about odex and deodexed rom. !
