Been trying to find a good photo folder app since the DNA stock app leaves much to be desired. Any suggestions?
Also looking for a wallpaper setter app that doesn't crop wallpaper. Suggestions
Check out droidiris+
It's a paid app, but it's absolutely brilliant.
It will suffice both of your needs.

Yes got the app great but it takes my 540 x 960 wallpaper and enlarges it. I chose that size because I like it on one screen rather than a scrolling wallpaper, am I making sense??

I'm quite fond of the stock app... What exactly do you dislike about it?
It puts all the photos in 1 folder and doesn't make separate folders. You can't add a wall paper that is full screen, crops it

Ah; I see. I only use it as a gallery. I use other apps for setting my wallpaper, and the only images created by my phone are from the camera - which I would expect to go into a single folder. The folder is sync'd with my desktop (using a great app called FolderSync), and it is there that I will do any post-editing or folder/file management. I essentially use the DCIM folder as just an "incoming photos" and then the gallery app will nicely pull everything in from both it and the folder-managed content.

Oh, and as for the wallpaper setter, try Wallpaper Wizardrii; I've used it in the past to get full-res wallpapers. With the slide show live wallpaper from HTC, I've never really had reason to do static wallpapers anymore.

For people who use the Zedge app, does anyone know how to import your own wallpapers and view it in the Zedge gallery? Theres no option in Zedge but there must be a way to make it work by editing stuff on the phone/sd card. I currently overwrite images in the sdcard/zedge/wallpapers folder but the name and thumbnail doesn't change. The reason I have to do this is because I found that changing wallpapers via Astro causes some loss in quality compared to Zedge...
Thanks
Just make your own on the PC, it's simple enough.

The problem is when I set a wallpaper using Astro the quality is pretty bad. Ive done side by side comparisons with Astro vs Zedge and found that setting the same wallpaper via Zedge gives better quality. IDK why...
I can't figure out how to post wallpapers still! It would be easier if you just put a post button on Zedge! I mean I love the app but still... My username on there is _Frappes_
Searched through a couple of threads on getting the wallpapers to show up properly but wasn't able to find a definite solution and after spending a couple hours trying to figure it out here it is:
This will allow the wallpaper to span all 5 screens of ADW launcher (or any other launcher I would imagine) without pixelating or distorting.
Create a background that is 1200x1024 and in PNG format (I used PNG 24bit since that is what the stock wallpapers are at) and put the picture in the My Files\Wallpapers folder on your device memory.
Go to the Nook settings>Home>Set Wallpaper and select the wallpaper you want to use form the "Wallpaper" tab and not the "Photo Gallery" tab.
After applying the wallpaper go back to the home screen and you will have a nice clean background that spans all screens and isn't distorted.
This was starting to annoy me enough to post about a possible solution. I will do this as soon as I get off work.
Thanks!

I found this in another thread: you can also get a market app called Wallpaper Set and Save. It also sets your wallpaper of choice in the proper resolution.

I tried the Wallpaper Set and Save app but found that it still enlarged the image and cut off the top and bottom somewhat.
resizing them to 1200x1024 and saving them in .png did the trick
although this one is not 1200x1024 (the original isnt either) here's a default wallpaper for contrarians

The default wallpapers are 840x1024, but they aren't big enough to fill the multiple screens of ADW
What I did was turn the nook horizontally and set the wallpaper. Make sure you don't turn it over until the wallpaper is set. Once the wallpaper is set you can turn it back vertically and it should come out ok. This was the only way I could get the wallpaper to not be zoomed in.

Yeah, it does cut it off some, but not a big deal to me... the resolution is great, and it doesn't require photo resizing on a desktop. Depends how particular each person is about getting every inch of the image (I'd imagine this app would suffice for many).
I use Flikie Wallpapers HD which is free in the app store. Has many different types of wallpaper and they fit the screen perfectly regardless of if you're using one screen or seven screens.
Flickie wallpaper HD worked perfectly for me. I have been looking for an app like this. Thanks!
I got another solution.
But this only work with one wallpaper.
go to system/framework/
Look for framework_res.apk
Then use 7z to edit it.
Replace the default_wallpaper.png you'll get a better quality wallpaper.

Your not missing anything my friend. You are using a different OS than the OP. He sounds like he's still running stock, where as you have CM7. There are no "Nook Settings" in CM7.
Thanks - That's what I thought , then I guess I am stuck with malfunctioning wallpapers on my CM7

Hey guys,
Thought we should start a wallpaper thread for the Nook... I just posted 413 of them to my Photobucket account...
http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/bb86/911jason/Tablet Wallpaper/?start=all
I recommend Wallpaper Set & Save to improve image quality on all of your Android Wallpapers, it's free!
For anyone wanting to create their own, the size should be 1200x1024.
I recommend World Tour. It doesn't have the sharpest images, but it's pulling pictures from live webcams around the world. I just set it to random and automatic update once an hour. It scales the images properly for the Nook. I've been using it on my G1 practically since I got the phone.
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.org-jraf-android-latoureiffel-ACx.aspx
I use app called Backgrounds, takes photos from flickr and the aspect ratio / scaling seems ok.
I like the HD Rare Black Wallpapers. They show up sharper than most of the other "HD" background/wallpaper apps.
Good stuff. Might want to mention the image requirements. I believe they should be 1200 x 1024.
Nice collection.

Jason, Thanks so much for those beautiful photos you placed in your Photo Bucket for use on our NCs. I wonder if you can figure something out for me. Last week I downloaded about 14 of those photos to my pc and one way or another they made it to my NC. The neat things was, that they showed up in my Wallpaper as well as my photo gallery. Because they were in the wallpaper settings, I didn't have to do anything to them at all to get them on my home screen. They were perfect, full picture, wonderful resolution, and worked on the three home screen setting. I have no idea how I got them into that wallpaper section, darn it!
Since that time, my NC has gone through many restore-to-stock and nooters, etc. Now I'm back to 1.1 and auto-nooter v3. Everything is working well, but I can no longer find your pictures in the wallpaper section, only in the Picture gallery. The ones in the picture gallery are not the correct size and no matter what I do, I can't get them to work for me (I'm not very knowledgeable about Android, as you can probably tell.) Last week, when they were sitting in the wallpaper section, the pre-installed pictures from the Nook Color and even pictures of some of my book covers were also there. Do you have any idea how I might be able to get your pictures back into the wallpaper section? BTW - at the time they were working so beautifully, I was in 1.0.1 auto-nootered. Sorry for the long message, but I'm not having any success. I want them just the way they were last week! They were perfect!
TIA
Sue
nm - I figured out how to get them to my wallpaper. Thanks again,
Sue
So I used the Photobucket app and went into settings, checked hi res download option. Changed search to people in the dropdown. Searched for 911jason. Clicked a wallpaper, open menu click download, when it fails I selected set as wallpaper. Looks perfect on rooted 1.1 stock. Thanks!

Sue (or anyone else for that matter) can you elaborate on what you did to get an image to show up in the wallpapers section? I have a few backgrounds that I bounce in between frequently and would be grateful for a tip!

Let's see if I can this right.
I downloaded the images I wanted from 911Jason's Photobucket and put them on my pc. Then connected my NC using the USB cable. I then navigated to the NC <MyNookColor> and then to <MyFiles> and then to <Wallpapers>. I did a drag and drop of the pictures I wanted into the Wallpapers Folder. FWIW - I first tried using "send to" from drop down menu and it didn't take. The drag and drop worked fine. (911Jason's pictures were perfect for me because they are the correct size and I don't know how to use the Wallpaper apps yet.)
Hope this helps.
Sue
Thanks, I'll try that out!
A good place to go scouting for wallpapers is hdrwallpapers.com. Here's my current NC background:
http://www.hdrwallpapers.com/the_tornado-wallpapers.html
--ex
Another good place to go for wallpapers is deviantart.com and search for the resolution you want (1200x1024). A ton of the wallpaper apps rip their images from this site.
I'm not sure I'm having the same problem as others, with the wallpaper. Maybe I am. But my wallpaper shows up very large. The actual size is 700 x 1000, when I check it in Photoshop. I received it as part of a skin from DecalGirl. I would think, given the size requirement of 600 x 1024 (for one screen), this would be pretty close to perfect. But whenever I set wallpaper, the image gets blown up. I've tried using a picture of my daughter (which is 2400 x 3000), and it gets blown up, too. Her face is huge.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Help?
Okay, just tried using Wallpaper Set & Save, as I've seen others suggest, and that changed nothing. It's still really huge.

Dude, oh my goodness!! These are the kind of wallpapers I have been looking everywhere for my Hero. These looks awesome on the nook. Gonna post a screenie in the other thread asap.
WallpaperCASA is an awesome app that has a big selection and is setup really well. I use this now for the nook and it works superbly.
Just wanted to share the query I use to grab wallpapers. It always works pretty well for me when I can't quite find what I am looking for, or the various "mass" wallpaper sites are loading too slowly:
1. simply go to https://www.google.com/imghp
2. enter in filetype:jpg hd walpapers
3. download all the wallpapers you want!
You can replace or add on to the filetype:jpg hd wallpapers anything specific you are looking for like filetype:jpg hd wallpapers blue for obviously blue ones. You can also change the jpg to png or whatever for pngs.

Thanks for the link! Would the same wallpapers work for an HP Touchpad running CM9, or would I need to find something higher resolution?
after you search for something like: hd wallpapers
if you look on the left hand side, you can choose from Any Size, Large, Medium, Icon, Larger Than..., and Exactly. if you choose Exactly you can put in our screen size, which is 1080x960 (its actually 540x960, but the wallpaper you need has to be double the width of the screen)
edit: @nadomars you would have to find your resolution. if your tab's resolution is 900x1500 you would search for 1800x1500. (<- just an example)
You can actually just search for ANY image in Google Images and then change the criteria to give you "EXACT" measurements of your image and get them that way.
Having a hard time finding good wallpapers in the right size for the E3D. Whenever I search for 1080x960 pics, they are too big! I don't understand why you need double the width when the background doesn't move like it used to on older HTC phones (Hero/EVO 4G).

Why double the width when the background doesn't scroll? Whenever I use this formula, the wallpapers are way too big and cut off the edges when assigning them as the wallpaper.

Use the "Exact" option, and put in 960 x 540.
I did do that, but I was wondering why the guy above was saying to double the width.
Not a great selection on Google for 960x540

This thank you is for all your hard work on the development of the Evo 3d! Both it and you are appreciated sir and since I can't hit thanks twice on the same post (and this is the only other post of yours which wouldn't require digging lol) I decided to hit thanks here instead!

Hey guys.
I'm coming from using the Galaxy S3, and the default application (Gallery) was beautiful, in that I could manage my photos (delete, move, copy etc).
Also, everything was easily accessible because it was all organised in folders, where as this seems like a cluster**** to me, where I can't even find the pictures that I just took, unless I looked really hard for them.
Isn't any of this possible in the Album application on the Z2?
TIA
NfScLambo
That's why I don't use the default Album app, and switched to using QuickPic instead.
