hallo, samsung roms have some display modes to choose from,
is there any way to edit any of them, or patch custom values?
I am using sometimes "screen filter" apps to change gama / hue
but there are issues of not working sometimes or auto closing
thanks!
no one knows?

Why archos has removed the possibility of automatically setting screen brightness?
It was still present in fw 2.0.54, and then no more....
For me it was working very well, without any issue... now I always need to set manually in difficault light conditions...
Is there a method or a tweak... or any config file to change to have my "automatic brightness" back?
Thank you in advance
Download spare parts, and there is a setting for it in there.
I've confirmed this behavior on two tabs, one running 3.1 base and the other running 3.1 ux.
In apps like tapatalk or the amazon.com for android app, when i scroll through a list of items or topics the display brightness dims until the scrolling movement stops and the brightness returns to normal.
The difference isn't huge, but it's definitely clearly visible on both units I've tested and pretty distracting.
I tested with brightness set at auto and set at a fixed level and it happens either way.
I found a way to resolve this..
I found an option under Settings - Screen - Auto adjust screen power which is enabled by default (even if brightness is not at auto).
If I disable this, the brightness fluctuation stops.
Just thought I'd share..
Hey
Thanks, will give it a try. Got the same issue, not bad but it is irritating :-\ Especially when I use zino.

I am having a problem with the auto rotation. When I start any application it will correctly present either in portrait or landscape.
When I start the application in portrait and then switch the phone to landscape, the screen's rotation will correctly switch to landscape - but switching it back to portrait will not change the screen's rotation.
When I start the application in landscape it will remain in landscape regardless of the phone's orientation. The only way to get to portrait is to close the application, and then restart the application when the phone is in portrait mode.
I installed an application to test the sensor (Sensor List). When holding the phone in portrait vertically, the values I am getting are: ~230, ~0, ~1. When holding in landscape vertically, the values I am getting are: ~120, ~33, ~33.
The wrong rotation behavior happens in all applications. I switched two ROMs already (Cognition 1.5.2 and MIUI) and it behaves the same. I am pretty sure the problem is SW related because as I wrote the initial presentation is correct (meaning the initial orientation that I will get when starting an application is always correct).
I would appreciate help.

I did try to calibrate the display using my previous ROM (Cognition 1.5.2) and it didn't solve the problem. With the ROM I am currently using (MIUI) I don't have the calibrate menu item in the display settings window so I will have to dig into the forums to find a way to calibrate the display with the MIUI ROM.
I will update if I make any progress using this method. Thank you for the response.

Hi, got a weird issue. I tried many GB roms and used my stock rom to test it. But it seem like the stock camera do not detect auto-brightness. It only detect the "LAST BRIGHTNESS SETTING" so if you set your brightness level to the lowest it will appear that way on your camera when you use it, but once you switch it back to auto-brightness it still stays the lowest level.
anyone got any solution for this?
I have a stock rooted 5.0 US GP. Whenever I go to the settings in the stock video player and click on brightness I get a error message of Unable to adjust brightness in auto brightness mode. There's nothing in the settings about turning on or off auto brightness. Even the brightness settings doesn't have that. Just wondering does your do the same thing thanks.
I have the international version of the 5, stock, unrooted. I don't get the error you cite, and can adjust brightness with the slider, no problem. As to the auto-brightness question, try: settings/brightness/.power saving mode and uncheck the box.
Hope this helps.
5.0 at least international dont have brightness sensor so no regular auto brightness..so there is no option for that but you can turn on off with some program from market if it makes you problem in some program.
