Hey guys ive purchased a galaxy s3 nearbout 5 months ago but about a week ago its been stolen. I have installed an app "gadgetrak". Can i recover my phone? And how does these fone finding apps work? Do they require data enabled on phone? If the thief rooted d phone will d app disappear and will not show location of d phone? Plz give suggestions wat to do?:crying:
Nothing you can do, report it stolen and get your network to block the IMEI number.

Report as stolen to d network and d police .#
gadegetrack read its instructions .

So i see i cant do anything to recover my phone except blocking my imei
What do you expect. If this phone got stolen then I'm nearly 100% sure that thief already did a factory reset, or even wiped everything he could and loaded custom rom to "be sure". There's nothing else you can do.

blocking imei is the definitive solution.. and maybe the only one now.
BHH
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.labs.planb you could try installing this, but if phone is cleared, then nothing you can do. Next time install cerberus as a system app, gives slightly more possibilities...

Your phone is gone. All you can do is make it harder for the thief to make money from it by getting the imei blocked. No app is going to save you. If it did find your phone and you got there really think about it. Good lesson to learn in life, watch your things.
I am sorry about your situation, but...

Hi
I forgot my pattern and my phone is locked now, and asking for gmail account details. I put my details in (with @gmail.com and without) but it doesn't work!
What should i do?!
thanks
It doesn't work? As in, you don't have internet on your phone? Is your phone rooted? The only thing I can think of is flashing a new firmware.

I do have internet on the phone. Its a known bug which have many solutions on the web but none of them works.. and no, my phone is not rooted.
I'm trying to find a solution without rooting or wiping data..
please help.. my phone is bricked..
bump
It's bricked now or are you trying to get attention? Just wipe it. It's an easy way out.
If all else fails, you could always contact a Samsung service centre, as long as you can provide proof of purchase I'm sure they should be able to unlock it.

I guess the "brick" have a different meaning for the two of us.
I didnt want to wipe it, its my sister's phone and she had important stuff.
Anyway, she found out she was trying the wrong username the whole time.
Thanks

If the jig doesnt work then you might need a JTag

there might be one close to where you live if there isnt one the list.I got one done from this list for 35 bucks.

Any help?
Theres a jig for SGSII on eBay for £1.99. Heres the link: http://is.gd/sgs2jig

What happened? What did you do? I think you did something wrong as it shouldnt just randomly brick itself. And the jig should work, try buying a new one

The SGS2 is almost brick proof in my experience. The only problem you could face is if you have non official stuff and and your bin counter is not at zero they could,if they can get into it,send the back unfixed.Ive had an SGS1 fixed by a JTag as I said before and the SGS2 also can be done.So if they send it back its an option to look at.My SGS1 was my own screw up but it cost 35 euros + postage so worth it.The link is on page 1 although you might google up a place closer to home as its an old link.

If you have not preinstalled a trackingsoftware before, the "Plan B" postet above seems to be the only chance.
Or you have configured Samsung "Dive" before.

the person who finds a phone ,will either sell it or wipe it full for the use,i gess the youtube videos of destroying phones ,some of them seems stollen

the rep is not gonna be that smart to check, as long as you get a new one and walk out the door they cant say anything.
Smart enough to Post this in the right section, but not smart enough to not flash a ROM for a different phone from a different section of the forum...
YDI?
Take this as a learning experience and learn to READ THE POSTS/FORUM SECTION BEFORE YOU FLASH ANYTHING that could potentially ruin your 500$+ smart phone?
I know they were working on a way to unbrick NA SGS 3's through the Toolkit, but i'm not sure how far they actually got with it.
You might be boned though....

lol, I don't blame the carriers and manufacturers now. I see so many people who hack there device. Mess it up and feel its right to commit FRAUD. You know not to say you were hacking it and ruined it because you know its not covered. Another person who feels even though it was there fault for ruining there device, they should not pay to replace it.

Hello, I have just bought an used Galaxy S3, but unfortunately I have some problems. The main problem is that I am unable to make calls. The phone shows No service and it doesn't matter whether SIM is inserted or not. Another thing I have noticed is changed IMEI. It is different than one behind the Battery. Also, serial number is 00000000 and it is very strange.
I would be very grateful for any help!

It sounds like you've got a phone totally wiped and your EFS folder is clear. Your EFS folder contains your imei number. Your phone is unusable. Ask the seller if he has a backup of EFS folder.

Yes, sure I will ask the seller for the backup. However, let's say he doesn't have it. Then there won't be a possibility to get ir working?

Here ya go. It can be fixed pretty easily however as of now it will show you roaming even if you aren't.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31051731
Edit actually after reading this new method it seems they fixed the roaming problem. Mine is backed up so I dont really follow this closely. I would however demand some money back for the shady business.
