[Q] How long can your mediapad battery last? - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Hi, guys, I am curious to know roughly how long can your battery last after unplugged from full charged?
Mine normal usage of whole day whatsapp, minor web browsing, and some music listening, Maximum can last 24hrs.
I would like to know whether this is normal for mediapad or there's something wrong with the battery?
Thanks in advance^^

Which model? Mine MP7 Lite also has low battery life. I charge it daily.
Sent from my MediaPad 7 Lite using xda app-developers app

For me, with Internet relatet apps & wifi, no games, no vids, active display time up to 4,5hs.
Otherwise its off most of the time instead of standby, which is mostly useless if wifi goes into standby as well, else it will draw mucho power.

For me, normal use lasts in round about 5 to 6 hours.
Navigation with full brightness, WLAN/MobileData on, sometimes switching to webbrowser or to shazam... 16% in 40min - or >4h.
(normally the pad is plugged, while driving
Just to give an idea.
Greets Gunnar

mine can last up to 6 hours of browsing with 25% brightness

Yeah, brightness is the key for saving battery!
If you look into the settings/accu you'll see, that round about 50% goes with the battry.

God sake, that was in stock rom, now with Latest CM 10.1 update, mine can last roughly 4-5 hrs MAX. How sad T_T
Really hope some one will develop a battery saving kernel to save our battery by running down so fast :crying:

[Q] normal battery drain rate for CM7.2?

I got a battery app installed which shows % in the top bar. It stays at 100% for a while but when it starts draining with the screen on I lose about 1% every 1-2 minutes, I think its somewhere in between, if I am taxing the cpu it more frequeent than every minute, this would give me about 2-3 hours usage which seems extremely low.
Brightness is min.
wifi/3g off.
auto sync off.
accuweather is installed (mentioned as it has a service running).
I get the drain simpley from doing things like scrolloing app drawer and checking sms.
With screen off in sleep mode battery drain is ok less than 5% in 12 hours. I have this issue confirmed on 2 different batteries.
If this is normal fine, I just want to compare to others on this.
I used to get around 1 day for heavy use ( like wifi, games, etc.) and 1.5 to 2 days for moderate use Which ROM are you using ??
Cm7 based roms use more battery than stock, cuz also their performance is a lot better.
Use uot Kitchen to get the % battery instead of an app.
Also the launcher u use affects battery. ie Go launcher drains plenty of battery.
If you can't squeeze a day's worth of battery from ur phone ur probably using it too much (how much does a laptop last on battery, seriously!)

you mean a day of constant use screen on or would there be periods of it sleeping?
My phone lasts more than a day mostly 3-5 days but thats mainly because its idle most of the time. However I plan to transfer some tasks to it and it seems I will need to keep the charger in during the day.
Compared to stock CM I think isnt too bad, the drain was also bad on stock with the screen on and during calls but the only reason I specified CM is that I didnt have the % meter on my stock rom which means I dont have the same comparison.
My current rom is vo-1's 30 may build. I had bugs on official nightly that vo-1's resolved (including force reboot when using market) so is the reason I am using it.
Incidently my laptop drains its battery slower than my android.
Why I read that so many use thier phones like 2 days, and I can't even get a 12 hours fair use.
I use 2G (3g drains my battery really quick), some whatsapp, some FB and some calls. Music it's only in the morning on my way to work.
I've buy a new battery from ebay, but, it's the same. Using CM 7.1 rom "The End 4.0"
yeah my hunch seems right that it wasnt overall much diff to stock (that also drained superfast when screen on). IN fact during sleep it seems improved over stock.
I am over 4 days at the moment with 35% charge left. mostly sleep. It lost 3% during the time it took me to fetch the below stats. Note that calls like my earlier hunch as well seem to drain battery far more than display.
4 days 8 hours 38% left
display on 40mins used 4%
voice calls on 1hr 5mins used 33%
mobile standby 41% 4hrs 8 mins
phone idle 4days 7hrs 23%

That's insane... either you DO NOT have data connection (an internet plan) or you are just a lucky guy. 2 days are barely believable but 4??? Give me a break!!!

Surely, you're not using WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, handling e-mails or any of the like. If you're just using the SGA like a normal phone, OF COURSE it can give you that kind of performance. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

He barely touched his phone Anyone can get 5-6 days like that! And being on Stock, it's extremely probable.
Well mate you can't expect battery on a cm rom. Performance and good battery isn't an option on cm. Performance is great on cm but battery, nah!

yeah sadly it seems noone has a comparison that I need.
Which is time needed for 1% usage whilst screen is on.
This isnt on stock tho the phone is on CM7.2 vo-1 build.
From what I see the battery life is around the same as stock.
Now I am over 5 days with 17% left. Just did a phone call and it stayed at 17%. When below 20% on stock the phone was unuseable.

Can't get to 4200mv

Ever since I installed cm7 stable, my battery wont get to 4200mv, max is 4191 after 10 hrs on charger. Is this a sign of a bad battery or a bug within the rom? I forced it to show 100% by doing the battery pull while plugged in trick, but I've never come across anyone not reaching full mv when doing this just the not showing 100% search didn't result in anyone with the mv issue just the % issue. Anyone know what maybe be the issue?
The only time you'll see 4200mv is when you're plugged in to the charger and the phone things the battery is full. Battery cells degrade so the battery is pretty much never going to hold 100% of it's capacity.
Honestly 4191mv is pretty good. I'm usually around 4160mv or so after coming off the charger unless I need to do a calibration.

I never got even 16 hours out of mine on stock. In fact even on custom roms im barely getting from wake up in the morning to before bed at night. I'd say from 7am to 10pm before I have to plug in. I am on it probably a total of 5 of those hours with 3 games I play, looking at xda about 10 times a day and the occasional call.
Is that 5 hours of screen time? If so, I would personally say that sounds pretty good. I've always got about 24 hours standby and maybe 3 hours screen time on most ROMs.
Mine goes from 6.15 (when I unplug it) to 15.00 draining 20% o so power... it's mostly idle, with occasional whatsapp and email, data always on. Then, from 15 i start using it pretty hard (an hour of wifi, installing/removing things from market, playing max payne and mc3 online, etc) and it can made through the day (in fact, I usually play a lot on bedtime, so i can drain the remaining battery (about 40, 30%) and recrage it overnight. I can't complain, mi milestone (AKA motorola droid) was lucky if it could make it the whole day Considering the massive display, the dual-core and the amount of ram (including the apps running in background) it's petty impressive

Samsung galaxy s3 battery life range for me

my quad core s3 is a no-contract phone . uses pre-paid card. so there is no 3g/4g. i get around 4 hours screen on time with power saving mode on with juice defender on. i find that gaming time in this phone is awful. in the iphone 4, i get 5 hours 3d gaming time. now i dont even get 4 hours 2d gaming time! is this normal with the s3? but stll this is a fantastic phone. without gaming i get 6 hours screen on time. just would like to know if you get the same with gaming. iphone 5 seems to have a really good battery with 8h screen on time.
Make sure you disable wcdma in network settings.... your phone probably searching for a 3g signal and failing.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Get rid of juice defender and turn off power save mode.
Also 8 hours screen on time for ip5 is questionable, these are the same people that said 8 hours 3g use and 10 hours LTE. As everyone knows, LTE uses more power than 3g.
Their numbers are lies/exaggerated.
If you want the iPhone so badly then you know what you need to do.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I too have Power Saving Mode turned on, and manually adjust the brightness (it's always set to the lowest setting).
I have WiFi turned on the entire time that I'm home, and 3G when I'm out.
Auto Sync is on the entire time, because I want to be able to know when I get an incoming email.
That's pretty much it.
I am not able to come close to 4 hours of screen time, before my battery reaches 5-10%. Cell Standby accounts for the most battery usage.
Any pointers/tips?
P.S. Phone not rooted.
Do you have Viber? If yes there is a bug in the latest update that's keeping the proximity sensor on and draining the battery. 4 hours screen on time with battery save mode is really bad. There's probably some app draining the battery.
Ps. Ip5 battery life is a lie as usual, people who have it and actually use it say battery is actually quite bad. Also on the ios stats you don't have 'screen on' time report, but 'usage' time that is a lot more stuff than just screen on time. People who say the have 8 hours are probably just reading the usage time.

Yep; I do use Viber. I think you're right. Ever since I got the latest Viber update, the battery seems to die off sooner.
Should I uninstall and check?
How can I check what rogue app is eating into the battery?
Well. i hate the iphone 5! no i dont have viber. juice defender shows me battery improved by 1.8x. i have auto sync off and power save on. i have disabled mobile data. and i realised i am just expecting too much! i was surfing the stock browser on wifi for 45 min and my phone went from 39% to 34%. guess thats okay.
Viber just fixed the proximity sensor issue; hope this resolves the battery drain issue.
BTW, what is the normal hourly battery drain percentage?
You can install an app called 'betterbatterystats' (very counterintuitive name!) to see what exactly is eating your battery, it takes a while to figure out how it works but it is very usefull!
Google location services in maps and Google now (if you are on jelly bean) drain quite a bit of battery and basically anything running on the background. Obviously you just deactivate what you don't need!
What about the iphone4 and SGS3 screen size ...every mm more=more power

Three days ago, I flashed stock ICS (with wipe). I wanted to test the battery life.
Screen On time was a little under 4 hours.
I spent just a little over 2 hours on the phone.
Wifi was on/off intermittently.
Around 15 minutes of gaming.
The phone lasted 1 day and 20 hours.
That, in my opinion, is really, really good.

You can easily go for 2 days with this phone and normal usage if you turn off or use airplane mode at night. But I never do because the phone is so cool that I use it all the time! I charge at night, still I never get to 0% at the end of the day.
anyone else can post their experience with battery life?

battery life on this babe is good enough for me!
I get around 21-26 hours of standby time and screen on time ranging from at least 5 hours to 6.5 hours. When I don't browse much and just use the Adobe Reader I b get around 7 Hours plus a few minutes.
I switch on power saving mode when the battery drops below 30% and my brightness is set on auto and I'm connected to a 2g network. No gaming. I generally browse the Web for an hours , listen to music for a few minutes and then read on the Adobe Reader.
Auto sync is switched on at all times.

Battery Life

Greetings all ,
I noticed that my battery on Xperia tablet s draining very fast .
For example : i am on battery for 4h 24 minutes and i have 76 % left with 1hour 26 minutes screen time .( Which i made some internet Surf and watch some video)
Android OS has 26% of usage with Keep wake 2h 16 minutes.
Is that ok ? or something going wrong with my battery?
I think thats very bad stats.
Cheers

I know my battery runs 7~8h of continuous use with 50% brightness. About 5:30h~6h with 80%+ brightness.
That is a mix of web browsing, videos, facebook, etc.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that the stand by consumption on the Tablet S is MUCH grater than, for example, samsung galaxy tab. Whereas Samsung practically doesn't use aby battery, the Tablet S may consume up to 1% every hour on stand by.
Thanks for your reply mate.
After charging several times now and did a full cicles of the battery i am getting very satisfied results and i am very happy
Thanks

Mpj 6000mah

Been using this 6000mah battery and does hold up
Perks:
Doesn't make the phone case bulky,
Lots of SOT, I got like 7 to 8 hours on a charge.
Doesn't get hot.
Still charges fast.
The only downside I have to it is that while it stays on 100percent for like 3 hours of having Bluetooth and music running with some moderate usage, once it drops to 99 percent it seems to drop more normally.

The standard battery does this too.
I never got 7 to 8 hours sot use. I have greenify and amplify and maybe got 3 hours use. I'm also a very heavy user.

can you post some actual battery usage screenshots? thank you

It seems they are offering discounts on amazon. I have randomly selected this battery on Amazon before any research and felt relieved to find this review lol.
Hey guys.
Just received my battery as well. Did a full charge and battery calibration and started my first test as of last night. I'll share my results with screenshots soon but I'm going to get 8+ hours SoT after initial charging. This is impressive! I was getting between 2:30-4:30 SoT on official battery before.
Soo..
This is a 20 hour run from 100% to 8%
It includes a night sleep and lots of "on screen", meaning I wasn't actively using the phone for the whole time. What I've done are:
Some whatsapp chats, light Web browsing
Leaving an 'active' app running on the screen, for instance forex or livescore which are auto refreshing all the time so it's quote battery consuming, using the radio all the time.
80 minutes of YouTube videos @720p (most battery consuming item)
45 minutes of video watching @1080P
45 minutes of the game fallout shelter running on screen (I wasn't actively playing but I let the game run)
8 mail accounts (4 of them on Manuel update every 3 minutes and 4 of them at push)
Whatsapp Web connected all the time, been chatting whole day over my pc
3g on all the time. GPS and WiFi off all the time
Screen @50% brightness
What do you think of th result? It's more then double I was getting with my official battery
I am also getting more than double of what I was getting with my official battery. I am loving this battery so far.

How did you do a battery calibration? Also, is there a way to do a battery calibration without root? My company uses Good and it only works on non-rooted phones
Well, I'm no expert on this topic so I just used one of those battery calibration apps which only delete that battery. Bin file.
I'm getting some weird charging behavior that the battery stucking at 99% from time to time. But whenever it's fully charged, it's a beast. It stays at 100% for 40 45 minutes with screen on time.
You can see these two screenshots of the same full charge. Those are under 70% brightness, lots of browsing and ebook reading under sun. 3g on all the time. It's sick.
impressive battery
Try Mugen. https://mugen.co/mugen-power-6200mah-extended-battery-for-lg-g3-with-battery-door.html

There shouldn't be any problem with customs, it's cheap enough.
