Hello, I am having some issues with my HTC EVO V 4G on Virgin Mobile. I was trying to get S-OFF using JuopunutBear. I was able to get it, but when I reformatted my SD-Card, after flashing a new bootloader, my phone will not boot any ROM. I have tried 3, Deoxed stock rooted ICS, Oxed stock rooted ICS, and lastly, a custom CM10.1 called Wild for the Night (link). When I attempt to load the ROM, it boots, goes to the HTC Boot screen, hangs for about 15 seconds, the Soft-keys at the bottom illuminate, but the screen stays dark, but lit, then both shut off. I am able to boot into recovery, which I have 4EXT touch. Here is my hboot info:
Code:

FASTBOOT
I find it odd that it shows FASTBOOT, but not FASTBOOT USB despite it being pulled in to my computer.
Any help is welcome, and thanks a ton in advance.
Regards, Zach
I fixed the issue by flashing the ruu. Thanks for the help.

Hi everybody!
I have got problem with custom roms :/ I have upgraded to ICS OTA () and then unlocked bootloader via HTC dev, then installed CMW recovery with fastboot. At that moment I had S-On, I have tried to install CM 10 and Virtuous Eclipse but they both had endless boot, so I thought S-Off would help but it is even worse - bootloop, evo restarts after ~5 seconds after bootscreen shows up. I don't know what to do I have tried super-wipe, flash boot.img from rom... Any ideas?
Edit:
Solved (second page)
OK, slow down. More info would help, is your phone Gsm?
Did you flash the new firmware?, what's your hboot ?
Can we assume your phone is s-off?!

Yup, I didn't noticed that is forum for both CDMA and GSM. It is Evo 3D GSM S-off with JuopunutBear (unlimited.io) now it says in bootloader:

I have also tried to flash CoolICS Kernel via CMW after CM 10 installing and then EVO endless boots (with rom's kernel it restarts and restarts...)
First issue looks as though u haven't flashed the new firmware pg86img, look for firmware download on first page of op, also 4ext recovery is preferred over cwm

This may be that couse I haven't flashed any pg86img but... (noob question) where can I find firmwares (what did You mean by saying 'op'?)
Here' s link to firmware, original poster ( op) http://d-h.st/Mf1

Ok, I have downloaded firmware into sdcard, booted into bootloader and it updated (10x "ok") but it still reboots (and endless boot with CoolICS Kernel...) Have I done anything wrong?
Do a battery pull, take it out and put it back in and see what happens, had the same issue, now b4 you flashed the ROM did u do a full wipe?

If you want to start clean find one of the available RUUs to reset to default.... (RUU_Shooter_S_Sprint) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813818 grim has a list, linked to at the bottom
That said if everything else is failing, don't give up on custom ROMs lol.

@flashallthetime
I do "wipe data/factory reset" and superWipe. Nothing helps. I don't understand what did you mean by saying "do battery pull", when I take it out, phone will be turned off (wow), when I put it back I can again turn phone on and bootloop again :/
@crimsy
Isn't topic you linked for CDMA only?
Should I downgrade hboot to 1.49? Then, if so, is there tutorial on the forum in GSM development?
Yes, but follow the link for grims RUUs, there's a ton of RUUs for HTC EVO 3Ds

Can I install this ruu (http://www.filefactory.com/dlf/f/c0...00_10.13.9020.08_2M_release_203403_signed.exe) over:

Solved
I have flashed that ruu (RUU_Shooter_U_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.2_Radio_10.53.9020.00_10.13.9020.08_2M_release_203403_signed), it installed hboot, then said it will restart and... error that client ID was wrong! Happily it didn't bricked phone and hboot was downgraded to 1.49.0007 It is still S-off (and shows *locked*) but now, each rom is working!

Backed up and then flashed CM 10 last night to try it out. I was just running the stock ROM, unlocked, originally. I had trouble getting CM 10 to take, so I read up and learned about dumlock. That did the trick. After playing around CM 10 for a while, I decided I liked my original ROM better, so I tried to recover it. Going back caused a boot loop.
So now, I can get into the bootloader, which is a good thing. I had an issue with the sd card and internal memory not being able to be read, so I formatted both, which fixed that problem. Reloading CM works, but the USB won't communicate with my computer. Also, wireless and mobile antennas don't seem to work. So it's a real mess.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this, please?
Thank you in advance.
Just a thought, but with that Hboot don't you have to flash the kernel separately? If you went back to your previous ROM, wouldn't you need to flash the right kernel for it?

Its not the hboot version that makes you have to flash it separate, its the fact your s-on.
I'd highly recommend dirty racun to get s off for 1.19 I did and love it!
Is that a hemi? No silly its Paranoid Android!
EVO 4G LTE S-OFF;-]
I bricked my EVO-3d GSM phone, I tried to flash different ROMs while my rooted phone was on s-off mode ,
Then one of the ROMs destroyed or bricked my phone, which means after flashing that ROM I just get HTC logo and nothing goes on.
Amazingly I think I made a soft brick since I can boot into bootloader and flash PG86IMG.zip files or boot into recovery 4EXT recovery (which works fine).
Then I read on the forum I have to downgrade my HBOOT then I downgraded my bricked phone via SDCARD by PG86IMG(with hboot 11.49.0007)
So my boot loader screen is as follow:
*** RELOCKED ***
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL

Now I do not know what should I do next.
In fact how can I unbrick my phone (since I think my phone is not bricked that bad)
If there is any software approach (please let me know step by step) and If there is any hardware approach where I can find a comprehensive walk through and the required attachments,connectors,... to fix the problem
I can not detect my phone on USB (since I did not ADB debug on my previous phone rom) and I do not know how to enable USB adb in the boot loader.
Thanks
It's not bricked. Do you have a ROM zip. in root of your card? I think you should be able to flash ROMs in that state. Just don't flash the one that made your phone stuck in splash screen.

I waited for at least 30 minutes to realize if it is going to show life signals or not :crying:
Can you go to fastboot usb? If yes, try to unlocked your bootloader and flash a custom rom again..

Hey guys,
i just tried to root my friends evo 3d.
After following the HTCDEV.com-Method (and installing revolutionary) i tried to install a rom (LeeDrOiD 3D 5.4).
After flashing the rom i just get a bootloop with the white HTC-Screen.
Here's some Info i got in the bootloader:

I thought it might be the HBOOT-1.53 which is the problem so i tried following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22494488&postcount=1
Sadly we still get the white HTC Screen.
Any Ideas?
Did you make a backup? #1 rule when flashing
What recovery are you using?
Be sure to wipe all partitions before you flash
Also the Rom thread should give you requirements..ie hboot and such

Sadly i did not do a backup.
The leedroid loading icon actuallY shows for a second before the phone restarts.
My next Guess would be To install the gingerbread stock Rom. I will try that when i get home.
Any other ideas?
If youre s on, your choices are limited to stock based roms for the most part.
I have read a few posts about smartflash and flashing boot.IMG through fastboot, but I am s off and have personally never needed to do that.
So yes, start by flashing stock, to get you running.

Ever get it going? I have a cdma version with sprint that has a clean esn and working board but f'ed up lcd/digitizer. And fyi its Eng Hboot 1.04 SOFF with revolutionary tool. was an original 1.40 hboot before the whole dev unlock crap that doesnt work for sh*t. my post about it is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282485 you can get at me with a PM if your interested.

Go to mwakious 3d rom thread. All step by step instructions are given their with bootloader. Use 4ext recovery to flash this rom. It should work 100%
hello,
I have rooted my phone and was working fine untill i by mistake formatted system from. Now nothing is working except a hTC white screen flashes when i switch on the device. Even using volume down key+power on button the bootloader opens. But when clicking recovery or factory reset button, the device stops at white screen showing hTC screen.
I am afraid whether it is bricked or what?
The screen shows:
