Odin is windows software which you use to flash updates.
Firstly download the stock jb firmware of your choice. You will also find odin in the same download

It's for 4.1.1
You'll need to install 4.1.2 through Odin, not Kies.

Not sure, but I think you can only install through ODIN now. Never used Kies to update.

Don't go for it. It is a battery hog.
I suggest you go for the ELK4 ROM. JB 4.1.2 Muuuuuuch better battery backup and newer JB version. Multi-window and Note 2 gallery!!
GPS does not work for me and few others but I am yet to come across any other issues.
Whee is it ?? Cannot find here ??

hi, salam to everyone . I got my s3 about 3 months ago. everything is fine until today. I got jelly bean about a month ago and install an official one from Samsung kies. today I just want to check any software update for this purpose I go to settings then about device then software update. . but can't check as it shows "your device have been modified so no updates " . . I again go to about device section and click on Status and scroll down to device Status and it shows modified.
I don't know how all just happens.
I have bought an international version of S3 pin pack, break seal with my own hands. .
didn't ever installed any thing other than some basic apps from google play.
before getting jelly bean I can check updates from my s3 but now I can't. . plz help.

Just ODIN the lastest Jelly Bean (4.1.1), not the 4.1.2 leak and you should be good to go
How to do it. . If done Odin, my device will be rooted or not?? Sory for noob question I am totally new to Android
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
flashing stock 4.1.1 via Odin won't root your phone
but don't flash 4.1.2 coz it is pre-rooted

Remove the external sd card and reboot. Check for updates again. It should solve your problem.

you can fix it by using the search button , already answered 10 times...or for you:
try to reflash the rom, that worked for me, otherwise you can try the CSC changer from the market, but be careful as it will format your rom & sd card. In general CSC unknown is not a big issue (at least it was not for me, anything worked just fine).
If I was at a desktop computer id have used the search feature it also let's me know if I have dupe thread mobile app doesn't let me know. I'll try flashing stock ROM but the one I used didn't have a CSC but im sure I can find out how to do it

Yes reflash the firmware. It worked for me too.

I installed a mt6575 ROM to a mt6577 device.. need to change it back

Hello
So I changed my Rom that was meant for a mt6575 and my modem (a mt6620, wifi, fm radio, bluetooth camera) does not work either..
when I try to flash via CWM it says "ro.product.device error" or if I try with SP flashtool it says that the ROM im trying to install is for ,mt6577
I need to trick CMW or SP flashtool to think that my device is a mt6577 (actually it is) to install his proper ROM
Any help is appreciated
anyone?
Try flashing with Odin multitool that will work with the right settings file try searching your forums for it.

sadly I have no skills in android programming
nevertheless I tried changing build.prop but no results
try flashing the rom with adb, can you set that up? another question: can you still boot it and connect it to your pc with usb?

[Q] Asus TF300T Stuck on boot

Hi I am new to this so sorry if im posting in the wrong place or not doing something right XD.
anyway I have an asus tf300t tablet that is stuck on the boot screen that says this device is unlocked on the to left. I originally had ICS on it then tried to upgrade it to JB and it was working alright but was acting weird it said i was rooted but i couldnt run rooted apps. Well I decided to do a wipe in the settings option and then after that I was stuck on the boot screen. I am unable to get into recovery i originaly had clockwork i think and i can get into apx mode but my desktop will not find my device i tried using that naked driver my computer drivers see it but everytime i use apx or fastboot it says waiting for device.
that being said anyone have any idea to help me without sending it asus because i know ima have to pay for a new motherboard that seems to be the answer to everything when you send it in.
thank you =]
Just flash any firmware if it got stuck on the bootloop
