hi, I've got a problem with my SII i9100g. The problem is, when I try to intalling cwm using odin, the phone appears in android recovery mode <3e>. Can someone help me how to remove this android recovery mode. I absolutely don't want this. I've tried many times to installing CWM using odin, but it never worked out
Why dont you install a kernel with up to date cwm? Like dorimanx ect ect .

Hi All,
I am having trouble with Galaxy S2. Months ago I rooted my phone, installed cwm and installed a ROM into it. Now they have released a new version of the ROM which I want to install it.
This is the ROM:
http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-roms/resurrection-ics-rom-v2-0-for-galaxy-s2-i9100-best-ics-rom/
however, I am unable to boot into CWM Recovery.
If I do the POWER+VOLUP+HOME button its going directly to Android Recovery
I tried opening the CWM Manager, and I get this prompted:
"This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-Root v5.0 or newer. It appears you are running a different kernel. Various features have been disabled"
I remember Flashing a Kernel to remove the Triangle Logo on the Loading Part.
So how can I flash the Kernel back? And install the newest updated ROM
Flash cf-root first it seems that you're not rooted.

Flashing the original kernel to remove the yellow triangle also takes you back to stock 3e recovery. You are still rooted though. Reflash the unsecure kernel through cwm manager or if that doesnt work, download ktool from google play and reflash from there.
This will give you CWM recovery without increasing binary flash counter. Reboot into recovery and do full wipe, before flashing new firmware.

flash the CF-root kernel using odin or siyah kernel(for me siyah is much smoother) and everything should be fine, also use triangle away to remove the triangle (u can get in google play for donation to the dev or on XDA for free)
i have a galaxy s2 i9100p all rooted and stuff. i saw jellybam came out and i wanted to try it even if it wasnt for i9100p (big mistake)!! flashed it from clockworkmod recovery and i selected no kernel just install jellybam. the phone bricked, wouldnt turn on just stucked on welcome screen GALAXY SII. anyway i flashed my phone from odin with a stock firmware, it turned on and i did a restore to my previous version with rom manager and everything worked fine. but my stupid curiosity wouldnt let me so i tried jellybam again but this time i chose the siyah kernel. now i tried everything from flashing with odin the same stock firmware, repartition, to restore the backup with cwm.zip from recovery but everything is useless. my phone wont turn on!! when i restore from cwm it gets stuck at restoring data. my galaxy is i9100PXXLPF. PLEASE HELP!!
Hello, I recently tried to install the Siyah Kernel verion 1.8.9 to my stock ROM'd rooted Galaxy S3 I9300. After installing it, the "Galaxy I9300" logo appears, then the Siyah logo for a few seconds, then it goes black. The phone is turned on, just black. It can charge, and I seem to be able to go into download mode. Can anyone help? I don't really want to lose my data. :\
If you've not backed it up I suspect you will struggle to recover your data. My advice would be to try flashing stock rom with odin, but you will lose your data then, there is a reason you are recommended to backup before touching your system.

What version of android are you using cause siyah is for 4.1.2 sammy roms only... and if you are using 4.3 then just download a suitable kernel for 4.3 and then flash it through either Odin or your recovery.. For siyah like features go for googy max for 4.3...

Thanks!
I got the GoogyMax ROM like you suggested, installed it no problem, can now use all the features from Siyah on my GS3, and have all my data. You are THE MAN!
Hi all,
First of all, i'm not a total newbie, i have already flash HP Touchpad, Galaxy S and Galaxy Note with CM and OmniRom.
My problem is with Galaxy S2 : i9100.
I have already installed a compatible recovery (with Heimdall), found here on XDA : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/cwm-kit-kat-compatible-t2546597
I can go on recovery named (Android Recovery System (3e)), why it's not ClockWork ??
But, i can't flash any rom, i have always this message :
error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip status 7
I tried with adb, it's the same...
I tried to flash OmniRom, the same...
Could you help me please ??
If the recovery says '3e' then the CWM flash has not worked........
If, before you started, you were stock (4.1.2?) unrooted. You will need to flash a custom kernel to root your device and provide a basic CWM.......then you can flash your KK compatible CWM from within the existing CWM.........
If you *are* stock unrooted, you have two commonly used options....
1) use the android 3e recovery to flash PhilZ kernel.
2) use Odin to flash dorimanx or siyah or similar. Both will give you root and CWM, and in my own opinion, flashing PhilZ is easier.....
As with any 'non standard' procedure, read ALL the instructions before flashing.......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
Hello mates, Am no newbie to flashing ROMs but this is somehow disturbing! I updated my friends Galaxy S2 i9100 from stock 2.3.3 to 4.2.2 Paranoid Rom. The Rom was too buggy wth missing menus&crashes&finally stuck at bootloop, no safe mode, unable to enter recovery. So I decided to flash official 4.1.2 Jellybean 19100ZSMSA Odin flash was finished successfuly with no errors but after reboot the device reaches the sumsung logo&keeps rebooting frequently. Tried flashing official i9100VJMS3 4.1.2 jellybean but same results even with autoreboot unchecked. Wiping cache&factory reset doesn't help either. Am not too sure that USB debugging was enabled. I can't restore from a 2.3.3 backup i had made since previous cwm got wiped. Could this result from incompatible kernel? Kindly help out
UPDATE:
I identified the problem in recovery. " e: failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument) "
A broken efs partition was preventing the ROM from loading up. No ROM flash/kernel/CWM jigs would solve this issue. I had to repair this partition as a last resort.
Will post Solution details in a few. A long process but it worked Wonders!!!. Thanks

Try to install a custom recovery like philz touch recovery. Than after you did that, install CM11 from here: http://get.cm/get/le1
It will work like a charm
Philz Touch from here: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9100/philz_touch_6.48.4-i9100.tar.md5
Flash it in odin
Giving this a shot
Thanks Tkkg for quick reply. I was considering flashing philZ CWM as well&see if I can restore the 2.3.3 backup&then reflash the official 4.1.2 jelly bean update as my friend still prefers to remain stock after that bad experience with Paranoid ROM. Was looking for a compatible PhilZ CWM stock kernel for the jellybean ROM i installed above but if this one works that will be helpful. Will report if this works
