My Question is... Do Apps installed using ADB get updated from the play store? if not is there a way to enable the Auto updates through ADB?

Your biggest issue is if the app had been changed in the slightest way then it will have been signed differently then the Store apk and it wont update. Make sure to get any apps outside the play store from the rightful developer and you should be good. Anything else wont get updates from the store until you uninstall this edited one and install the app with the proper sig.

Hello, I have a question. Is there a way to update apps if they are side loaded onto my TP? The particular app does not show up in the Play Update page I assume cause I side loaded it.Is there a way I can make it show up in the list of my installed apps? There is not an option to update it within the game itself.
HP Touch pad running cm9. Thanks.
With Titanium Backup sideloaded apps can be attached to Google Play but if the app is listed as incompatible its not going to work. The only thing you can do is change your build.prop to a supported device.
Thank you. I should have Titanium back up installed anyways. Gonna go get it now and see if I can figure it out. Thx again.
But if its a hacked app it won't update and may even block usage or even uninstall itself
Sent from my CM9 TouchPad using TapaTalk 2
I know this happens probably on all other hardware as well, but on my Mega has become an almost daily matter.. is there a way to PERMANENTLY STOP, BLOCK AND FORBID the stupid Google Play Store app to keep updating itself to newer versions? Every new version is worse than the previous and no matter I Uninstall updates, they come right back again next time U open the app.. this is driving me crazy.. thanks for the input
just disable playstore app in application manager, then enable back when needed, all my device playstore were disabled, I enable it when needed.
Or find the setting in playstore app to disable auto update.

No. Turning off the app in application manager doesn't work because when I turn it on again to use the app, immediately the first thing that happens is the app updating itself to the newer version. And disabling the auto-uodatr only work for apps downloaded from the play store, NOT the pay store app itself.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah that's how it works, disable it for preventing auto update, when enable back it will self auto update, hate it so much
No other way. everytime I used the playstore app it will auto update and when I didn't want to use, I always uninstall updates and disable it.

So crazy.. there has got to be a way to hack the play store so it doesn't auto update itself.. I had such a version 3.x on my old Galaxy Tab 7 with gingerbread.. from Android Honeycomb up, it's all downhill.. I'm so over Android..

hope so, so I could get a paid game for free.
btw I have 3 devices, N8000, I9200 and N900. I9200 and N900 never login to app store so never get auto update, N8000 login because some of game app need to sign in to play store, once you sign in to app store you'll never get out, until I still couldn't find a way to logout.
I have already done it from my Mega. I think it should be work good.. i am wait now..
hi all.
i use to run old versions of my gmail and maps apps (i just like some legacy features) but recently i noticed they got updated in the background (not due to the play store, i disabled its auto update feature) and, if uninstalled, they even get restored to thier latest version after a reboot!
how can it be? could it be the latest google play services update?
thanks a lot for any thought you wanna share
Only way I see this happening is if the auto update feature in google play was enabled. But since you said you disabled it I'm clueless. I have my settings to not update and have never experienced an app updating on its own unless its updated on their end.

hi and thanks for your reply.
yeah, it seems this is just limited to google apps.
i can confirm it's not related to the play store setting. i also have other few play store apps i don't use to update and there isn't any issue with them.
i still have a feeling that it could be a new play services feature...
I have this app which I originally downloaded from the play store but it quit working with an update so I downloaded the earlier version from APK mirror, I didn't think it would update since it wasn't registered to the play store but no matter what I do it decides it wants to update from the play store anyway.
Things I have tried
1 not allowing auto update (for the app) in google play
2 deleting app from my google account
3 detaching from market using titanium backup
I've run out of things to try so any help would be appreciated.
(The app is WifiN by Wako. B)

maybe u can enable do not auto update from setting or the app has a auto-update feature itself.

It's simple. Just re-sign the apk. It will no longer see it in the market for updates

I have a few apps that for one reason or another I refuse to update (most are due to MD) and it's annoying to have them in my update list.
Hi all dear XDA users.
I have a problem with the Play Store. I need to disable the auto update of the Play Store itself (not to be confused with excluding application updates). If anyone knows a way and would be able to share it, I would be very grateful.

Play store settings/network preference/automatically update apps.
I am not talking about updating the application via the Play Store, but about disabling the auto-update of the Play Store Application itself.

It seems to me that it's the same thing or else put restrictions on the play store by prohibiting Wifi and data, by doing this you will no longer have any updates.
