[Q] Android EDS truecrypt not showing Video Thumbs - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

EDS is really the best for dealing with encrypted data stores.
But unfortunately, any video included in the encrypted file that is being opened by EDS is not showing as thumbnails while any Photo included is showing its thumb.
I tried with the option included for MIME but always failed ex.:
wmv video/x-ms-wmv
or
wmv video/x-ms-mplayer
the photo has no problems with the following:
jpg image/jpeg
Also, when i tried to insert two MIMEs, all files don't show thumbs.
Any help?

[Q] best 3d formats for images and videos?

hey guys.
is either photo format better than the other? my tv unfortunately can't reproduce either .mpo or .jps, but i wonder if either one can give a better image simply because it'll compress less or something.
what about video format? I would assume .mp4 is a better format? my tv thankfully plays both formats just fine, so i've been watching my videos on it. i can't tell a difference between a format and the other, but haven't done extensive comparisons yet.
any other suggestions on how to get the best image quality for pictures and/or videos on this phone are welcome
I really wouldn't say there is a best format... would really depend on the device you are viewing on.
But I put Inception in 3D on my phone. Was a MP4 file but .m4v extension.
I've switched to using .jps as my standard 3D image format, because when viewed in a standard image viewer on a non-3D setup it displays as two side-by-side images (whereas .mpo simply won't display in most 2D image viewers).
I haven't noticed any difference between the image quality of the two formats.
thanks for the info. i'll use .jps and .mp4 then. hopefully samsung will update the firmware to support either photo format soon

[Q] Transfer of video files

Hey,
I wanted to know if there is a way to transfer video files from laptop to my phone , xperia P without converting the videos. Whenever i try to copy movies and music videos they ask for converting the videos before copying. After skipping the conversion part i was unable to play the video. It was lagging and getting stuck. And converting took several hours. Could anyone advise me if there is a possibility to transfer video files to android phone without converting. The very same video i am successfully able to download through my phone but not able to transfer to my phone. Requesting for your opinions and suggestions.
what s the resolution of videos u want to transfer?
Irrespective of the resolution all videos require conversion. for eg: recently i tried to transfer a video of matroska format 1280x544 pixels. Again the same thing popped up but when i downloaded the video through torrents it played without any problem. Even the smaller resolution ones too. Very few times and that too countable ones i was able to copy with out any trouble. For eg. once i transferred a video of 10MB size , mp4 format and it copied without conversion (sorry i don't remember the resolution of it) .

Click to collapse
that s weird. I have no problems with videos on my sola with or without converting them. Try to convert videos in 600x320 resoltion, then they should not lag

[Q] Can't play 3gp video file on my phone and pc. WHY?

I had this app on my phone that could record videos and take pics in secret. I recently bought the app to gain 1/3 access of it's functionality. Started to test the camcorder and looked it up in my sdcard directory. Played the video file but the notice came up as "Unable to play video file". I thought this was something that you can play only on my computer with any player software like Windows Media Player, VLC or Realplayer but GUESS I WAS WRONG. I ported over this "3GP" file from my phone to my computer, chose any video player software that can play this file and all off them failed. Classic Media Player tells me that there's a missing filter, Quicktime can't understand the file, RealPlayer says that I'm missing a "moov atom" and I have this FreeStudio software by DVDVideoSoft and tried to convert it but it told me that "Unable to convert format. File is DRM protected". Can anyone tell me what's going on here and is there anyway without going to some nefarious website for solutions?

[Q] Uploading video for Snapchat story (no root)

Hello there! I've searched for an answer to this on the forum, but couldn't find anything. Similar threads were in this part of the forum, so I hope I've posted this in the right area.
I'm trying to upload a video that I've recorded using Snapchat as a story without rooting my HTC One. The video was recorded on the app, downloaded, and then sent as a one-time view video rather than added as a story at the time. This means the video resolution should be fine and that it doesn't need to be trimmed. I've had success sending the video again by:
- Recording a sample Snapchat video
- Using the Task Manager to swap to File Explorer
- Pasting my video into Snapchat's my_media folder
- Replacing the name of my video with the exact title of the sample video (including nomedia file extension)
However, when I try the same method for posting a story it shows my video on the app, but then says that it can't set the video as a Snapchat.
There's clearly something else that needs to be altered. There are sometimes sesrh_dlw prefixed files in the my_media folder with .mp4.nomedia extensions, but they can't be viewed as videos.
Does Snapchat take a note of the length and file size of the video and check whether it correlates when you try upload it as a story? And if so, why doesn't it do this when you send it as a one-time view video.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
it's very easy
You need to delete all the contents of the folder (mp4.nomedia and jpg.nomedia ).
Turn off the network and send a video to your history. Will be creat an file in the folder (/sdcard/Android/data/com.snapchat.android/cache/my_media/). This is your history. Copy the new video to this folder and rename with the history's name.
Turn on the network and resend the history.
P.S. I don't speak English
Does that work for the Snapchat story? I know it works for when you send videos individually to people in your contacts but couldn't find a way to upload a video for everyone to see as a 'story'.

My Whatsapp's images and videos have vanished but still accessible!!! Please help!

Hi guys,
My dualApp whatsApp's images and videos have vanished from the Galleries and are nowhere to be found using the built-in S9 explorer!!
Yet when I open my DualApp and go into a conversation's media Tab, I can see all the images and videos are still there and I can even watch the videos!! Yet when I chose "Open in Gallery" when viewing the items, I get an error!
So now, I have no way to view the images and videos like before in gallery, nor back them up!
Also, now, when I try to take an image or video from that dual whatsapp, I get a "file format not recognized" error!
Please can anyone help?
Thanks.
P.S: The Main Whatsapp (non dual app) images and videos still do show up in galleries, and I can take pictures and videos no problem.
