i am a huge noob when it comes to this stuff and i really don't know what to do...
i have an ideos x5 u8800 android version 2.2.1 and i want to upgrade it to at least 2.3
i don't know where to find a download link, even if i had found one i have no idea what to do with the stuff i downloaded and how and where to put it in my phone, so 1. help me get a download link , 2. please with a quick explanation tell me what to do with it.

Hi Guys I've been sent over here from slatedroid because they can't answer my questions, I been assisted in dumping my system,kernel etc from my tablet but no matter how much searching I do I can not find any imformation any it. My aim is to update the rom to 1.6 at least so I can put kindle on it and have a choice of a few apps. I searched a way to root my phone in this site and every other I found and didn't
find one.
Excuse me if this post is not necesary and the solution was right in front of me the whole time.
I tried my best not to unnecesary disturb the comunity but failed.

I didn't told you before the methods I already tried.
First: before reading that many exploits were fixed in 2.3.6 I tried z4root and superoneclick with zergRush.
Both got stuck in the middle.
To fix the backwards direction of hebrew text (the main reason why I need to root this device so urgently) I tried to update from Settings>about phone>system updates (somone somewhere sayd It worked for him) and RTLAutoPatcher-1.5 that needs the rom to be deodexed and mine is not.

I finally found out what i was doing wrong, I deactivated my antivirus and downloaded superclick again and at it worked!!
Now I'll try to find a way to fix the text direction without changing my rom but if I'll must I'll probably end up chaging the rom

Log in as root to my smartphone GOOGLE delete some applications ... and it was a mistake:silly:, I did not backup.

This is the first (and only) time that I have try to root my phone (with the AAHK). After alot of reading I managed to ROOT my Desire HD and it says S-OFF.
The problem is that I am not able to install a costum ROM. I have tried the following roms:
1. Android_Revolution_HD-4G_6.3.3
2. TrickDroid_v2.0.0_C2
And I allways get the same error. It says status 0. I found in some other threads on XDA-devoloppers that the problem is: "Wrong update-binary".
Can someone please help me to find a solution to this problem because I am really new to this and have been searching for 2 days now and still cant find an answer.

Forgive me for I have NO clue what kind of phone you have. I did a quick search and it seems like lenovo makes lephone. Can you get me an exact device model number? It's usually under the battery.
Oh and this specific section of xda is for the sgh-i717. You might want to post in an general non device section for more support since your phone isn't listed as a supported device on here.
