I cant connect my xperia mini to PC in any mode. windows displays 'device not recognized' error. though all my drivers including fastboot and ADB are set up perrfectly. Phone shows green and blue LED when connected in flashmode and fastboot mode but still nor recognized by windows. Device manager shows Error code: 43
please help.
Download flashtool, go to the installation folder -> drivers and install all drivers for all devices/modes. If this won't work install PC Companion or Sony Update Service, they should install the drivers automatically
Will Work!

This method is VALID. Just install drivers from flash tool folder. It'll work!
I already mentioned I had all drivers.
Turns out it was a USB cable problem. got a new USB. fixed.

I've got an Xperia U (st25i) unbranded firmware 6.0.B.3.184, but my Windows 7 x64 doesn't show adb device at all, I have a working mtp device (that looks like it cannot be disabled). Same device works fine in adb on linux, even passing the usb device to a vmware machine with linux.
I've tried with Xperia_P_Xperia_U_Xperia_sola_drivers.zip and install PC Companion, but the adb devices still does not show, if I force add the adb interface from inf, windows 7 says it cannot start, there is same problem on windows 7 x86. Windows xp x86 instead automatically installs mtd devices but prompts for the adb device drivers, so I can give him the drivers. Any clue?
Make sure PC is connected to internet then connect the device in fastboot mode. Win7 downloads and installs drivers automatically.

Had the Same issue. Just Google for win7 64bit and xda. Sorry i have no Link. But Problem solved easy

I don't need fastboot drivers, just adb to develop, I'm always connected, but adb interface does not show at all in device manager, I don't have unknown/failed devices in device manager

You have the "wrong" drivers installed. Use the drivers provided with c:\flashtool\drivers
-> then turn off internet on pc before connecting phone. <- prevents windoze from auto install via update

The only driver windows automatically install is the mtd (that doesn't need internet because is in win), I don't have the device VID_0FCE&PID_5171&MI_01 but only VID_0FCE&PID_5171
It's a bit strange a common developer should download a non sony tool to develop with a sony phone
I had a similar problem with my XS, I get around it by enabling 'install PC companion' in connectivity settings under 'xperia'. Then when you plug the phone in, on your phone select install. It should then appear both as an MTP device the PCC installation, just cancel that latter.
I've used the wrong thread title, it should be x64 not x86, I've just verified that windows 7 32bit downloads and installs the adb driver, I had similar problem with gt7500 on windows xp 64bit, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434319
I've solved modifying the inf file, I think I cannot change inf on windows 7 x64 because the driver becomes unsigned. Perhaps gt7500 works fine on windows 7
Heh... You stiill refuse to listen.
Install drivers provided with flashtool. Just doit and report back
mt27i
tested with internet disconnected and drivers pack in flashtool-0.9.1.0-windows.exe, same thing, windows shows only mtp device

Tell Me how Please....:crying:
I just solved this issue for my Xperia S.
Here are the steps:
1. Install driver on flashtool (I also install the pc companion)
1. On device manager, open the MTP device, and select reinstall device driver
2. Choose install the driver manually and list the compatible driver
3. It would only show one "USB Composite Device" for this device and install it
4. After the driver installed, the adb device just shows up!
i have a LWW Unlocked bootloader
i want to flash a rom but im in a stock ICS .587 non-root stock kernel
All drivers are already installed (i think), when i open flashtool and connect my phone in fastboot mode (volume up) the blue led is turned on but it can't be recognized in the flashtool, in the log when i connect my device it says "device connected in flash mode"
help ! i need to flash a kernel
bump i need help
When I connect my LWW in fastboot mode, Flashtool on my home PC recognizes it as connected in flashmode. If I connect it in flashmode, it is recognized as flash mode, as it should, but again, fastboot is also recognized as flashmode. I tried to remove GGSEMC drivers, but no luck - when I connect phone in fastboot mode Windows recognizes it as S1 Boot Fastboot unknown device first, then suddenly it changes to SEMC Flash device and driver for flashmode is auto-installed.
What can I do? please help
try re-installing the sony driver. that should work.
Try reinstalling the drivers or install pc companion/sony update service, they should automatically install the drivers
done that already. but didn't work
Use 2.0USB ports, i was using USB3.0 ports and that was my problem.
1)download and reinstall drivers.
2) In settings->developer options-> enable Android USB debugging

Do you have PC Companion or are you going to flash with flashtool?
PC Companion should have installed flashmode.
Flashtool have drivers in it's directory, install all 3, Xperi P, fastboot, and flash mode drivers.
first of all cheak the usb cable you are using
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
It should work with all kind of USB cable which is compatible with your USB port.
But you need to install adb interface Drivers if you are using windows/Linux or BSD / Macintosh to access to your files with PC or Mac book/iMac .
Or just simply you can use Sony companion suite which is available for almost all operating systems and it'll install needed drivers.
If you mean you can't use flashmod or fastboot mode you need to use flashtool drivers pack which is available in programs directory in a folder called "drivers" based on your operating system.
For example its x:\flashtool\drivers in windows os.
And "x" will be your windows drive.
You can also connect your phone to your computer and use one of hundreds missing driver founder programs in order to find compatible adb driver

i had a fresh install of windows 7, evn prvsly i was on windows 7 and somehow i had managed to install all drivers for xperia p
but after this fresh install i am unable to go to fastboot , somehow i installed flashmode drivers
i evn installed the drivers from fastboot-drivers.exe but no use when i start flashtool and try to enter fastboot mode i get an error message saying the device drivers are not installed , install these drivers from flashtool folder
what do i do ? evn in device manager when i update it doesnt find any software.. when windows try to install s1boot fastboot drivers it shows not installed
where m i wrong? please help me
I think i had that same problem too, and took me some time to find the right answer, it is probably windows that won't install unsigned drivers, so try reboot, and press F8, and allow installation of unsigned drivers, though i just wrote a CMD code at that page i visited, but i can't find it now lol.
Well try here http://www.techspot.com/community/t...signed-drivers-in-windows-vista-7-x64.127187/

Hello friend, try to connect to another USB port on your computer, if it does not work disconnect any USB devices you may have connected and try again, if still don't work is because drivers are not installed, try re-install them again, what windows version are you using, if it is Windows 8 there is special procedure how to install fastboot drivers,
Good luck
Yeah first make sure you see it in the Device Manager on Windows.

1- Hold SHIFT and restart you computer, always holding SHIFT or run this "shutdown /r /o"
2- You should be now on "Advanced Startup options", select "Troubleshoot" --->"Advanced Options"--->"Startup settings"--->"restart"
3- Next select option 7
4- plug your phone to computer in fastboot mode and install flashtool drivers, remenber to say yes on the windows appearing during installation, after everything is installed, restart your computer and problem solved.
