How do you change the billing cycle on data usage. Mine is about 9 days off.

If you are in the Mobile data screen where you see the cycle, just click the dropdown box that contains the dates, then click "Change cycle...".

I'm still kinda new to android and settling in with it, but just today I went over 100% of my data plan. I found the message a bit odd as I had a message not too long ago (about 6 hrs ago) saying I was at 65%. I didn't use the data much in the 6 hr time period, I only used the facebook app a few times and I think thats all that I used that would normally use the data plan. or could it be the widgets? I only had beautiful weather widget and super clock on as well as the facebook and youtube widgets. would having performance mode on be the reason as to why I jumped from 65% to 100%?
What data plan do you have?

I had something similar happen with my wife's Atrix. Both mine and hers have the 2gb plan. We use wifi at home and work so we don't push all that much data through at&t.
We went out for dinner last week, away from wifi for about an hour. Not long after we got home, a notification arrived saying her phone had hit 2.7gb!! I had looked at util a few days prior an both were at 20-30mb. The util report on their website said all 2.7gb had been used that day, starting at the time we went out. I used my phone as much as she did, and mine showed a more reasonable 4mb for the day.
To hit that, her phone would have had to be downloading at a sustained 6mbps the whole time we were off wifi. Best speed I have seen through at&t in my area is 2.5mbps.
Customer service opened an investigation, but it will take til the 21st. In the meantime, the overage still shows on my account.

I have the 200 mb data plan (lame right? ) but last I checked on my data usage was the previous night, and I only used up less than 100 mb, and this weekend only I medium usage of navigation for android and did some internet surfing and used youtube outside of the house and without wifi. But today I had barely touched my phone except maybe 2-4 times and at 8 am I found that I used up nearly 30k kb and 77k kb at 10 am
It would be interesting if you could use wifi and put it through a proxy on your home network to see. If it's something in the radio it may not show
Since you're on Wifi at home have you checked your home data usage?
do you guys have any app to monitor your data usage? 3G watchdog can tell you exactly how much data each app is using, maybe something is syncing in the background...but 2gb should be plenty if you are not downloading or streaming videos.
Didn't have a data monitor running before but you bet I have both phones monitored now!
It has to be a monitoring error. All she was doing at the time was web browsing...no video, app installing, etc.

I used almost 1gb of data on the last day of my billing cycle making me exceed 5gb data usage for the whole billing cycle. Today is the first day of my billing cycle and my data speeds are still slowed…I also got a text message from tmobile that my data speeds will be slowed for the remainder of the cycle because I have exceeded the 5gb limit. This is ridiculous because new billing cycle has started and my data speed is still slow. Can they slow the data speed for new billing cycle based on the data usage for previous billing cycle?
Any one have any advise what should I do? I would call tmobile but they are closed today for thanksgiving.

P.S. I wouldnt mind applying a workaround to get back my data speed but I think I shouldnt have slow data speed in a new billing cycle.

I got some issues with data usage, cycle, and graphs. i was wondering if anyone knows the answers to these questions of course without using another app or rom's data usage.
1) I was wondering if we can set the white lines to show the billing cycle (1 month) by default instead of the last 7 days only? I have to scroll back everytime to check.
2) my data usage reset on me a couple of times without me doing anything. Im not sure whats causing that, but i do have a theory that there is a "lag" of when you set your cycle and when the resets happen.
So if you initially have set on the 15th, then you change to the 1st.
And if its the 13th today. I think there is a reset on the 15th, then it goes to your new billing cycle.
This is just a theory, im not 100% sure. Can someone verify this?
If this is true, how can i make it instant instead of the delay?

Very recently checked my data usage & it seems like two thirds of it has gone. I don't have a small allowance but I don't ever remember my GS3 using anything like that in a month. Even when I first got it and was loading stuff on it?
Anyone else noted this?
I wonder if your Lumia is set to automatically upload the photos to Skydrive. I turned mine off in the settings.

Nope made sure that was turned off.
The only apps I allowed to update in the background was Weave & Battery.
its a known bug.

I have the same problem as well. I have been connected for the last 14 days using wifi - and I've already used this month's data quota - which is 750MB. Before I had this phone I had a Sensation and that never went above 300MB a month as everything went through the wifi. I spoke to tmobile (uk) and they said turn the data connection off - that's great how do I send and recieve emails when I out and about without blowing my monthly download. They said talk to Nokia....
And yes I am running Portico...

I can't say that. Truly I'm unable to confirm what you're saying as I was far from home for three days and downloaded a lot on network.
I can only say that today I was home most of the time, and it stayed on WIFI.
I'll confirm that after few days
