Use wifi hotshot & usb tether from developer 'erda team.' It's in the Play Store, it's free and just works. I use in on my vzw Galaxy S3. I tether my laptop to my S3 to take advantage of 4G speed.
I also used it to link my unlocked Galaxy y to my locked S3 when I was traveling. This allowed me to buy cheap foreign sim cards, plug them into the (cheap) young then access the Internet from my S3. More help if you need it.

Should work. Once you install it turn it on. It will give you a pin for you to enter into your ps3 to pair the devices.
Then from your ps3 do a wifi search to find your phone (you can also rename your phone to make it easier to locate, ie I use 'Johnnys S3.' Once found, enter the pin you were given. Now you are paired. You also have to authorize the ps3 from your phone. Set your phone as the default wifi on your ps3 so that you don't have to enter a pin each time. In the future, you will only need to turn on the phone app to pair the devices.

Parrot Asteroid on a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy s 2

So I called parrot to find out about the Dun feature where you can connect to the internet via bluetooth. They told me that it will not work with my Samsung and will only work with Motorola. I have tried several times with my Galaxy s2 and had no luck. He also told me that I can use USB tethering to make it work, but the carrier will charge about $25 a month. Tmobile charges about 15 a month, but of course, i dont want to pay that! I am rooted. I am wondering how I can USB tether without having to pay for it? I know there are apps like pdanet and usb tether lite but the problem that I am facing is that it requires me to install the software on to my computer to use. Since it is not a computer that I am trying to connect it to, but a car stereo, I am having an issue. I thought, hey maybe I can search for an app that doesnt require me having to download any software, but thats not looking so good. So here is my question. WHAT DO I DO? does anyone know of any tethering apps that will work for me? thanks in advance for your help.

[Q] please help

Just got my new Samsung Galaxy S II from T-mobile. I need help with the mobile hot spot tethering as I cannot access it anymore. Looks like t-mobile is blocking access even using Tether apps from play store, still wont let me access internet through my laptop.
Is there a way to bypass all of this junk and use the mobile hotspot tethering service? Would it help if I root the phone or flash with a custome ROM?
I'm new to all this, perhaps can you guys walk me through? I just dont want to break my new phone.
thanks

Hi, I have a Galaxy Tab 7.7 by Verizon and I'm thinking about buying a Verizon prepaid smartphone + plan for 60 dollars a month but what I want to know is will I be able to take my sim card out of my smart phone and use it in my Galaxy tab for data use only so I that I can surf the internet?
Will a Verizon prepaid smartphone sim card work on a Verizon Galaxy Tab for data use?

I understand that the text feature and anytime minutes want work on the galaxy tab. I just want to use the prepaid simcard from my verizon smarphone with the Galaxy Tab so I wont have to pay phone a phone and a data plan for a tablet monthly.
I tried chatting with 2 Verizon reps but I was never give a clear answer. One would say I will need to buy both. SMH... and the other would say no and tried to get me to buy a mifi jetpack and smartphone.... I don't know if there trying to hide the fact that his can be done because of apps that would come in handy with this method like GoogleVoice, Gtalk etc.

If your smartphone runs Android, then you can buy the data plan and activate the hotspot tethering on the phone and with the WiFi activated on the tablet, you can surf the net with the tablet through the data plan in your smartphone.
I do the same between my Grand duos, Nokia E7 and Galaxy Tab P7500, my laptop and whoever I chose to give access up to 10 devices. All the devices are fed through the data plan in my P7500.
Cheers.

A way to get 4G on S III?

Hello everybody!
Today I have read about connecting 3G modem to Android tablet via OTG USB.
So, can't we, owners of non-4G S III, connect 4G modem to S III and make it working?
Maybe, is there a way to take a case, which will cover back of the phone, and to hide under case a 4G dongle, and connect it via cable with charging-and-OTG-in-one. After that we put one sim-card without internet to phone, and one sim-card with 4G internet to this dongle.
May we make 4G dongle working on Android, especially S3?
P.S. Yes, I know, that it's better to buy another phone, but I want to do some experiments with this device.
Sure, go right ahead and let us know how you get on.
You can buy a 4g phone, better spec than the s3 for £150 with lollipop included.
