Hello, just rooted may Padfone JellyBean 4.1.1
1. Download Bootloader Unlocker from ASUS website
vvv.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/PadFone/#support_Download_32
Unpack it in your computer, move it to your phone and install it. Turn on WIFI or Mobile Internet, run the Unlocker and install it /follow the onscreen instructions.
2. Download this
matthill.eu/content/downloads/transformerprime-root/motochopper.zip
For your info matthill.eu/android/root-transformer-prime-jellybean-update/
3. Enable USB debugging
4. Run run.bat file, should root your phone in a minute. Mine was rooted the way, that it pushed all the files in phone and I got success, but also my phone was frozen. I just removed the battery and started the phone again and I was rooted! I unistalled all the software I hated - like vibe, news etc. For that you need to install root unistaller from android market.
I have Padfone 1, WW firmware 4.1.1 Android.
Hi, I'm a newbie trying to root my padfone. I followed instructions above but keep getting 'adb server out of date' and then it hangs. What do I need to do?
Thanks

Try this:
xttp//visualgdb.com/adbfix/ put http
Also I have to mention, that I had NOT INSTALLED sync software in coomputer. Only drivers for Padfone where installed. Maybe to unistall sync software, or to try to follow the steps in link. Also if sucessfull post it here, so that we have all another experience and solution.
Well. I uninstalled syn apps, ran motochopper again and got SUCCESS, but the phone is still not rooted!!! I'm looking around for anything else I can try, I'll keep you posted, maybe someone out there has another idea??

Hi, Bro.
1) I have the problem with SuperUser. "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
2) After run the "run.bat" file and success, error occur and PadFone shut down by itself. I have to switch on the phone by myself. Is it rebooting itself if the rooting process success?

Hi again, Bro.
Finally I rooted successful. Really frozen that time. But it will be rooted after switch on again. Solution from me is Unlock the Padfone again. And run the "run.bat" file. It should be okay. Must frozen in padfone, do not let it shut itself down. Mean the "run.bat" show "SUCCESS !" only. And I unplug the USB cable. It is alright if the error occur. Just switch on the PadFone, it should be rooted now. Thank.
This is my situation to root the PadFone, I am not sure it will happen on other PadFone too. Post it if you have another solution to root PadFone.
Thanks, it worked for me by unplugging the usb cable as soon as it shows "SUCCESS" and then I tried to shutdown the phone but I had to remove the battery. After powering it on again I got root.

Thanks in advance

I got the root from here
xxx.slatedroid.com/topic/33144-haipad-i9220-mtk6575-android-40/
1.Please download root file on
xxx.t-kstore.com/4.0root.rar
2.Go to*setting-developer options-click USB debugging
3.Connect the phone with computer, turn on usb device.
4.Click the file you download from the link TPSparkyRoot.bat*
5.Your phone will restart first time, after the phone start finish(until you see the unlock),click enter in the window of TPSparkyRoot.bat.
6.The phone will restart second time, still the same as first time we did. Then start third time, same as we did in last two*times.Click enter, then phone was rooted.
7.You will see two more app was installed in your phone, that mean root phone successfully.
thanks! that was very helpful information! i had some trouble getting windows to connect to my device. kept getting the error: device not found. i suppose it is because i didn't have the proper drivers for the device.
but it is surprisingly easier when done in linux. i just needed to mess around a little with the udev rules.
for the benefit of newbies like me, the instructions provided from that link provided by worldbreaker, i didn't completely follow them. you can choose to install your own superuser and root explorer apk here. in my case, i already installed the Superuser app from the play store even before the rooting process. i also installed Root Explorer separately from the rooting process as well. so no chinese apps for me
now what?

Hi everyone,

Dapeng i9800 firmware found but links dead! Nead russian help!
Hi, I'm from West-Germany and got into trubble:
First of all, I used A Dapeng I9800 for more than 2 years without any problems!
Then, I got my Winter-Blues and cleaned cache from recovery mode!
After that the device didn't boot, because it wanted a passwort to use the cache, which wasn't set. No prob so far!
The solution I found was, that I have to set back to factory default.
But I took off the battery while it was formatting.
Yes, shame on me, I wasn't patient(!) thats my fault!
Now, I've got two new problems:
Is the EMMC bricked?
My russian isn't good enough to enter this forum: china-iphone.ru
to ask these two guys:
BBV1962 http://forum.china-iphone.ru/member12688.html
and:
designed http://forum.china-iphone.ru/member201062.html
via PM, for a working link they posted for my device in their posts on this sides:
http://forum.china-iphone.ru/n9880-6-0-480x854-1-2ghz-android-4-0-3-2x3000-mah-t21999-120.html
http://forum.china-iphone.ru/n9880-6-0-480x854-1-2ghz-android-4-0-3-2x3000-mah-t21999-140.html.
The MTK6575-77 6" original firmware ROM below the posted picture is what I mean.
I hope, someone can get a link for me AND it is not worthless, because the EMMC is broken, as my own backup dosn't work.
Maybee you can get the info hww to flash back exactly, because I get an 4010 format error with the spflash tool.
Thanks a lot
Hello, i just recently purchased an Allview P5 smartphone, it's really cost efficient but recently i started getting some problems because the phone is not rooted and i was wondering how to root the android 4.04. i tried the superoneclick 2.3.3 and installed adb and something from java, bu when i rung the program superoneclick the program just freezes and it's not responding. any suggestions or guides that i should follow?

Try root for HaiPai I9220. For me it works.
Having the same problem here, Superoneclick freezes on step 7 iirc.
HaiPai didn't work for me either
So that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923764
There you will find this: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?othd1gf76pa97zg
It is 100% functional, but need more knowledge and skill.
Ok, I came a lot further this time, but still stuck.
As soon as I let Cygwin `patch` the recovery.img, it does the patching and stuff, but it doesn´t create a new recovery.img for some reason..
If you check page 13 of that PDF manual: I get all the same messages in Cygwin, except for that "Repacking" bit.
Any Idea why it isn't repacking?
Losing my nerves a bit because of Cygwin, what a horrible program to get to work properly. Installation went on beyond 100%, till about 2000% and then just started to count further in negatives >____<
You must have installed 7-zip archive program.
SuperOneClick should work for this device. You may try this:
1) unmount the sd-card, turn ON usb-debugging
2) turn OFF usb-debugging
3) connect device to PC
4) click "Root"
5) when "Waiting for Device" appear turn ON usb-debugging
6) when "Starting ADB Server..." turn OFF usb-debugging
7) then turn it back ON
8) and back OFF
9) repeat this while "Waiting for Device" appears again.
@Stovka: I have 7zip installed, the unpacking/extracting of the recovery.img goes fine in Cygwin, but for some reason it just skips the repack part.
@AndreyETO: As soon as I disable debugging mode, superoneclick stops the procedure, so I didn't get far with that
So sorry, I don't really know what is the problem...
It was all ok for me - the one problem was that I had not installed 7-zip, but after installing it worked exactly according to instructions.
If it were successful: after recording recovery.img to the phone is first necessary to go into CWM mode (no run phone) and install the root file attached. End CWM recovery mode is classically done by clicking on "reboot system now", but after the first time there appears one more option (just I don't know what name), which must be confirmed! Otherwise, when you restart the phone again, then will be loaded the original file and the recovery process must be repeated - upload modified recovery.img and then root file via CWM.

Same experience on Allview P6 Stony (P6_0201_V1179 software build). This method works for me - similarly I had to run the script (and the reboot cycle) 2x before it had an effect.
As pointers for others, before you try this method you need to make sure you have ADB drivers installed. Trying to install stock google drivers didn't work at all for me, what worked for me was installing latest PdaNet drivers (pdanetZ350.exe) from here: junefabrics.com/android/download.php *
Don't forget to install OTA Rootkeeper app afterwards and run it once - hopefully saves you the hassle of rooting again if the P6 should receive an incremental update.
Enjoy, thanks Flapperbol!
(*= sorry Im not allowed to post links)
Version 18 also works
Just to let you guys know that version 18 of Root_with_restore works. I just the ADB drivers from the PDAnet install (which I cancelled after the drivers were installed) and the phone is now rooted!
Does anybody know how to get rid of those ugly allview icons? I hate those things.

Hello huawei users, and welcome to my second 'Root your mediapad 7 youth' thread
Find the original one here
The only difference between this thread and the one linked above is the tool used
This one uses Kingo Android root(English), while the one in the other thread uses Vroot(Chinese)
Of the two, I believe Kingo root is easier to use, as it has step by step instructions in English
DISCLAIMER
1.Neither me nor Kingo is in anyway responsible for anything that does or does not happen to your device as a result of following these instructions. This includes but is not limited to: bricking your device, abnormal functioning of your device and voiding of warranty. Continuing with this guide is accepting these terms.
2. Rooting your device will most likely void your warranty. You have been warned.
3. This guide is intended solely for the device mentioned in the title. It is not meant for use with any other device, and may have unwanted effects.
That being said, let's get on with it
Prerequisites
1. Fully charged PC
2. Fully charged Huawei Mediapad 7 Youth (s7-701u)
3. Kingo Android Root. Find at this link
4. USB cable
Steps
1. Install and setup Kingo
There is a simple, standard windows wizard to follow. Nothing complicated.
2. Plug in your device into your PC
At this point, make sure kingo is open
3. Follow the on-screen instructions
These include enabling USB Debugging, clearly demonstrated on-screen
When it's done rooting, it will reboot, and you are rooted with SuperSU installed.
It's really that simple.
It didn't work

I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't root your devices
Run through this FAQ to see if your computer and device are in the same config as mine
1. Do you have the Android SDK installed?
If not, go here : https://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/index.html and choose the 'eclipse ADT' option
2. Do you have the Java Development Kit Installed?
If not, go here : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19182-01/820-7851/inst_cli_jdk_javahome_t/index.html and follow the instructions
3. Do you have ADB configured?
If not, go here : http://androidcentral.us/2013/08/how-to-install-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows/
If following the above steps still does not help, PM me, hang in there, and I'll try to get back to you :good:.
@whhw31 I'm surprised that neither Kingo nor Vroot worked for you . I'll look ino this and see what I can come up with.
I'm working on a cwm port, but i am not done yet. I will alert you all when i successfully port it .
When that is done, flashing SuperSu.apk + supersu should be a piece of cake .
Till then, just hang in there a little longer.

Hi I am wondering if there is any downside to either of these 2 Methods ? I have this Phone I am pretty familiar with Rooting as I have Rooted many Devices Tablets/Phones Some successful others Semi So my concern is this is my only decent Phone I dont want to Lose any Hardware functions Nor make the phone Slower Simply want to Remove some Apps I don't use That take up the majority of the 8gb of Space Note I have 32gb Sd Installed
I'm getting ready to try this soon. Do you know if root can be removed after it is applied permanently? I'll be giving my kids these phones but need to get past the issue of writing to the SD card as they have already used up all the internal memory, and Googles great idea of preventing write to the SD for apps in 5.x is really a buzz kill so far for them.
Thanks,
Mike

After doing as described my device is now rooted, I also restarted it to double check. For those of you looking for assurance. I used a pentest app and exploited my device with a tool. With this tool I can run check_root and it will either say "Device is rooted" or "Device is not rooted" after running it several times, and restarting my device several times, my device remained rooted. Thank you!
Bad Tutorial
First: You aren't writing English properly. How does it make sense to install the same thing twice? Word it properly. I attempted both methods to no avail. I believe this is because English is not your first language. Thanks for the tutorial . I wish I could have that time back. Love from the USA <3.
Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum and my name is Jessy, and it's my pleasure to be here!
I recently bought this AT&T GoPhone (for around $29) at Walmart, and I was following this guide to allow me to use my SD Card as an internal memory storage unit for my phone, but I found out that I need to unlock the Bootloader, install TWRP, SuperSU and Link2SD apps to the SD card and my phone. Since this smart phone is similar to the Idol 3, could I use this method to unlock the Bootloader for my phone or do I have to try a different approach?
I appreciate your time and I look forward to contribute further to these forums! Thanks again!
-Jessy
I picked one up on Black Friday, and decided to root it. I was only able to install an older version of SuperSU though (v2.46). First I had to install the PC version of KingRoot (It's in Chinese I believe, but middle button is always "next" or "yes"), root the phone, and then replace KingRoot with SuperSU. Took me a few tries.
This is the guide I used from the forum:
SuperSU Me_6.4.apk
KingRootSetup v3.2.0.1129.exe
1. install kingrootsetup on pc(must have internet connection to work)
2. connect ur phone with ADB enabled from developers option
3. root ur phone by following on screen instructions...
4. after rooting, install supersume on phone
5.open the app, click on big blue button and wait...
done,replaced kingroot with supersu..

My Alcatel Ideal 4060A froze a few times during the removal of KingRoot, but all I did was: turn off the phone, remove the battery, and finish the procedure once the phone was on. The phone was only $10 on Black Friday, so you could say it was only an experiment on my part. Unless it's a really good phone, where you can go to the manufacture's website and download the original firmware and install it through your PC, there's not much you can do to unbrick a cheap phone that is practically unknown.

Thank you Mario for your help! I'm having a little trouble having my phone being recognized by Kingroot, although I have ADB enabled from the developers option, it seems not to pickup my phone still. I'm still trying though and I'll let you know if I get it to work properly, and perhaps document my mistake so others following this post who happen to have the same problem could know what to do.

*UPDATE*
Just wanted to update that I found out what was my mistake, which is a really simple and basic mistake, I apologize!
What I did was that after I had enabled ADB through my phone, it was already connected to my PC right after I had downloaded Kingroot, so my solution here was simple. I turned off my phone first, then I turned it back on while still connected with Kingroot still running then Kingroot finally read my phone and it rooted it as you outlined. Thanks again for your help, it is too valuable for me!
Here's the guide that I'm following so that I could install more apps to the phone through my 64 GB SD card if you guys were interested, to make the phone more useful, and I also installed my obama phone SIM card on it as well (from lifeline wireless, because hey why not? )
Here's the link to add more internal memory to this phone

No problem. I'm glad you got the phone rooted. I originally picked up the phone to use as an MP3 player, so I removed most of the unnecessary stock apps with "System app remover (ROOT)", but now that I see how good the phone is (at that price), I plan to use it as a backup phone. It even has a notification LED light for unopened messages LOL; anyway, good luck.
My Alcatel bricked too using this method stuck at boot logo and does nothing... Any fix?
Thanks for writing rooting method for Alcatel 4060a Ideal Pop445. Need some help

I've been an iPhone user for many years, I'm almost new to android. I have unlocked the bootloader from the hidden developers options in the settings app. I haven't found any thing useful to root my new Alcatel Ideal 4060a (Pop 445) (at&t unlocked). There are tons of bloatwares and many apps that I can't transfer to sd card. I hope you two can help me out here as I don't want to brick my device.
Question 1: Do jessy did something wrong(regarding your given steps to root) that makes her device rooted OR she has just been lucky? Because someone just posted that he/she has bricked his/her device.
Should I go ahead and try my luck with your method you there would be some advice you would like to give?
Question 2: If I would be able to root this device, would I be able to install Android 6.0 Marshmellow?
Don't root this yet

I have rooted with Kingroot 5; latest windows version on their website. Now I'm working on replacing it with Supersu or Supersu-me.
I think there always be some solution as far as you are seeing something on your phone's screen.
Just a note from another user with an Alcatel Ideal 4060a... (got for $10 from Best Buy on Black Friday)
Don't try using King-O-Root, then proceed to install Super SU from Google Play. It works that first launch, but on rebooting...
It's permanently bricked. And yes, I tried everything, including adb, recovery (doesn't have an option to flash a rom), from-pc flashing (wouldn't connect/wasn't recognized by adb or the other tools), fastboot (wouldn't launch), etc.
I don't know about the alternate Kingroot app, though. That probably works as some people have said it does for this model.
I was stupid and assumed King-O-Root would work as well, since it seems pretty generic and worked for another phone. I've learned my lesson and will now only follow guides for the specific phone model I have.
Why am I even writing this if it's a different rooting app? Cause I spent 6 hours just to end up killing one of my phones, and this is my best attempt at feeling like there was some worth to the waste. (the chance of preventing someone else the misfortunate, and just ranting)
Anyway, I'm going to bed. (So annoying because I only barely was brash enough to go ahead without a phone-specific guide--was on the fence, but landed on the unfortunate side) Argh! Argh! Argh!

Any solution for this? I want to replace King-O-Root with Super SU.
None that I know of.
I have another Android phone that I was also trying to get root on, and that one gets it temporarily using King-O-Root as well, but I'm too paranoid to try to make it permanent on that second one. Losing both my Android phones would be too painful.
If anything, I guess try the KingRoot program, from the pc, and then use the "SuperSU Me" app, as the person on the first page of this thread described. That way worked for at least one person apparently. (though the poster just after said it bricked theirs, so beware)
By the way, is your root from King-O-Root temporary (till restart) or permanent? I installed Super SU during the same launch I used King-O-Root, so I never got to see whether King-O-Root itself would have worked as a permanent (though non-ideal) solution. (I know that on my other Android phone it's temporary)
King-O-Root = Bricked Phone
KingRoot5 = Root Successful + it is possible to replace with SuperSU

Recovery Retrieved!
I was able to pull the recovery from this phone. Can someone make TWRP for this device using the stock recovery?
Here is the actual recovery image file that I pulled:
(Forgot my old XDA password, had to make another account. Can't post links)

Did you manage to unlock the bootloader? If not then you cant flash anything and building twrp would be useless.

I pulled the boot file. Could someone maybe look at that? I cannot boot to the bootloader.
I could try to flash_image twrp to the recovery and try that.
I got this phone on black friday, shortly after I got root with kingroot 5 pc and it was all great, however I got greedy and replaced kingoroot with supersu :silly:. First reboot and it goes into boot loop. Now its been sitting in a drawer. I think that purify deleted some app it looks at boot.
It looks like the simplest way to get a restore is 'IF' TCL/Alcatel does an update, someone intercepts the signed zip file, then that zip file could be distributed and used with the stock restore.
Hopeful everyone here can work a better solution... thanks for all your hard work everyone.
yes u r right
many time happen with me, Happen with me on asus KA10, But i got fastboot update img lucky. hope that u will get Fast boot image some day or we may able to get recovery for this device . in that case your your phone may start working
