HDMI mirroring and YouTube - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Greetings,
I am running MeanBean 3.09 (thread link below). I have searched the forums a cannot find an answer but wanted to make an enhancement request to the ROM. I am a noob and am not allowed to do so. I currently use AppRadio2 with ARLiberator and it works perfectly. The only problem is when I use apps like YouTube and PVStar+, the HDMI mirroring does not show options on the screen. Options like; pause, play skip ads, and the ability to fast forward videos. It only mirrors the video. I must control the video through my phone which is annoying when you are driving because it is in the glove compartment. Can any one assist with this issue or kindly put in an enhancement request on my behalf? Thanks in advance!

Youtube app as default player

Youtube videos on the Hero open in the HTC flash player, which would be fine if it weren't for the crappy quality, choppy video and distorted colours. On my G1 I was able to open youtube videos in the Youtube application, which is of a considerably higher quality. Is there a way to do this on the Hero
Sorry if this question has been asked, I did a search both on the Forum and on Google but I was unable to come across an answer.
Thanks
I have the very same question. I've been searching the forum and the web without success so far. Anyone?
It is built into the Modaco ROMs. I'd suggest either installing one, or downloading one and seeing if you extract and install the APK.
Regards,
Dave
Which APK? The official ROM already has the youtube app, I just want it to be launched when I click on a youtube video within the browser...
Any other way without changing ROMs?
I'm still looking for a way to do it without switching ROMs, too. If anyone has any ideas please let us know
I would (also) like to know how/if it can be done.
Currently, when I need to play a link in the YouTube app, I copy/paste and load the page in the Steel browser. Steel will let me choose to either use the HTC Flash Player or the YouTube app.
I would have liked the HTC people to at least leave the option with the users...

[Q] Video sequential playback question!! *help*

Hey guys (and gals),
Real quick question. I am running a Hero 2.2 Vanilla and am having difficulty finding a video app (native or otherwise ...doubletwist) that will play videos in rotation. To clarify, I am a fan of music videos and have several on my phone but the player will not cycle from one to the next on the list automatically like it does with music. I have to choose the next vid manually. I know the iphone (grrr) and my ps3 have this capability and was wondering if you might have some ideas.
Thanks,
~Jill~
Moved to Q&A as not development
OK, thanks Pulser. Sorry for the misplace.
No worries. I don't use videos on my phone much, but what about yxflash or something like that?

HDMI Fix...Help please!

So There are tons of great Roms out there and many of them are lacking one thing..HDMI landscape mirroring, So I created this thread in order to try to remedy this. I hope its the right place for the Thread, I don't know where else to look for the answers. I'm hoping that together we will be able to create a flashable zip. Any help is welcomed!

Q&A is where this goes. If you figure out a FIX, THEN it goes here in Development.
Best bet...look on Google to see what devices have working HDMI mirroring for the rom you are looking to use, and see if you can pull some from it and get it working on the Photon.
Mine works on PA 1.6. Full landscape and portrait but sound comes from phone speaker. Have sound out to an old stereo via RCA plug. Works for movies and using as a PC with dock or direct connect

[Q] Variable Speed YouTube Playback?

Ok. I just got through searching the forums and the net and came up empty handed so I am going to guess that this is not possible right now. But just in case I'm wrong, I thought I would post my question here where the experts live. Here's the question:
Q. Shy of downloading the video and playing it back with a different application, is there any way to change the playback speed of a YouTube or embedded video upon first launch in Android?
I have explored the html5 route and no Android browser I found can do this.
I also explored some different applications claiming to offer this but none were actually able to change the video playback speed without first downloading the video.
I have something like this for my PC now. It would be very nice for my GN3.
Thanks.

I really want to know this too. Surely a solution exists now?
The latest Firefox for Android supports variable speed playback on pluralsight.com. Nothing else I tried would.

[Q] Drive Link Full Mirroring Video Playback Issues

Hi,
Sorry if this is a repeat question but thought it might be better in this section.
Samsung S3 with latest firmware etc, drive link full mirroring app installed
Car Head Unit is JVC KW NSX 1
Mirrorlink feature working fine with full mirroring/app mode, audio streams fine. videos and app picture is very laggy, low frames per second, tv apps work but very low fps also.
Ive even installed the screen mirroring patch from google play/samsung but when I run it patch is not required
any ideas guys?
thanks, scott
