Ive recently updated my galaxy s blaze to 4.0.4 with firmware version UVMB1 and i really want to root my phone so i can delete the bloatware and flash some custom roms, my biggest issue is i cant seem to find a root guide that is compatible with my formware version.I came across a root guide that was for my phone, but it stated " Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4g T769 root for ICS UVLH5 firmware." I was basically wondering if i used this guide, would i brick my or cause serious damage to my phone ? Please help me cause im DYING to root this phone, and if i cant use this guide, what guide could i use that would be compatible with my firmware version. Thanks!!!!!!!

Hi Guys
I have recently bought new SGS II phone. I have been using HTC Desire and got more than 1 year of flashing experience almost every week i used to flash new ROM or updates to MIUI Rom. Touch wood i never bricked my phone.
I have rooted my SGS 2 with CF root method. Flashing Samsung device seems to be confusing me. There are so many kernels, Firmwares and even themes are dependent upon which firmware i am running.
I used to flash any rom for HTC desire without worrying about which firmware i originally got.
My carrier is T-mobile UK and running Kernel 2.6.35.7 KG2, can i flash any latest kernel or i need to match anything ?
My firmware is I9100BOKG1, can i update this to any firmware or it must be from UK and same carrier ?
Basically i do not understand what i can do and what i can not. I have searched for these all information everywhere on google but can not find any satisfactory answer.
Expert guys please help me.

Read and learn is the only way .

No flash anything bar ICS.

If you flash a kernel you will lose TMobile update path .
You can simply upgrade via the stock roms thread which debrands your phone or wait for TMobile upgrade but root may throw that out as its not the kernel that came with the phone .
Best solution is to read post one full of how to stickies .

Hi JJ
I have already installed Villian ROM 3.0 & enjoyed it for 2 days then i moved to Batista70 FoxHound Edition 3.0 with latest firmware XWKL1.
Thanks for your help.
Hi, I had rooted my galaxy FIT on stock rom with gingerbread 2.3.4 & firmware version S5670DDKQ5 using SUPERONECLICK earlier.
Recently my fone was upgraded by samsung kies to gingerbread 2.3.6 & firmware version S5670DDKT2, and after the upgrade I was unrooted again
When I tried to root again, all my attempts failed, I used SuperOneClick 2.3.3 to root my fone again, but it failed after STEP 7.
So can anyone please tell me, why can't I root my fone now, has SAMSUNG patched the zergrush exploit?
If so how do I root again?, I mean it should be safe enough to try coz I don't wanna brick my phone....
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance
Hi, apologies if this has been covered but i couldn't find anything specific on this.
I got the ICS 4.0.3 upgrade yesterday for my S2, but my root access seems to have disappeared (upgrade was the official Voda UK upgrade via Kies). I originally followed the instructions on this forum to root the phone a few months ago. Titanium backup has stopped working
Presumably I need to re-root? If so, should I follow the identical instructions which I used for rooting my 2.3.5 version?
Cheers
Wat lp version is it? Just install cf root kernel and u should be fine. Or speed mod. Up to you.
Yes the same instructions, just make sure you root using a cf-root kernel for ICS

AFAIK the software update from samsung is for Jellybean v4.1.2.
Any OTA update will unroot ur phone for sure
PS- and do keep in mind not to create multiple threads for each of ur issue, rather update the same thread

If you wanted rooted stock, via Odin, you can look here:

For some reason, I never remember seeing a regular Odin version of the non rooted software. Heimdall version works fine. Have used it before successfully.
