Force Stop Android System - HTC Droid DNA

I was wondering if an app can be developed to be able to force stop Android system on command without going into notification pull down and holding down on wifi then clicking app info everytime.
I want to be able to get rid of the wifi notification and beats notification to free up space.
Thanks

Sorry if I am misunderstanding but you can tick the show notification box on the app info screen instead of force stopping anything

I'm relatively sure that force stopping android system is a bad thing. I think that there are mods for removing the WiFi notification around here somewhere though.
Edit: Try This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010278

Yeah I updated the software so I'm not rooted. I was just hoping an app could make this process simpler.

For the persistent WiFi notification have you tried to go into settings and untick the notification, never auto turn on wifi, and turn on wifi when launching apps or something like that I heard that helps stop the nagging

Yeah all those settings are in place. It still shows up in the notification pull down unless I hold down on it, go to app info and force stop Android system every time I connect or disconnect to wifi.

I really hope this isnt a wide spread thing. I use Google talk heavily. I cant afford for it to disconnect upon my screen timing out. I havent used it since I activated my phone to test though.
Maybe check under the power saver option in settings. There is an option to turn off background data when the screen turns off. Maybe that's it?

Is anyone else having an issue where google talk won't load for them? I touch the icon and it looks like it loads for a second then flashes back to the app drawer. I tried clearing the application data, didn't help, and of course I can't uninstall/reinstall

Yup, I have to restart the phone to get it working. I also notice that Restart does NOT restart the phone for me. It powers it down.

I have both of those exact same problems. Hopefully, the next software update will fix these issues.

[MOD] Remove the HTC power saver option in the new sense Jellybean update

It was really annoying me so I did some searching and I found this thread.
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016254
Basically if you use titanium back up, you can just freeze or delete "com.htc.htcpowermanager" and it'll disappear.
I just thought I'd share with you guys, credit goes to to the guy who found this in the link above, I'm just passing it on.
EDIT: Freezing or deleting it will both cause your battery menu in settings to disappear. This isn't really an issue to me as there isn't really anything in there that you can do, besides see whats' eating your battery. IMO this is negligible especially when new roms will be rolling out soon, hopefully with a work around.
Wouldn't delete it just in u may need it later. Freezing is the best option for all annoying system apps. Thanks for sharing the link tho.

Read the edit I just made to the OP.
In JB you can long-tap on a notification and click on App Info. I did a Force Stop there, notification went away. Hopefully there are no other side effects. If there are any, I will report them.
LOL 5 minutes later, and it's back. And you cannot uncheck "Show Notifications"
I used this to get rid of mine. Think its a good alternative.

I have had mine turned off since I loaded the Rom and its still there. If we could just unlock the show notification option maybe that would turn off the one minor annoyance.
Is there documentation on what the power saver function specifically does?

Um that's not what you edit to remove the wifi notification. And most custom roms that you download have the wifi notification removed already.
Go to settings>wifi turn off auto turn on , and click don't notify and you shouldn't see it anymore.
I don't believe we are talking about the same thing. I want to remove the nag from when you click the WiFi widget to turn it on instead of it opening up the screen to click the switch on.

I believe going to Backup Plus and deactivating it will work. If not you can try this:
Go to your my Verizon account, remove all email addresses from your vz backup feature in "manage email settings", hit apply. You will then get a text saying VZWUEP: DELETE. This confirms the texts should stop.

The trick, although i know you will hate to do it. You actually have to call Verizon and have them remove backup completely from your account. I do so much flashing i would get this all the time. That seemed to turn out to be the only fix. The text is from the server asking they phone, Hey are you there and do you have time to update your backup file? When they turn it off at the server, it no longer sends the remote assistance request.
There is something that can be altered to stop it from happening. I'm going to try to get in touch with the dev who did it and see if he'll tell me his secret.

GS4 Wifi Tether Fix (root only)

Hey guys/gals, here is a fix for the VZW GS4 that resolves the issue of WiFi hotspot tethering. In the latest update, you now get an errors message that checks for an active subscription and then gives you an error and turns off the hotspot. Here are 2 methods I found.
Method 1: Download any app that allows you to freeze/defrost packages. If you cannot find one or do not have one, download an app called System Tuner by 3c. You have to find a package called "SPG" (system package). Freeze this package and it will prevent the phone from checking for a subscription service. Run your non-factory hotspot app. It will crash and maybe freeze for the first time, and then exit, just reopen it and it should then work.
Method 2: Using System Tuner, find the package called "SPG" and click on it so that it becomes highlighted. Then click "Details" so that it brings up the info about the app. It should show a list of packages under the "Activites" section (near the bottom). Uncheck the box labeled "NewSPGActivity". After this, you can run your hotspot app and it should crash/freeze for the first run. After that, it should run smoothly.
I hope this works for you all. If you have any questions or issues, just reply to this thread. Don't forget to give me a thanks!
Note: Do not use the built-in wifi hotspot toggle switch, it will crash. Download an app from the market to toggle it.
Note: If you cannot access the settings by clicking on the Hotspot notification, do this: settings>more networks>mobile hotspot.
Note: I am running ME7 with 4.2.2 JellyBean and stock rom.

If you are trying to run the hotspot from the built it button, it will crash. Use an external app for your hotspot. I use "1-click tether" at the moment. I'm going to do some more looking right now.

FoxFi uses your data plan, so if you don't have unlimited data it will cost you a lot of money. The technique I'm using prevents the phone from checking if you have an active subscription or not. Also, FoxFi limits how long you can use it continuously if you don't purchase the pro version. I used to use FoxFi before i rooted my phone.
On VRUAME7 build hack is not required. Toggle the built-in Wifi hotspot on and as soon as the subscription check message comes up just press the home button and it will go in the background but you will be able to still use tethering.

IF you are correct, you still have to deal with the message every time you want to tether. Also, since you have to hit the home button, if you want to change your setting or anything then you have to go back into the app and deal with the message again. This just makes it easier. Your idea just avoids the issue, mine fixes it. I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. Have a good day!
