I have problem with installing apk's from sd. I have v20C firmware and i observe that for some time i cannot install aps from *apk on my phone... I have marked install app's from unknown sources, and the funny thing is that after launching the *apk the "Install" button is not greyed out, but i can't tap it... I can tap "cancel" button but not "install" button. It's very weird form me. Does anyone have the same problem?

Its really strange, I had installed lot of apps from blackmart and 4shared but never seen such a problem, are u sure ur touch screen is working well in the lower right corner? I asked because there was the same problem with my nokia 5800 later I found that it was the touch screen problem. Later on the insensitive area even increased, causing problem in many apps, although I know nokia 5800 has resistive screen and LG l9 has capacitive but still its worth noticing.

Yes, I have searched the forum, maybe my search terms are just incorrect since I am new to android devices and primarily a windows developer. The problem is this, I have tested 3 roms, Miks cyanogenmod, the songenmod and now Matts cyanogenmod and on all 3 roms, after a few days of use, there seems to be what I refer to as phantom taps on screen rotation. Sometimes when I turn the device, the browser would open, which is set as the bottom right most button on Go Laucher. I assumed the problem would be related to the launcher and changed back to the stock launcher provided with the roms. I then found the same thing would happen in Ireader, which has the page next button located in the same spot when reaching the bottom of a page. Another thing is that the touchscreen stops functioning for no apparent reason, locking and unlocking the device seems to solve this, but its not what you want to happen while playing Drag Racing (and you know you play it too )
Does anyone have any idea what this could be related to? I have been using franco 19.4 cfs kernel and the latest goldenleaf because I figured the screen drivers would be the culprit, with the same result. Now correct me if I am wrong, but I am assuming that flashing the kernel would update /lib/modules installing the correctly compiled drivers for the specific kernel.
Any tips/tricks/help in this regard would be highly appreciated
You can try to reset sensors by clockworkmod recovery or other tool. Cheers!

Thanks for the tip. I can find not function to do this in clockworkmod or any other info about resetting the sensors anywhere
Am I the only one having this problem? I have looked everywhere and cannot find a solution. At this point its driving me insane since its activating apps or exiting apps at the most inopportune times. Even shifts for me when I play Drag Racing, which is highly annoying
I only know you can reset Screen orientation in AmonRa..
I Thought it might be Go Launcher doing this, so I did a rest on the rom, used it without installing other software to eliminate that possibility, still happens though.

As you can see on video sometimes display change without reason, no way to fix ghost tapping in screen of iocean x7 elite,its like somebody press the left side corner of screen each 10scs, any ideas? Faulty unit? ive changed rom to the most updated version Update Official iOCEAN X7 Elite Version: X7_3.0_13_ 20130705-174504 and same and install FTS_upgrade with its archive thats mentioned in some forums for fixing and nothing , i dont know what i do, very frustrating Also i have noticed that display sometimes doesnt respond to sleep time (15 seconds) and never switch off, i have to do it manually...HELP :crying::crying:

i have an issue with my x7 elite, but i'm not sure if it's ghost touch issues or different, but whenever i'm on google play store, it tries to click and download things, usually in the first page. but when i tilt it sideways (landscape mode), it's working fine.
i found several apps behave the same way, automatic like in FB, clicks random things in Youtube, etc.
don't want to use the customized rom, as it's not optimized for x7 elite. hope you find a solution to your issue.

I have tried searching HTC mania for days but with my limited spanish and clumsy google translate I did not find anything that fixes problems occurring after FTS_UPGRADE. So I E-mailed the website I bought my Iocean from and they send me this:

Unzip the file
files inside folder must pass to a completely empty SD card and put the SD card into the phone.
go to the file manager
Once inside click on SD card and then we go to the application apk (FTS_Update.apk) we've uploaded to the card
install
Once installed Open File, then to sdcard and press the F15x16_Lib_app.bin file. in FTS Update
Then just give it to "Start" and leave without touching the screen until finished
Reboot

sorry but after trying to fix it for other ways possible, i had to send it back to China again, thats the only one solution for me and i think the same for you
The update I received did not do any good.
I also had problems with with my screen after FTS_UPGRADE and I was unable to fix it.
I have been following Petertrol for a while on HTC mania, here and on youtube. I'm thinking about sending it back too.

This is my first time specifically posting a question as a Q&A style thread so I hope I'm doing this right.
I have been using the Redmi Note 2 for about a month now. Overall, it's been a great phone (especially considering the price). However, I've been experiencing a couple of issues and I am hoping that some of you may be able to help.
I have rooted the phone but have not installed a ROM/kernel.
I have been using Wakelock Detector to track my battery life. Of most significance is com.baidu.map.location (NetworkLocation). I have attached the two screenshots showing the frequency of how often it wakes up my device. I tried to greenify it but it wouldn't allow me - it says "Sorry, "NetworkLocation" is ingreenifiable". Does anyone have any idea for me?
I have also been trying to use Amplify as another means to try and improve battery life. As mentioned, my phone is rooted, and the app prompted me to install the Xposed app which I did. However, after installing the app, it wants me to install the framework but it does not allow me to. I have attached the screenshot of this too.
Nova Launcher - Sometimes when I open the app drawer, the resolution of the app launcher appears funny. To fix it, I normally just press back and go back into the app drawer and it goes back to normal. I have attached a screenshot of what this roughly looks like. This is not a big deal but can be a little annoying. Has anyone experienced this?
SD Maid - I used to use this app on my old Galaxy S3 i9305 to clear out storage space taken up by unnecessary stuff. This app no longer works on this phone. I have attached a screenshot of the issue that I am having.
I have downloaded Auto Call Recorder from the app store with the intention of having it automatically record my phone conversations. It does not work but I am unable to figure out why. I have checked the settings and I cannot identify any obvious setting that is incorrectly configured.
Flynx - I have been trying to use Flynx as it appears to be an incredibly useful app, but it seems something is not working correctly. In the screenshot that I have attached, where it says "Tap on the bubble to open it!" I am assuming there is a bubble that is supposed to appear for me to tap, but it does not appear.
APUS Launcher/Clean Master - finally and maybe most worryingly, I sometimes get 2 or 3 apps "pushed" to my device prompting me to install it. I can only remember 2 at the moment; APUS Launcher and Clean Master. Fortunately, I am asked to give the app permission for installation but it worries me because it has occurred a few times and I did not download it at all. I do not have a screenshot of this at the moment, but I will do it next time it occurs.
I have been told that my provider (Vaya in Australia) sends out a SMS for "automatic update" purposes. I only spotted this because I have noticed that I was charged for 2 separate international SMS on 2 occasions when I did not send them (to a UK number, +44 7786209730). I am not sure whether this one is a phone problem or something else.
I appreciate any of your assistance in advance and I am sorry if I have not provided enough information. I am also not sure as to which issues may simply be app problems as opposed to a problem with MIUI software or Xiaomi.

Does the crash happen when the dialog opens, or when you click the orange entry?
Try giving your sdcard a name, possibly doing it from a desktop computer.
Hi, the crash happens when I click on "Overview" then click on "To start press [refresh icon]" and then you just press there - what normally happens is it will give a overall summary of the phone.
However, I have just tried it again. When that error message comes up, instead of tapping on the listed entry (as is instructed), I press "Done" and it is able to give me a summary!
So for some reason it appears as though it doesn't work (at least from the error message), and I just press done and it still works.

If you just press "done", SD Maid won't have access to your external sdcard.
Did you try installing the Xiaomi EU rom, since it's supposed to be cleaned from chinese apps (Like the baidu one).

Sorry it seems like I never came back to expand what I have done to try and fix these problems.
I ended up changing to Hermes ROM here http://www.smiui.net/redminote2_hermes.php
Most of the issues above are now solved, but there are some that are still present such as #2 and #5. So Amplify still doesn't work, but I think this is a hardware limitation and Auto Call Recorder still doesn't work. As for why Auto Call Recorder doesn't work, I don't know why, but I am not greatly bothered by it so I have not attempted to do anything to resolve that problem.
I have problem on my z2 which is when I wrote some message, it's show multiple letter even when I just pressing one letter on my keyboard. For example, let say I touch letter 'H' on my keyboard, then it will come out with double letter like 'Hh'. The problem occurred after a week I upgrade lollipop to marsmallow using pre-rooted package. I have downgraded to lollipop from marshmallow using flashtool but still no luck and the problem still occurs. I also test my screen using multi-touch test app from play store and indicate that there are like 2 finger hit the screen in certain area.
I have attached the screenshot from that multitouch test application. Please help me with this problem. Sorry for my bad English.
I had this problem too some time a year ago or so.
It was solved by
- Changing keyboard (to Google keyboard for example)
- Using desktop-version of websites in chrome for example
...if I remember correctly.
I think it's a bug in Xperia keyboards auto correct feature, maybe disabling it could help too.
If i remember correct, this problem also appeared more in Opera than in Chrome....

First of all, i´ve searched about this issue but i didn´t find anything. English is not my first language, so maybe i didn´t search with the appropriated keywords too. Sorry if there is information about this already.
My issue is that after installing one app in my device, the screen flipped horizontally, all the screen! status bar, home button, etc...
I don´t know if installing the app is the cause or just a coincidence.
My device is a car radio, rk3188, and the app i installed is from play store is torque. I can´t indicate the link due to forum limitations, i´m new user.
Not only the rom is flipped, also the recovery menu appears wrong, the initial screen, the booting logo, everything!
Is there any option to fix it? how can be possible to flip the recovery too??
I switched it on previously and for a few minutes all went right, left at left and right at right, but after these minutes it happened again.
As a possible cause of this could be that a rear camera can be attached to this device and there is an option to mirror rear view. I´m afraid something could be wrong with this feature and x-mirroring is always activated, could it be possible?
I´d like to know the cause, but as a work around it would be useful some application that flip screen horizontally to counter this issue. Do you know any app? i´ve searched in google play without success.
