Google Now Appointment Card - AT&T LG Optimus G

Hey guys, I updated to JB (Slick Rom not AT&T stock), downloaded Google Now (Google Search) from play store and I really enjoy using it. But whenever I get "next appointment card" telling me to leave for an appointment, it's based off of driving direction, is it possible to change it to public transportation which is what I use most of the time?
Speaking of the usefulness of that card, wouldn't it be awesome if we're able to choose transportation mode (driving, public transport, biking, walking) when setting up an appointment in Google calendar, Google Now then shows you the travel time from the chosen transportation mode?

Look around the Google maps navigation settings. Not sure if it'll stick to Google Now

Open up Google now and tap the question mark icon in the corner and I think the option is in there.

That is for the traffic card where tapping the icon on the upper right corner expands transportation mode. Nothing for the appointment card though.

no worries, it's all confusing lol. I wish they'd implement the same for appointment. or even better, what I said in the opening post

So, whats your fav lost feature?
I know I have posted a lot of these in the tips/tricks, but its been a year.. some are old and forgotten. Could be new to people. Maybe there are new Tricks since I made that guide.

The thing with numbers I think its called dial pad but you put in a sequence of numbers and you can actually talk to your friends. That's pretty cool.

Swiping the letters to get specific artist names in songs to the music player. Swipe it while swiping it and you'll get and even more in depth search..

New Maps with offline view

Yes the new Maps 5.7 let's you finally DOWNLOAD maps for offline.
no point of downloading if you cant search adress, plain routes or anything....
at least in mine, i cant do these offline
You're right BUT it's at least great for offline exploring desired area, the place you visit abroad especially when the country has horrible internet roaming prices, imagine you go from US to Europe or from EU to Russia or Israel.
In this case it's quite helpful.
I cant seem to figure out how to downlowd maps...can someone help me? What option do I chose?
Sent from my LT15a using XDA App

Yes true this menu is quite hidden.
Awyway you tap and hold on map and get the typical "bubble" with the address, so click it and in the end of the options menu there is "download area" or something like that.
The downloaded area is under Cache Settings.
Useful.
Cant seem to download !!! No download option

I'd rather ask the question: why people don't explore apps anymore?
Cool now traffic added to 12 countries (incl. Poland)

Shame it's such a small area you can download though.

Stock TW "notetaker" .... REALLY

Is it me or is this thing complete garbage? And why, why would they add such garbage to a task bar you can't change????? I just don't get it. Maybe from the market I could understand but to include this as a feature app bundled with a what is supposed to be a top notch tablet.
Just blows me away! End rant..... "sigh"

That is all very great (I was really frustrated last night, so forgive my rant) but efficiently handwriting on that thing is impossible!
I tried using 3 different styluses and my finger, no way with either method could I walk into a house and take notes and room dimensions with any speed or accuracy.
calling it a note pad and taking out the option to handwrite would be a much better representation of the app.
The ablility to change to change the app to a better handwriting app would be that much better but that's kind of a different rant....

[Q] how can I paste something I copied with the s pen into Gmail?

I want to be able to copy something on my screen using the S Penn, you know like when you draw a circle around something and it copies to your clipboard. And then I want to paste it into my message my gmail app . This possible? Sorry for the poor grammar the voice to text is not working too well right now.

Just add an attachment to your email it should be saved under your screenshots

Haven't really tried it much yet but I press the s-pen button and hold it, circle the object and it copy's to clipboard in gallery under screenshots. I can find it in the gallery and when long pressing the image I can choose the messaging, gmail etc. icon and send it in text, or while in text I can tap the paperclip and find it in gallery.
Hope that makes sense and I didn't read your question wrong.
Happy Holidays
That helps, thanks for that. In gmail on the PC you can just do ctrl v while you are typing your message and it will show the image in the message Instead of down below as an attachment. Any way to do that? If not, no big deal.

Haven't had mine hooked up yet to the PC since mine is a dinosaur (PC that is!)
I doubt the N2 will allow you to do the same as on your PC, but if it can I'm sure someone will chime in. Still should show though as the actual pic instead of an attachment that you have to open on the N2
Peace!!

Thanks for this! I got the update through play store last evening. To be honest i'm not a huge fan of the new style, it seems very much like the iPhone version of google maps, which i'm not a fan of. I really dislike how the menu button doesn't do anything.
I went back to the old Google maps. Not a fan of the new one at all.

Blame Samsung for that one, Android phones shouldn't even have a menu button.
Is this not being updated automatically through the play store?
It is. Only if you didn't get it yet or what it early

Love the new look. Like how it gives alternate routes with time like Google Now
Like the new look, but HATE that they took some layer features out and also the traffic widgets! That sucks, so for now I'm not keeping the update. I had two traffic widgets. One for work and one for home. Really helpful for everyday I work. I know if I gotta bust A$$ and get moving or can take it easy and just go about my morning. Really hope they bring that back.

Giving it a go now. Didn't realize Gnow had a full page widget, but I still liked my lil traffic lights. One click and they showed green, yellow or red for traffic and the time it took. Pretttty easy to say the least. Giving it a try at least. Hope it works out. Thanks for the info!
