Best ROMS around? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey everyone. I'm using a (rooted) Motorola Droid Razr Maxx running android 4.1.2 (JB) and was wondering;
What is/are your favorite ROM(s) and why? Including Pros/cons thanks in advance!

I've tried a few ROMs for my xt912 on Verizon. They all have ups and downs. I'm currently trying Rage 2.8. It seems okay.
Cm10.1 is my favorite so far.
Pacman is a nice ROM and has lots of settings and customizations.
Liquid isn't too bad.
It all depends on what your preferences are. Just install safe strap and then follow install instructions and try out a few of them til you find your comfort zone.

Google Now

Check out HTC Sensation theme and app thread. Google now will work on RAZR ics .211. With exception of voice search. But its a start and looks awesome can't wait until its fully functional.

With the minor issue of non-working voice commands/recognition.. For now that is
Might be a dumb question since I'm new at this but can just install the apk for google now that was posted on the other thread and install it on my stock razr or do i need to root it first?

I just tried to install it but it didn't work. Do i need to be rooted?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
You need to be rooted, but Google just releases android 4.1 source, so a Jelly Bean build is in the works I'm sure. I would just be patient, it'll come soon enough

Yeah but we saw how long it took to get ICS ready for the razr. I doubt we get it before Christmas. You think with Google buying Motorola they would be the first to get anything after the nexus line of phones

Patrick, do you recommend a particular rooting program for the razr? I liked super-one-click that i used last time for my Droid Incredible

Bootmenu

Hey so i have looked and looked.use the search feature and used google.. Is there no guide to installing roms on the 2-init using bootmenu? I really want to get back into flashing roms but i do like the stock look and feel.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
Yeah, it's hard to find i guess
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29242699
For second system you need to toggle the second system recovery before you install the Rom.
The Guide to edit the Script for MiUi and CM9 is linked. For CM9 you need an patch, just read the Thread.
If you like Stock, then flash the Epsilon. It's an heavy tuned Stock Rom and it's prepared for second System. So you don't need to edit the Script, just clean your Webtop Partition once and flash.

Hey so another question is that i see all these gsm roms but im in a cdma market and cdma sim card.
Does it make a difference if it is one or the other? Or do both of them work all the same? 4g and everything?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
Never mind.. Answered my own question when i installed epsilon.. Gsm only ROM. Can't even turn on cdma

When you're running an CDMA Device, you should use Saftestrap!

Don't forget. BootMenu was made on CDMA device. (It's neither XT912 nor XT910)
The whole point of using bootmenu was that i don't have to disturb my stock ROM and can play with and eventually move to a custom rom when I'm comfy with the functionality

To Root or not To Root?

That is the question... what's the point other than being able to change the rom? And still haven't found one that runs like the original rom... as far as everything working correctly.

It will work fine for a while, but once you root you can run cache mate and keep your phone fresh like the day you got it. A lot of ROMs out there also have extra stuff built in to make your phone run smoother, but it kinda boils down to how much you want to nerd out and customize your phone.

Hey all, needing a little help.
I recently rooted my droid razr after updating to jelly bean. I want to start flashing some custom roms, but I can't find a cwm version compatible. Anyone have any info? Is TWRP good and is there a version for my 4.1.2 razr?

droid razr maxx xt912 4.1.2

hi! id like to unlock/root my phone. i tried the razr blade one and i had no luck
Have you given Matt's Utility a shot? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467 That will walk you through the root process and all. Not sure about unlocking.

i got it to work. thanks for all the help!!!! one more question i want to overclock the phone is their any recommended advice on what programs to use?
If you install CyanogenMod 11 (and possibly earlier versions) you can use the built-in performance settings.
