I need a new phone, im poor lol.. so my choices are a HD2 or a Xperia X10, I love android, and I wanna know if the ROMs on the HD2 are as good as any other ROM for a native Android device.
Or am I better off with the X10?...
Thank u guyz.
Oh and is it hard to install Android on the HD2?
Well got both an X10 and an HD2,
Got an Desire HD Android build on my HD2 and i find it as smooth as on the X10.
Tbh, as you don't need to be root on Android HD2, I find it easier to tweak and you got more answers on the web whatever you are searching for.
So my vote would go to the HD2 + Android, as smooth, better screen, easier to tweak, a better feedback and you can still use the native WM or alternative Rom.
As for the installation, you just need to copy any Android build you want to try on your
MicroSD device and launch this.
Should work perfectly. (Just had to flash my radio because of a robot voice issue)
I'd get an HD2 simply for the development factor, you can get more kernels, ROMs, and builds and fixes.
You also have your choice of any winmo ROM if you want as an added bonus.
Android on HD2 is on par with Android on the X10 IMO, I would much rather have my HD2
You guyz are bomb!!!

Hi, i have two questions for you, because i don't know what to do...
- the first one : Android 4.0 will be released for this phone ?
- the second one : is it possible to have an official version of Android gingerbread without Touchwiz for the galaxy S II ? ( i don't very like Touchwiz )
I ask you this questions because i don't know if it's better to wait the nexus prime, or to buy this phone... ( sorry for my english, i'm not very good )
Thank you !
1. Yes, probably
2. CM7 is already available, think of it as souped-up AOSP
If you can wait then go for the nexus prime, but there'll always be something better around the corner and the SGS2 is the best out there for the meanwhile
Ill probably be getting the samsung g note but I wonder will the nexus prime have a removable sd card.
thank you for your answers ! i think i will buy the galaxy ! but one last question : the CyanogenMod roms aren't stable yet ?

They're stable enough, as most users would agree, but there are other AOSP ROMs out there that are pure Android, without any CM stuff. It depends what you want, obviously, but if you're after pure Android (as on a Nexus, for example) then that's available and working very well.

Did you ever use and Android based phone before? Install different launcher and get rid of TW. Root your phone and delete samsung based apps with Root Uninstaller. That's it
if you don't like touchwiz you don't need to switch the rom, just search the market for a launcher that suits your liking and customize it to your preference.
i dont think touchwiz sucks that bad. but i wanted to have more control over how the app drawer sorts apps, so i downloaded go launcher ex (completely free) and i got what i want.

+1 I love TouchWiz 4.0. It's fast, smooth and looks awesome. In addition, I love using some of the widgets that are TouchWiz only. Also if you are a TouchWiz user, you can download an app called Appzorter to alphabetize your app drawer (only works on root though). I've tried other launchers and none of them seem to be as fluid as Touchwiz is.
personnaly, i think touchwiz is not very beautiful, the galaxy seems to be an old phone with that. i prefer the style of android, but it's my opinion.
Sounds like your comparing touchwiz 4 to touchwiz 3 in the galaxy i9000.
Touchwiz 4 is silky smooth compared to any other launcher and adds great functionality compared to an standard android device.

I'm a fan of pure Android too, but it obviously doesn't hurt to try all the alternatives out there. As I said ealier I use MIUI, but it's very much NOT pure Android, although built on an AOSP ROM. CM is also built from the ground up, and that's very popular. Your best bet is to just forget what you already know and try what's out there, because there are some great ROMs available. Just bear in mind that a lot of them are simply tweaked Samsung ROMs, and nothing "new" (no disrespect meant to the developers - purely an observation).
I hated the look of MIUI before I tried it because it looked like someone just wanted Android to look like the iPhone, but trying it really showed me how wrong it was. I just guess it's the same with all ROMs. Don't take anyone's word for it - try it for yourself.
I really like the MIUI interface, but the phones i owned always has some minor flaws.
For example the HD2 had volume setting problems, and now the Atrix still has some bugs as well...
So I am wondering, whats the best choice if you want to run MIUI? The Xiaomi phone seems cool, but i dont think its available in my country.
So... thoughts welcome! thanks!

... that's kinda tricky question.
Since you are not using a "stock/official" rom in your phone, it will likely show some bugs due not to be specifically designed for your phone as the manufacturer's one is.
Choosing a ROM/Phone combination is more or less a "trial/error" game.
MIUI official roms are good, but you should try the many customized versions available that most of the time includes fixes and mods for specific phones. Here on XDA you have the advantage of a more close communication with developers and the chance to get bugs/issues (or even on-demand features) quickly addressed.
As for your initial, question... i suggest going first for the "officially" supported phones on MIUI
(from MIUI main site)
Nexus One (N1)
HTC Desire (G7)
MOTO Milestone (MS)
HTC HD2
Desire HD
MIUI ROM For Nexus S
HTC Desire Z
Hope it helps on your choice
Have fun

One X is OK
it is In the course of evolution
Hi everyone ,
I want to buy a new phone in a few days, and I choose between One x and S3,I know thath there is a lot of topic like this but I searched and rly cant find anything thath will convince me to buy one x or s3,just to much similarities.
So ,How I see S3 is smoother and has better batery life ,I dont care for camera and microsd slot ****s,32 or 16gb enough for me.
I will root and install custom rom when I buy one of these,so I wanna know with custom rom on galaxy S3 and custom rom on ONE X what are difference then, cus I know thath on custom rom will be a lot of improvements on both phones.
One thing I prefer on one X is design.
Pls give me some benchmarks and good advices
Tnx in advance and sorry for my english
There's little point asking about this. The specs you'll be able to find online, as for custom roms, there's so many no one's gonna bother explaining everything.
HTC will have sense based roms, whereas Samsung will have touchwiz based roms. Both will have cm.

Hello everyone,
before you continue reading I want to excuse myself, for m not that good english. ^^
I have signed up here, because I want to get a ROM on my Desire X. The reason why I want to do that, is that I have done this already on my Xperia X10 MP, and it ran much better with the ROM, that was some years ago. Can I expect that in this case with my Desire X? That it will run better? It already laggs sometimes, not only in games, but when I switch from a appliaction to application for example WhatsApp to Chrome.
So lets come back to my question. Which ROM should I use? I want the smartphone to run smoother. Or even better.
I have found this here, and on the latest stable Version is Jelly Bean (Android 4.2.x). therefor I could or would use CM10 by fozzy_fozzy.
Can you recomend it ot are there better ones?
Thank you for Answers!
Have A Nice Day!
Thread closed,
Best rom threads are against forum ruled, as there is no best rom. Each rom works differently for each user. Best thing to do is to them for your self.
Many thanks,
