Google Now update showing unwanted navigation cards - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am constantly getting navigation cards (Estimated Time to Commute cards) that display addresses that appear in my web history. Just because I've looked up a specific address in my web history doesn't mean that I want a card to appear telling me the commute time to that address. I am currently house-hunting so I look upo dozens of addresses on a daily basis and have been getting tons of unwanted navigation cards. How do I stop this?!
I do want the cards to display for my commute to work in the morning and my commute home (based on my travel patterns) but I only want these cards to display for these 2 locations (home and work), not any other address I type in. I've only noticed this with the most recent update to Google Now. Seems to be an 'enhancement' that is anything but.

[Q] Bunch of questions

Hello
I'm sorry to ask all those questions in a single post, but I would otherwise have had to post in several forums. I'll be grateful if you can answer even some of those questions.
I'm very happy with my Samsung Google Nexus, but there are things I need:
1. Ad blocker: For web browsing, I generally use Dolphin, and use Chrome when I need to start an incognito tab. Are there ad blockers for those browsers to avoid those heavy web pages?
2. Since 3G uses more battery, is there a way to tell Android to switch back to 2G automatically after Xmn of no web browsing (2G seems good enough for the few times I use GPS)?
3. I'd like to have the following shortcuts on the screen:
- Switch to 3G or 2G
- Enable/disable Airplane mode
- Enable/disable wifi
I currently use the "2G-3G OnOff" application, but as the name implies, it only handles the first item.
4. Is it possible to change my MAC address as a work-around to those pesty public access points that limit users to 20mn? There are several utilies for Windows that do this, but is there one for Android?
5. Is there a way to tell Android to go through a proxy when browsing in 3G? The Proxy Settings application only works for wifi
6. Is there a way for the phone to vibrate when receiving text messages?
7. Can the ring volume rise or go down depending on the surrounding noise? When on the street, I often miss calls because I can't hear the phone even with its volume pumped up to the maximum... which I must remember to lower back to a reasonable level when going back inside.
8. When using my phone as a GPS receiver while biking around on week-ends, I'd like to switch off data mode to save battery: Does GPS require a data connection, or can it work offline?
9. I generally find Android's default calendar nice to use, but there are a couple of things that bother me:
- it can't be squeezed vertically, wasting a lot of screen real estate, and making it possible to see appointments below a certain hour: Is there a way to squeeze/inflate the calendar through multi-touching? Here's a screenshot.
- it always displays a "Attending?" question, even though I don't use a shared calendar (I do attend my own appointments): Can this section be removed? Here's a screenshot.
Thanks for any help.

[Q] More Google Sync issues

Google Apps on Android: (4.2.1 Cubot One) the saga continues.
Everything works fine using WiFi, but using cellco 3G data and everything BUT any google app (play, mail, maps) feels like it is firewalled 90% of the time. There are occasional bursts of function using 3G data, but only randomly. But at all times, WiFi works just fine and Google sync works immediately.
I gave up trying to get Vodafone to explain - they offered no help at all and I sensed a conspiracy of silence. Searching around for "android google maps error 403" produces a vast array of complaints about this issue that Google is simply not admitting to. But the sinister phrase "traffic shaping" occurs.
I assume there is an ever increasing biblical amount of data traffic going between google and any phone network these days. So are networks prioritising customers who are paying more?
In an effort to sort out the erratic google sync issue, there is much talk of deleting data and apps and reinstalling - but if it all works with WiFi - but does not when using 3G data, then I doubt if any amount of deleting and installing is going to address the fundamental issue which looks like "when is IP not IP?"
Are the Cellcos simply prioritising their big spenders and routing other cheapskate users to the nul device?

[Q] Cards on watchface positioned lower than before

I see cards are positioned lower than before, when they are on the watchface,(notification) especially whether and traffic cards.
It looks quite weird because the texts on the cards are almost on the edge of screen or even cut in the middle by the edge.
It happened after I sideloaded the new Google Play Services 6.1 on my phone, but I don't know it's because of the Google Play Services or not.
Anyone have the same issue or the solution?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 always at 80% RAM usage / Google Now problems

So, it's been bothering me for a while but my now 2-year-and-2-month old Samsung Galaxy S3 always just runs incredibly slowly. Not only that, but I tend to burn through the battery easily within 6 hours. For the past year and a half, or so, I've had to resort to carrying around two spare batteries with me as it has a tendency to run out of charge in the middle of the day, let alone if I'm out at a music festival or something. I'm not a particulaly heavy user, as in I rarely play video games on my phone, nor do I really watch videos or ever use bluetooth. Occasionally I do use GPS or WiFi, but I try to keep them turned off when I'm not using them. I tend to use my phone for music when I'm in the car, or texting / whatsapp / occasional snapchatting, or checking Pulse News or my internet banking. I don't have a particularly huge amount of apps installed, I don't think. And I regularly hold the Home button, & press the close-all-apps button to make sure that they're not running in the background.
Yet, my phone is so laggy. It's like there's a constant 3 or 5, or even sometimes 10, second delay for whatever action you've initiated to actually occur. You'll press Messages, and it'll take about 4 seconds for my text messages to show up. You'll press Home, and it takes about 3 seconds for it to close. Facebook just took about 8 seconds to load. It doesn't sound alot, but it can be quite infuriating when you're trying to get things done in a hurry. It's even worse when apps are running in the background!
So, I got to check my running processes and there's just loads of things running that both don't appear to be running when I hold the Home button but also shouldn't be running because I haven't used them in forever. It appears my phone has approximately 850MB of RAM, yet my phone tends to ALWAYS run at around 725MB used (currently it's at 751MB, as can be seen in the screenshot attached). But when I do go through the list of things running, the right hand side it tells you how much RAM is supposedly being used. Yet if I total up all of the RAM being used by all of the apps that are apparently running, it only comes to about 300MB. So where the heck is this other 450MB of RAM being used?! THIS is what is slowing down my phone, I think.
Not only that, but there are things in this list that are running that shouldn't be running, & I don't understand why they are. Facebook, sure I can understand, in case you get a notification or something. But TuneIn Radio... I'm not listening to the radio at the moment, nor have I used the app in weeks (and my phone has been restarted numerous times since then), why is it running? S Voice, too? Video Hub? Google Play Music, I've never even used it. And then there's loads of things I haven't got a clue what they are, like Exchange Services, ELM Agent, SmartcardService, etc. Now I understand it's like a computer, where there are a number of background processes that have to run to make the OS work, but why are all these other apps running that I'm not using?!
-------------------------
Furthermore, I've started trying to use Google Now because I would like to get a Moto 360 (but I'll ask questions about that in a seperate thread). So, it seemed to work fine a few weeks ago. It gave me stocks, news updates, ETA to work or home, started remembering where I was parking. But now a few days ago I go back to it, after not using it for a little while, & it's all reset; Asking me to set it up again. So I did, & it mostly works but I can only ever seem to get the first "page" of cards up. When I click "More" at the bottom I just get an endless spinning circle & then the message "No Internet Connection - Content was last updated X minutes ago" appears as the top card, when infact I know I do have an internet connection. Exiting the app, closing it down, & then re-opening does not fix the issue either. I'm at a complete loss as to what to do.
Furthermore, it always asks me to "Improve my location: For more accurate location, let google search for Wi-Fi connections, even when Wi-Fi is off." I don't understand how this works, and what it's trying to do? If I turn it on, is that not going to be effectively the same as leaving my WiFi turned on at all times? Well, except without the benefits of being connected via WiFi. It's just going to drain my battery more, as leaving WiFi on usually does.
-------------------------
So tldr:
- Why is my RAM mysteriously using 450MB that I can't vouch for? Where is it going? How I stop it?
- Why is Google Now not letting my manually update the cards?
You are missing huge amounts of very basic information, search and read for what is safe to disable on stock rom, some things are vital others are optional.
If you leave everything running as default then 6hrs battery life is about right.

GPS Issues after moving

Hi All,
Looking for some advice. I recently moved to a new city about 30mins away from where I was living. Since the move I've been having issues with all of my apps that use GPS. This includes Life360, Smartthings, and Webcore. I'll be sitting on the couch and suddenly I'm being marked as away. When I open any of these apps, they show I'm sitting at my old house. This is happening whether I'm connected to my WiFi, the neighbours WiFi or 3G/4G.
Steps I've tried:
-Factory reset on my router (read about routers storing location data and taking a month to reset)
-Changed routers to the one I use at my camp (an hour in the other directions
-Cleared Cache/Data, uninstalled and re-installed all apps using location
-Created brand new accounts with different e-mail addresses for these apps to rule out the possibility that it's in the app's cloud history
-Cleared data/cache for google maps
-Calibrated compass
I use these apps to detect presence and trigger my alarm on/off and turn off lights, lower heat, etc... It's been a pain having that happen while I'm sitting in the house. My wife moved with me and she's using the P20 pro and not experiencing any of these issues.
I've read many articles about resetting AGPS but I can't find anything mentioning that anywheres.
Any advice?
