Have you tryed dif sim. no network in dif phone mean prob no SIG on network ie sim dead.
?

Could be an issue with the carrier perhaps. Try contacting them.
If that doesnt work, try flashing a different modem.
If still no joy, do a factory reset.

When and how did that happen? Please provide more details, like if u recently changed ur sim, ur mobile fell or if u flashed a rom or did something like that...
And try removing both ur SIM and battery for a few minutes after turning off ur device, then put them back in... and switch on with a prayer..

when i flash ics 4.0.3 i got this problem

Imei number is NULL/NULL and no sim detection

I have the stock leaked jelly bean, Wanted to try a new mod of neatrom so I downloaded a recover mod from the website rootgalaxy s2 or so. Anyway, I am not under warranty, And my phone now doesn't detect SIM. I'm a total newbie and I don't even have an EFS back up. Is there any chance of getting back the calling or sim detection? It tells me Baseband undetected.
Do you have nandroid bk up? Do that will bring it bk.

Wifi and Bluetooth working, Mobile data needs a sim card which is not detectable.
The chances of you recovering it without a backup are close to zero (But not exactly zero). You'll be paying to have it fixed if you can't manage to fix it, but the worst that can happen if you try a bunch of things from here & they don't work is you'll still end up paying to have it fixed, so you might as well try them.

Can I go to a normal local technical service or I have to end up going to Samsung, will they fix this particular issue? Or they'll just ask for fees for a new motherboard.

True..
I had this issue the first time I updated to ICS via Kies. Didn't have an efs backup too!!
A trip to the service centre said my motherboard needed to be changed!
But I got back my IMEI when I reflashed the same firmware via Odin! Guess I was just lucky and that my efs folder was still intact...
Never trusted Kies ever since!

Problem was modding with another version of modems so it crashed.
What made me think it's not the efs was that the phone app crashes along with call setting and viber uses the music/sound speaker instead of the phone speakers, So I thought that it's a defect in the ROM.
Now, I can't find the stock toggle bar of jelly bean mods for me...
And I can't add a solved bracket, I will try again.

confusion rooting/unlocking first time (orange UK GT-I9100P)

Hi,
Recently bought SGS2 from orange (UK) I9100p locked.
I want to root and unlock my phone. read so many threads but didnt find proper steps because mine is a new build version.
So I am little scared and this is my first time android flash! (before I used to flash symbian phones).
here is my phone details.
GT-I9100P
android: 4.0.4
baseband: I9100PBVLPB
kernel:3.0.15-I9100PBVLPC-CL-1020445
build number:IMM76D.BVLPC
I came across so many tools which can root this phone.. like Odin,unlockroot,cf-root.etc.. but
which is the best & safe tool to root and unlock this phone.?
any guidance greatly appreciated..
Am not an owner of I9100P, but I did look up ur problem.
AFAIK, you can use two methods:
1. Using Philz rooted kernel. In the first post of his thread, he has included a kernel for I9100P (BVLPC build).
2. Use Method 1 of the Universal Rooting Method, which doesn't involve flashing any kernels.

---------- Post added at 07:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ----------
And I suggest you read both threads properly before you proceed, because that will avoid unnecessary confusion and errors. Also read through the first 10-20 posts also.
Good luck!

What you really mean is you want to sit back and let some mug tell you what to do and post links to save you the bother.
Your "new" model as you call it has had loads of posts about rooting, as I have read them.....so you can also.
Just read about philz or siyah kernel, and use which one caters for your phone, then see how to use recovery or odin to flash the same.
Start reading the q+a forum and see problems people have flashing stuff (I.e phone asking for sim/network lock) and hope you dont get the same.
Oh and welcome to forum......LOL

Erm......noticed you said you're running 4.0.4........do a forum search with the terms "brick bug" before you do ANYTHING else.....this may or may not affect you, but better to find out for sure before risking turning your phone into an expensive fancy paperweight.......

Thanks guys...
Thanks guys for the information.
Before i read your replies I tried with Siyah-s2-v5.0.1 kernel with Odin it got rooted successfully but was unable to unlock the phone!.
after rooting the phone boots up with yellow triangle. and I tried to unlock with "GalaxySim" and "galaxy_s_unlock" app, but both didnt work.
I even tried with root explorer and used hex editor to edit nv_data.bin file and replaced. still didn't work.
The links posted by @immortalneo has BVLPC build version of kernel.
So can I re root the kernel in this stage..?
what you guys suggest ?

You do not need to re-root if you are already rooted, right? Use Root Checker app from the Playstore to see if root was succesful.
If yes, use this app:

And now to get rid of the yellow triangle, flashing the stock firmware will do I guess!

chainfires are the most famous one, try "GalaxySim" and "galaxy_s_unlock" but some of them wont work on new devices.
if nothing works then try GalaxSim Unlock by spocky, u may have to pay a small ammount
yellow triangle at boot up indicates you are using unofficial kernel. you should be worried only when u take u r phone to service center,
because they don't accept if they see yellow triangle!

[Q] [Solved] rooted galaxy s2 and broken motherboard

hello,
today i bricked my SGS2, i have read similar problems and realize the solution might be replacing my motherboard.
i still have waranty...
my question, if they change my motherboard, will the flash counter back to 0?
will the know if my phone was rooted?
i'm affraid of voiding my warranty :crying:
please help me.
Ok.....so there are several different levels of "brick" (CMIIW)......
Bootloop.....recovery and download modes are both accessible and wiping cache and dalvic will fix the problem....
Softbrick 1....recovery and download modes are accessible, wiping cache and dalvic doesn't solve things but reflashing the ROM in recovery does......
Softbrick 2....Only download mode accessible....flashing a firmware via odin fixes the problem.....
Hardbrick 1.....neither recovery or download modes are accessible, but you still get the battery charging symbol appearing when you plug in your charger....a jig *might* get you into download mode to flash a firmware, a jtag *might* also help......
Hardbrick 2 (aka...call in the undertaker).....no recovery, no download, no signs of life even if the charger is plugged in....jig and jtag will NOT help.....mainboard replacement by Samsung the only option......
On that list....where are you? And what were you doing to the phone to cause it?. Also, what firmware/ROM were you on before it went "pear shaped"?.......

I hope u don't mind if I quote all that in some other post when needed.

If ur device is hard bricked totally, the people in the Service Centre would not be able to check ur binary counter! And so u can claim warranty.

i haven't tried jig an jtag, but there's no sign of life even if the charger is plugged in (completely dead)
i was using stok firmwire ics 4.0.4, and the problem occurred after i restoring backup using cwm recovery
i feel embarrassed i didn't read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756242 earlier.

Good morning, I have a problem with my samsung s2, min cell gets too hot when you start to fill in an application or a game, I read through some forums that changing the firmware will take away their problem, also take for service and showed no improvement.
I would like to help me with this problem, as the phone has one year warranty I think and no longer runs, in advance thank you very much.
What kind of software do you have right now?
Post a screenshot or tell us what u see in ur Settings - About Phone.

There's an overheating fix posted in the general section.
Still, you need to tell us, as it was requested abive, your device's info.

Its ok.. no need for that now..
its either pressing and holding the Power and Home keys together, or Volume Down and Power keys together.
