Nope, you're all good unless you want mods and custom roms, for this you'll have to root and install xrecovery.
So this is my current system:
Model Number: XT910
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: U_03.1C.78P
Kernel Version: 1.6.35.7-g24431a2 [email protected] #1
Build Number: ICS_Beta_MR1
(Gummy Project Mod 0.9)
I installed it via CWM.
I'm interested in installing this now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734893
(Epsilon Project v4 )
Can i just Nandroid my current setup, wipe dalvik and factory reset and install it via CWM too?
Or do i need to downgrade to a stock version of razor?
I'm a bit afraid to brick my phone...
Any help apreciated.

you dont need to downgrade, but to upgrade to an ICS stock version, your kernel is for GB and ICS kernel is needed, flash right fastbootfile for ics and your region
Okay so have stock Gingerbread on my phone, but I was wondering if there something newer I can put on my phone like the latest gingerbread or even ics

Hi all,
just found my old, beloved HTC Hero G2 in the Basement
Android 2.1 Update 1 seems to be installed.
Baseband: 63.1855.06Pu_6.35.15.11
Kernel: 2.6.29-7527f009
[email protected] #1
Build: 3.36.405.1 CL199109 release-keys
Software: 3.36.405.1
Browser: WebKit 3.1
Serial: HT97JL9xxxxx
It should also be rooted.
Which latest, stable and working Android CFW or Stock Rom Version is possible to put on?
KitKat maybe?
And where to get this?
Many Thanks in advance
Cheers
