Spellcheck - Sony Tablet S

I have an HTC One X which has a great keyboard and spellcheck. The one on my Sony tablet S os very poor in comparison. Is there any way to force the keyboard to correct misspelled words automatically? At the moment it comes up with suggestions, but that's about it.

Just don't make it learn from your gmail or facebook etc, cous it probably learn from your spelling mistakes to.

Swiftkey is the best. Glad i got it Theres also a test version of it!

Can we get the stock Gingerbread keyboard?

Having just ditched the Nexus S for this I'm left pretty disappointed with the keyboard input, especially when using prediction and typing with the qwerty.
The text entry box seems to jump all over as suggested words pop up and the completion / auto correction and general overall user friendliness of this keyboard is not a patch on the Nexus S.
Any maybe can install the Nexus S keyboard instead (stock android Gingerbread)?
I've had this in my archive of apps, try it and lemme know what you think. I'll have a look for a newer version tomorrow morning if you like this one.
clicky
You absolute star!!!!
That's fantastic, makes typing soooo much more pleasurable and IMO easier!
Thank you VERY much
If there is an updated version that would be interesting to try.
Thanks again bud!

Gingerbread Keyboard on Market.
Dickie
Hi all
Is there a compact qwerty version of this?
Love the phone but I'm pretty desperate to get a compact qwerty keyboard like the one on my Froyo HTC Desire. It's maybe a big finger thing but I really struggle with full qwerty.
Cheers

I used both ICS and JB keyboards but none supports swype typing on HTC flyer the way stock keyboard does. Further, funnily none keyboard provides number key line on top of regular text keys hence ICS/JB keyboards were useless without these two features. Why cannot these developers create option to use 7 inch screen to fullest by adding one more line so that users dont need to keep shifting for typing numbers.

Keyboard recommendations?

I've got a htc sensation which I rooted a while back, and have been using virtuous inquisition since then. Since that rom was sense based, I've been using the sense keyboard and liked how i could have it in a phone keypad layout. This one was modded too to have arrows for moving the cursor around which was great since tapping the screen in exactly the right place is a real pain in the arse.
Thing is I've now recently changed to cm10 which isn't sense based, so the sense keyboard has gone. The standard keyboard only has the full keyboard layout, so the buttons are too small for me.
Apparently you can't make the sense keyboard work with it, so I've tried go launcher's keyboard, multilang and a few other free ones, but none of them are perfect. Can anyone recommend a decent keyboard to me which will work as I want?
Perfect keyboard. First app I download when I flash a new rom, highly customizable.
SwiftKey. I believe it's still on sale, but there is a free trial.
Best keyboard ever.

+1 bought it, very nice, using it without correctionstuff, i´m an oldschoolwriter a lot of customizations as mentioned
Just tried perfect keyboard and yeah it seems nice. I've got my desired layout and cursors, and the dictionary works well enough to be used without fuss. Can I make it so that it doesn't suggest words longer than what I've typed? For example if I type aunt it suggests words more than four letters long, like cumulative. Any way of making it stick to the correct number of letters?

SwiftKey. I've been using it for a while, and even when I'm not typing English -with English being the only dictionary installed) it still offers me corrections (although they're not automatically selected, which is good).
It literally learns how you type.
Right, I've tried SwiftKey, a.i.type and jellybean keyboards and none of them appear to let me choose the layout that I want.
That perfect keyboard seems alright, but how can I stop it suggesting words longer than what I typed?

Yes. I have never used predictive text/spelling as I hate it so know naff all about it.
To be honest I think its a crap suggestion because the whole idea of predictive is to help you place long words by only typing a few letters so it will never work the way you want.
For me smart-keyboard is perfect. You can use ready made skins or create your own quite easyly.

Hackers keyboard when not on CM9.
Stock JB Keyboard or Swiftkey 3. ♥
Swift key works great once it learns how u type. Really saves me time.

nope its bad i like th look of the HTC keyboard and it works nicely.
for me the Samsung keyboards keys are too small UI for it is horrible most people i know with Samsung devices remove that keyboard as soon as they get it they usually go swype or swift key.
i would pay 2.99 to 4.99 for the blackberry 10 keyboard which is bastes on swift key prediction with blackberry's own code / prediction engine on it and the way we can flick up words on that keyboard means the bar with auto correction predictions is no longer taking up real-estate they should sell that keyboard its amazing on the Z10.
ah well stick with what i got thanks for the heads up on the HTC dependencies
Check keyboard thread in theming and apps and you might find something you like

Ampersand

I'm not sure if I've lost my mind or it's missing from the stock Sony keyboard but for the life of me I can't find the ampersand on the keyboard.
I found it but it's 3 keypresses deep to get to it. Thought I was going to like this keyboard but maybe not.
BTW my writing language is US English.
One of the most useful apps is SwiftKey. You too shall love it!
Put Hacker's keyboard, pretty cool like typingon acpc keyboard
