All i did was make a flashable zip

Thank you for this!

Much easier than fastbooting it, thanks for packaging it into a flashable zip.

Anyone know if 2.5.0.0 resolve the thermal issues with compression or not? I've tried searching around but it doesn't seem like anyone is talking about it anymore.
I suffered from this poorly documented bug, and after recovery with TeenyBin have been with CWM since. I like TWRP but I keep too much to not compress.

Updated to 2.6.0.0

Thanks for the update!

@Ilkinansr92 would you be awesome and bring us cwm5.0.3.2 sorry if its not on topic.. just that there's nobody else doing cwm and you seem to be the only one with the newest version for twrp.. so i tought.. what the heck why not ask for cwm too pretty plz

Thanks for the updated version. I moved to TWRP a long time ago and have loved it ever since. The encryption feature is a nice touch and will come in handy.

Link down...

Lgog is officially supported by twrp. The zip here is probably just that fastboot flashable file with the install script necessary for it to flash in recovery. Cwm likely requires finangling to make it work. You can download the image from twrp own website and fastboot flash it.

I do not use goo manager. Just flash it in recovery with this zip or do it the intended by google way and flash it in fastboot. It's easy.

this is a really small issue... but how come the splash screen at the start of twrp doesnt fully cover the screen :S... there is a black bar to the right...

Thank you much

@Ilkinansr92 Thanks for your flashable TWRP.
Added 2.6.1.0 to it. Flashed and working great on my LGOG AT&T. Thanks again @Ilkinansr92
Flashable 2.6.1.0 (credit to Ilkinansr92): http://www.mediafire.com/download/sc0scc8m1nci5z8/TWRP-2.6.1.zip

Im wondering if there is something the problem with the curtain in our recovery... Followed the holofied theme procedure to change the curtain.img and flashed the new image...
the curtain still stays to the small stock one :S... don't know what seems to be the issue...

No such problem with 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.6.1. Probably on your end or maybe whatever ROM you are using....
Did you unlock with freegee? Did you do as instructed in this thread? Not the holo instructions?

[Recovery] ClockworkMod Touch & Non-Touch v6.0.4.7 [LOKI-DOKI]

Hi All,
I've been a ClockworkMod Recovery user since I started with Android devices and never had a problem so I'm still happily using it today. The issue is that I can never seem to find a flashable version of the latest version so I'm making this post to provide that if anyone is interested. I'm using the loki-patch tool from djrbliss to patch the recovery image and then I create a flashable zip to install it. I wrote a little script that I run under Ubuntu to patch the recovery as well as create the zip package so keeping up with the latest recoveries should be simple. I've modified the way this flashes so that both the loki patch and loki flash tools are used which perform additional checks to make sure a valid bootloader base is being used. I re-used the loki-doki script from attn1 and modified it a little to do recoveries instead of bootloaders.
The flash process performs the following:
1. Extracts a boot image directly from the device, therefore much safer and more generic.
2. Using loki-patch, applies the loki patch to the CWM recovery image using the extracted boot image.
3. Using loki-flash, flashes the patched recovery image to the device. As per djrbliss, there are checks in the tool to avoid unsupported bootloaders so it's obviously much safer.
About the images:
- This is the latest touch and non-touch versions of ClockworkMod v6.0.4.7
- This is for the Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) only!
- This is for bootloader version I545VRUAMDK only!
- As with any other downloads here, flash at your own risk!
Installation:
- This is meant to install via recovery so just copy to your device, boot into recovery, and install from zip.
All thanks go to:
- djrbliss for his loki tools found here: https://github.com/djrbliss/loki
- The ClockworkMod Team who provides the recoveries here: https://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
- attn1 for his loki-doki install script found here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/41841-lo...tom-boot-image-on-att-and-verizon-galaxy-s-4/
.
I had been looking for the same thing for a few days. Made my own zip to get on 6.0.4.7
Thanks for doing this... Rom manager hasn't been working for me flashing, but I did just get pointed to flashify in another thread and that worked well.
Good to have options!

I tried 6.0.4.7 and it won't flash older update binaries... Philz version has the option to disable this issue and cwm 6.0.4.4 still works great for me...but 6.0.4.7 won't flash most of the touchwiz Roms available
Don't know why I quoted you...habit of quoted replies I guess...lol

I'd be curious - if you install flashify and flash the latest CWM with that, see if you have the same issue?
Or let me know what binary you're trying to flash and I'll test it as well.

Yes it would still persist...it uses only new updater scripts as tho old ones have been deemed "dangerous"
This is a good thread to have going for sure. I'm on Philz as well but this should help a lot of folks out. Good work

Official Team Win Recovery Updates 2.7.0.1 Lg AT&T Optimus G E970

TWRP 2.7
Introduction:
Team Win Recovery Project 2.7, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
What's new in 2.7.0.0:
Faster graphics rendering by disabling alpha blending on fully opaque objects thanks to Tassadar
Allow sideloading from /tmp on encrypted devices
Check for a crypto footer before asking for a password to prevent user confusion
Additional checks for validity to auto generated backup names
Text wrap in the console output
Proper caps lock support in the keyboard
Mouse support via USB OTG for devices with a broken digitizer
Improve scanning of storage locations for OpenRecoveryScript
Haptic feedback for buttons, keyboard, and vibration at the end of longer running actions
Fixed ext4 wiping when no selinux contexts are defined for that partition (e.g. sd-ext)
Update SuperSU to 1.93 and improve installation process
Added selinux contexts restoration to fix permissions
Load RTC offset on Qualcomm devices to fix the date/time in recovery
USB Mass Storage fixes Add SELinux support checking
Add Disk Usage class to better handle excluded folders (e.g. Google Music cache)
Add 4.4 AOSP decrypt support
Add some toolbox utilities to TWRP (namely to support SELinux functions not supported in busybox)
Various SELinux fixes and bug fixes
Note: 2.7 marks the first time that we are dropping support for older devices. We are doing this because of the SELinux support needed to install 4.4 Kit Kat ROMs. The non-TWRP parts of the recovery image have to be built in at least a 4.1 tree and the kernel that is included in the recovery image has to support writing SELinux contexts. We don't own most of the devices that we support so we depend on outside testers and developers to help us update devices. In many cases we can't find someone readily. Come to #twrp on Freenode if you want to help bring your device up to date. You can tell right away if your device will support 4.4 ROMs in 2.7. Boot TWRP and press the console button (the square-ish button either in the bottom middle or upper right) to view the console output. If it doesn't say "Full SELinux support" in the console, then your device still needs some work. Help us help you.
DOWNLOAD: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/geeb
Download the above file. Turn off your device. Turn on the device while holding volume down until the boot screen shows up. The device will now be in fastboot mode. Plug the device into your computer. If you have the right drivers installed you will be able to use fastboot. Run the following command via the command line:
fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img
Note that you will need to change the last part to match the name of the file that you just downloaded. You will also need adb and fastboot for your computer.

Since it doesn't say "Full SELinux support" in the console, my interpretation is that this will not support 4.4 ROMs. This seems to be proven out by the previous posts having to revert. Has anyone gotten this to work?

You probably need it modified so it can flash KitKat ROMs.
Install recovery, make full wipe and recovery needless to reboot to recovery, wtf?)

How do we modify it for ours? I would really like for this to work because I like the updated UI.
Forgot, I'm using the flashable zip not the img.
So does the latest version 2.7.0.1 work for flashing kitkat ROMs? Or still no luck.

problems installing
Hi, TWRP team,
I am encountering problems in installing the 2.7.0.1 I am currently on the 2.6.3 version, and trying to get the latest to install, but even after using many different tools: Rom toolbox, flasher, etc, ( except adb / flashing), am not able to get the img file installed as recovery.
As a last resort, I will try out the flashing technique, but just wondering why the built in tools listed above fail.
I am also eager to know of the stability of the latest TWRP vis-a-vis the earlier backups from 2.6.3 versions.
cheers

I could get the 2.7.0.1 to install, and work for backup, however, when it comes to installing an update zip file, it fails to no avail.
I reverted back to 2.6.0.3 after several unsuccessful attempts.
hope others also share their experience. Let us wait for the stable version for e970 till then.

Which rom were you running when you rebooted into recovery?
Stock, so CM11s.
mine still is not good. i treid to reboot to get it to hold the no hardware buttons. didn't reboot. tried about 10 times. eventually booted intot this new recovery and reflashed rom and booted it up. it's a bloody weird looking boot- no boot animation- made me think it was screwed again.
did you have to do anything to get it working again? Wipe entire device or just data partition?
Working good here, but I had no issues with the official build. I have an international version, 64GB OPO.
It's nice to see some additional features added, though.
Just helping out, packaged in a flashable zip for those with current CWM or TWRP recoveries, tested and working, enjoy everyone.
Flashed with the zip in the post above, worked flawlessly, was able to backup my EFS partition which is what I was looking to do. Thanks!

Guys i wonder when you press efs restore is it
fastboot format modemst1 & st2
or
fastboot erase modemst1 & st2
or may be both? in that case in what order?
I flashed the one in OP, but the system does not see any partition ?
Can I flash 15th without bricking the phone
[EDIT] I tried a second time, and now it´s ok, partitions are there and backup is currently running
Any chance at adding F2FS support direct for this recovery for the ONE Plus?

Question - now I ask this to see how you may do this and possibly help others from waiting for a zip. Now are you simply renaming the image file from TWRP to recovery.img and placing it inside an already created zip file for flashing. A zip file that of course was created for an earlier version of TWRP lets say

[RECOVERY] [SM-G7105 LTE] [ms01lte] [Test build] TWRP 3.0.0 Touch recovery

Team Win Recovery Project 3.0.0.x ONLY For MS01LTE SM-G7105
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Phone look:
TWRP 3.0.0-0 is out now for all currently supported devices.
What’s new in 3.0.0-0:
Completely new theme - Much more modern and much nicer looking (by z31s1g)
True Terminal Emulator - Includes arrow keys, tab and tab completion, etc. (by _that)
Language translation - It won’t be perfect and especially some languages that require large font files like Chinese & Japanese won’t be availble on most devices. Also some languages may only be partially translated at this time. Feel free to submit more translations to OmniROM’s Gerrit. (mostly by Dees_Troy)
Flashing of sparse images - On select devices you will be able to flash some parts of factory images via the TWRP GUI (by HashBang173)
Adopted storage support for select devices - TWRP can now decrypt adopted storage partitions from Marshmallow
Reworked graphics to bring us more up to date with AOSP - includes support for adf and drm graphics (by Dees_Troy)
SuperSU prompt will no longer display if a Marshmallow ROM is installed
Update exfat, exfat fuse, dosfstools (by mdmower)
Update AOSP base to 6.0
A huge laundry list of other minor fixes and tweaks
WARNING: This is our first release in a long time. We have a lot of new and somewhat aggressive changes in this new release. The changes to the graphics back-end may cause some devices to not boot up properly or have other display-related issues. If you are not in a position to reflash an older build of TWRP, then wait until you are or at least wait until others have tried the new version for your specific device. You don’t want to end up with a non-working recovery and have to wait several hours or days to get to a computer to be able to fix it.
Notes for themers: In addition to the udpated theme, we have introduced a theme version variable to the TWRP theme system. If the theme version does not match the version that TWRP expects, TWRP will reject the custom theme and load its stock theme. This change will ensure that people who update TWRP without updating their theme will still have a workable recovery. We have removed libjpeg support. The stock theme was only using a jpeg image for the splash / curtain. This change means that any custom themes will no longer be able to use jpeg images. It also means that tools used to repack recovery images with a different curtain / splash will need to be updated to use the new method.
Version number notes: For a while we’ve been using a 4 digit version number and reserved the 4th digit for device-specific updates. For instance, we find and fix a device-specific issue like decryption of data on Nexus 5, we would release that as a 2.8.7.1. After a while, some people would start asking where 2.8.7.1 was for other devices. So, going forward we have decided to change the numbering scheme to 3.0.0-2, etc. Our hope is that this version numbering scheme will more clearly identify that the 4th digit does not indicate a version change for the code base.
Note: As always, be sure your custom theme is up to date (or remove your custom theme) before updating TWRP.
System read only option: Devices that ship with 5.0 and higher as their initial OS are using block level OTA updates. With this style of OTA update, the update script checks to see if the system partition has ever been mounted read/write. Further, the script also usually runs an SHA sum of the entire system partition to detect if any changes have been made. If any changes have been made, the OTA update will refuse to install. Since not all OEMs and devices have factory images available, we have created a new feature in TWRP that detects if the system partition has ever been mounted read/write. If not, you will be prompted asking if you want TWRP to mount system as read/write. If you choose not to allow TWRP to mount as read/write, TWRP won’t prompt to install SuperSU and TWRP won’t try to patch the stock ROM to prevent TWRP from being replaced by stock recovery. The goal of this option is to hopefully allow the user to make a raw system image backup that they can use to get back to a state where they can take OTA updates again.
resize2fs feature: On some devices like the Nexus 6, the factory images include a userdata image that is the proper size only for the 32GB units. If you flash the factory image to a 64GB Nexus 6, the data partition will appear as if it only has the free space of a 32GB device. Using the resize2fs option, TWRP can resize your data partition to take up the full space available. The resize2fs may also be useful to resize system partitions on devices where custom ROM system images don’t take up the full partition space. Lastly, resize2fs may be useful in some cases to reserve the proper space at the end of a data partition for a full disk encryption key, should your partition be formatted incorrectly for some reason.

Hi guys.
Been trying for 3 days now to install this recovery on my Galaxy Grand 2 SM-7105, but to no avail. Here's what I did:
1- Using Odin I root the device using "CF-Auto-Root-ms01lte-ms01ltexx-smg7105" . I got PASS in Odin, (is this an indicator that the root is successful? Because if I entered Android after that, it seems unrooted).
2- Then after rooting (I understand that I can't install the recovery without root first), and without rebooting OR after rebooting the device, I run Odin again, and in download mode I flash the TWRP 3.0.0 recovery.
3- Disconnect USB cable, remove battery, then boot into recovery, but I keep getting the message:
Could not do normal boot .
Odin mode
Current Binary: custom
System status: custom
No matter how many times I tried and how many method and Odin versions I used, the same result.
What could be wrong? How can I be sure that it is a problem in the installation of the root, and not in the installation of the recovery, or vice versa?
Appreciate your feedback !

Hi guys.
Been trying for 3 days now to install this recovery on my Galaxy Grand 2 SM-7105, but to no avail. Here's what I did:
1- Using Odin I flashed root rom "CF-Auto-Root-ms01lte-ms01ltexx-smg7105" . I got PASS in Odin, (is this an indicator that the root is successful? Because if I entered Android after that, it seems unrooted).
2- Without rebooting OR after rebooting the device, I run Odin again, and in download mode I flash the TWRP recover.
3- Disconnect USB cable, remove battery, then boot into recovery, but I keep getting the message:
Could not do normal boot .

Thanks man. But that's actually the TWRP recovery I've been trying to flash, and that's what i mentioned.
If you were referring to the "CF-Auto-Root-ms01lte-ms01ltexx-smg7105" , my understanding is that that's not the recovery, but the root rom, which I must flash first before the TWRP 3.00 recovery.
No ?

No not Kitkat, Jelly Bean (4.3).
And sorry not sure I understood your last sentence. I can only access the stock recovery. So what do you mean by "flash update supersu", and how does that help ?

Well, the author of this post (who posted the WTRP) didn't say one must have Kitkat before flashing this recovery. So are you sure of it?
Also, can I flash Kitkat via Odin if the phone is not rooted?
If yes, where can I get the kitkat for this phone ?

Thank you. Unfortunately there are no updates, says "your device has the latest updated" !
It seems my cell provider decided they don't want to upgrade it.

[RECOVERY] [12] [OFFICIAL] TeamWin Recovery Project

Introduction:
Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Key Features:
Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
Onscreen keyboard
Easy selection of internal/external storage
In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe, and run a backup.
We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

If you have made your own TWRP build for an unsupported device, please let us know. We might add your build to the list of unofficial builds. Bear in mind that we are working hard to add more devices and we may add your device to our official build list later.
Hello, this is TWRP, for Oneplus 7/Pro/5G that supports Android 11
can be flashed to boot with working decryption on android 11 roms
bugs:
backup/restore is unreliable
Installation:
1. fastboot boot twrp.img
2. go to Advanced > Flash Current TWRP
3. after that is done, if you were using a custom kernel, reflash it now
4. if you were using magisk, reflash it now
Updating to a newer build:
1. download new build to internal storage
2. go to Advanced > Install Recovery Ramdisk
4. select the new image
5. after that is done, if you were using a custom kernel, reflash it now
6. if you were using magisk, reflash it now

Read the Installation instructions, there's a new experimental feature replacing the need for zips.
Nice, at least no more torturing my poor 7Pro with test images, haha.
Thanks.
And yes, the new feature is neat and works here pretty well.
Good job, @Nebrassy !
It says a11 ROMs can be decrypted is oos 11 also included in that ?

I'm using HavocOS 4.5 based on OOS 11 and managed to decrypt data partition just fine.
I can confirm it's working on OP7 with OB4 / Android 11.
Many thanks for the great job!
Uploaded new build with f2fs support

No, I rebooted to bootloader mode, ran sudo fastboot boot filename.img and TWRP splash screen appeared, asking for password. I entered my password and that's it, data partition was decrypted. I finally rebooted to system.
@Nebrassy
Thanks for the great work btw. Appreciated.
This work with stock oos11 encrypted?
Can somebody elaborate this?
1. fastboot boot twrp.img (Which twrp is this? The one shared here?)
2. go to Advanced > Flash Current TWRP (What does current TWRP mean? Official TWRP? and where is that advanced? Advanced in new TWRP?)
