I have an LG Esteem running Android 2.3.4.
I went to change my ringtone went into settings, ringtones and get
the following message.
The application settings (process.com.android.settings) has stopped
unexpectedly. Please try again.
then force close.
I HAVE SEARCHED this forum for over 3 hours now to find a solution
but, to no avail.
If anyone has had this problem or know how to get it fixed Please Help!
My phone is rooted and I am using Backup Pro to backup all my apps and
data because all I've found is lots of people saying to do a factory reset.
This is not an ideal solution since everything works but, being able to
get into ringtones....even notification work......
Again, if anyone can help me that would be great!

My galaxy tab 10.1 gt p7510 (wifi only) recently crashed for no apparent reason.
After trawling the internet and trying various things (not very experienced in android world!) I managed to root my tab with tabrooteasy and get back in. Now I receive the error message process com.android.phone (?!) has stopped unexpectedly - does this mean I have installed the wrong version samsung-galaxy-tab-10.1-root? is it because I haven't intalled rom manager? Any advice would be great. thanks

if its wi fi only, it shouldnt have the phone app anyways. Is it possible you flashed the wrong zip?

Guys,
I fixed this issue by removing google, facebook and samsung sync
first sync your accounts and make sure all contacts are updated in the google, facebook and samsung,
go to settings, accounts and sync and select your google, facebook and samsung accounts and remove them.
add the accounts again and your problem will be fixed.

I'm getting kind of desperate for a solution...I've just flashed ViperS for HTC Sensation coming from CM9.
Initially after installing I got the "process com.android.acore has stopped" as well as the "process com.android.phone has stopped". After searching around I found that clearing the data from the contacts app resolved the "acore" issue. But the "phone" issue still persists.
It keeps saying "preparing simcard" and then the error...never ending.
Any solutions flying around out there?

Since two or three days, my S3 has been freezing every few minutes.
I restored factory settings and installed latest italian original firmware without root or anything.
I powered it up and, after having logged in to Google during the initial setup, my Phone freezes.
I thought it was a hardware problem, but, after trying and trying, I discovered that if I toggle off Syncing, everything works fine.
Any idea?
I am going to try a custom rom, because I cannot really understand the problem.
My stock is: I9300XXEMA2_I9300ITVEMA1_ITV

did you try to switch off certain parts that are synced (e.g. contacts, calendar etc.) to isolate the problem?
Yes, it could be caused by Picasa... but not sure at all

well try to deactivate only Picasa and see, maybe it tries to sync all pictures and you got too many to bear?

Try clearing Google services framework data, and all Google app data, or remove Google account and wipe cache/dalvik then add account again

I've got the exact problem, but since I turned sync off (by the pulling-down menu) my SGS3 has managed to stay on for an hour without freezing. The very minute I turn sync on, it freezes again, and it does'nt matter what I'm doing at that moment, if I'm browsing the internet och just flipping around in the settings or using the Play store.
Samsung says they havn't heard of this before..
Have you tried the custom ROM?
Here is how solved.
I added the google account. I pressed "cancel" while it was syncing.
Then I deactivated Sync with Picasa and Google+ Photo.
Moreover I clicked "Settings -> Apps -> All Apps -> Gallery -> Clear Data".
In my gallery, now, I only see Camera Photos... everything is working fine.
Let me know if it works for you.
P.S. Custom ROMS I tried did not have this problem.

I need your help guys, I did a stupid mistake :silly: by Clearing "Google Services Framework" version 4.1.2-529230 both Clear Data and Cache.
I dont know i hav to clear both or not but i did unfortunately. Now i cant install any App from Google play and neither Update any App.

Hello everybody
So,I've installed kitkat 4.4.2 on Friday and everything was really ok. Today I realized when someone is calling me on Viber,there are no contacts,the same is with WhatsApp.
And when I want to use my phone contacts,they are all gone. Then I need to copy the contacts from the sd card(cause there is no option to show contacts from sim card) and they showed up,when I click on Viber again,the contacts are gone again.
Anyone can help me with that???

Hi Guys ,
I was in Germany. I updated my i9300 Galaxy S3 there. Then I came back to Turkey and I wanted to open my Mobile data but it didn't work. I tried all APN settings , Plane mode off-on and more. I can get notifications from Whatsapp and I can send messages but when I want to open my browser or login Facebook,Twitter,Instagram it didn't work. I looked all the threads but no solution.
Please help me Thanks.

Edit: I solved the issue by deleting the other apns. I have only the one that I need now.
