My Galaxy SIII i9300 stuck on initial Logo.
***Since march 19 was the last time that I install the FoxHound Custom ROM But NEVER has fault, Today when an incoming SMS to the smartphone it restarts and stuck on initial logo.

I can enter on recovery mode but I think that I have a problem here, because in the recovery says that:
And when I try to do anything in the recovery the smartphone restarts automatically and don´t do anything, and when I can install another custom ROM from ext-SDcard all goes good, but when I restart it stuck on initial logo again.
I flash with Odin
(Odin3 v1.85 y Odin3 v3.04)
2 officials firmwares from "samfirmware.com"
and also the: CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar
and the CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5
and the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4
and none of it worked, all give me the same error.
The kies doesn´t detects it....
(I close all the kies process when I use odin....)
Any suggestion?
Obviously it lost the warranty because the flash counter says 2 and I can not delete it because it does not start :S
Other info:
Last ROM: Foxhound 2.4
Kernel: Siyah
Recovery: Siyah

Did you try flashing philz recovery, then going into mounts and storage and formatting all partitions, after that flash a stock rom with odin

Yes I try to flash Philz recovery and the recovery says it´s successfull the installation but doesn´t work, when I try to format anythig I got this error on recovery:
"E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p8"

Exactly so.....you can have no screen or anything at all, or you can have no recovery but d/l mode still shows (worst case scenario)
Try flashing pit files with repartition ticked,to reformat partitions and then flash a Sammy stock rom(not deodexed or with root).worked on gs2 and should work on gs3 too..

Wipe it and then install rom from odin and after install wipe again
Thanks ... now the sun is starting to shine again.
Just some questions.
1) How do I wipe it out ... there is no option in Odin
2) Which ROM should I take:
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPG-v5.5-CWM5.tar
Kernel_I9100XWLPG.tar.md5
My S2 was I9100XWLPG befor it died.
It never died!
Learn how to use Odin
Get stock rom from www.sammobile.com
Or use checkfus down loader.

this is not a rom its a kernel thats why you cant boot up after flashing
Thanks guys ... here is what I did:
1) Booted S2 into recovery mode.
2) Chose wipe data / factory reset
3) Auto rebooted
4) Booted into download mode
5) started Odin 1.85 (tried also 3.04, same result)
6) for PDA I took CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPG-v5.5-CWM5.tar which worked fine before I messed up
7) Odin went OK telling me kernel loaded & passed
8) now when I power on I only get Samsung logo and it powers off
So where did I go wrong ?
Should I use Heimdall instead of Odin ?
If i am not wrong you are flashing kernel not the whole rom.Remember till the time download mode is accessible your s2 is alive.Dont panic and mess up more.Just download a stock rom from sammobile and flash using odin.

If you were able to get into recovery just flash a rom. You don't have to go as far as a stock Rom if you don't want to. In download mode flash a recovery with Odin and then boot up into the recovery and flash the rom you want. That's it

I have a problem to see the difference between a ROM and kernel when it comes to file names.
That's why I flashed the kernel in stead of the ROM ...
In 'sammobile' I can't find a ROM corresponding to I9100 XWLPG.
So where do I find the stock ROM for S2 I9100 XWLPG

Good to hear that the proper solution to your problem is being done. I had mine in an boot loop, while testing various roms. It wouldn't go pass the boot animation, just kept loading it over and over again. Then I did an "wipe data" and reinstalled rom and voila, my problem was solved as well
Yup all is not lost until download mode is lost.
Once got scared on kernel panic mode but reflashed and BAM

Hello Gentlemen,
Last time I managed to root my device Samsun galaxy S III (GT-I9300) via CF-Root 6.4 and it was successfully rooted,
This was the last time it has been rooted, afterwards, I upgraded and flashed a Jelly Bean 4.1.1 via Odin and found out that Root has GONE !!!
That's okay, but the most amazing problem is, the device does never get rooted no matter how many times I try to root it via the same method mentioned above (CF-Root 6.4),
I though afterwards that this is because CF-Root needs to be updated or something, so I reverted back to ICS 4.0.4 by flashing a stock md5 ROM over.
I tried the CF-Root 6.4 and found out it does not work anymore, please help me gentlemen as I spent the last night trial & error, never succeeded.
I am doing all of this just because I want to flash the HD 14 Android Revolution ROM made by Mike here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334
I hope there was an md5 or tar file (Odin flashable) so that it could be much easier to flash for people who are stuck with this situation.
can you post the exact file name you are trying to use to root

Can you see the su app? If not try installing it
similar problem
Hi, Im having a similar problem, I was rooted, upgraded to 4.1.1 through kies and it was rooted no more. I rooted it again and no problem. I tried a custom rom and it had an issue with wifi so I went back to stock. Now Ive loaded the stock back on and after wiping/factory reset and clear cache it still says Im running a custom binary, system status is custom also, so trying to root it again so I can reset the flash counter and load my backup but it keeps getting stuck on set up connection on odin and eventually fails.
Ive been at this all afternooon with out much luck, can anyone provide me with some guidance on this?

I can't see anything like SU or CWM or anything else, besides, I use root checker and it tells me that I am not rooted yet.
Any idea why this is happening?
Also I noticed that upgrading to Jelly Bean changes the SDCard name to Sdcard0
After flashing CF-Root with Odin, your phone should restart in custom recovery to install SuperSU and CWM app
If it's not, try that:
-Flash CF-Root with "auto-reboot" disabled in Odin
-once flash is done, unplug your phone from the computer
-restart in recovery with VolUp+Power+Home
It should trigger the apps installation process

I finally got it to flash the .tar file in odin, in odin I unpluged the phone after hitting start ( it was just in SetUpConnection doing nothing ) and when I plugged in straight away it started doing its thing. However it didnt go through and load the SU etc. So I did it over again using the above method and it worked:good:. So thanks to you Mopral!!

first, sorry if my english is bad..
yesterday, i rooted my samsung galaxy SIII GT-I9300 (first time root for this device), then flashed custom ROM (Android Revolution HD 27) and custom kernel (perseus) for i9300. I also use Android Revolution HD for my note 2 N7100 and works fine. then today, I tried to use swapper apk (the apk named swapper 2, it's available in playstore). oh and I already partitioned my external memcard using minipartition tool (sandisk 16gb class 10: 14gb+ FAT32 set as primary and 350mb LinuxSwap set as primary). after that, i configured swapper 2 as in this guide

but at the last screen, at the fifth line "enabling swap (partition) OK" I got FAIL instead of OK.
so I left the device (at the home screen), and was searching for another MOD for SIII. then, I got to see on the screen is samsung logo GT-I9300 (the device reboot itself) and getting reboot, get to the logo, reboot again, and again..
so... I was search for the solution in this forum, which made me try this following method:
1) get into download mode, flash stock rom Android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMC3 for Galaxy S3 I9300 (got from here) ------ flashing with odin (tick only Auto-Reboot and F.Reset Time)
Result: still get the bootloop
2) use method 1, and going to recovery mode, wipe factory and wipe cache, reboot
Result: still get the bootloop
3) try method 1 and 2, but when flashing using odin (tick Auto-Reboot, F-Reset Time, and Nand Erase All)
Result: still get the bootloop
4) get into download mode, directly flash Philz touch recovery, reboot into recovery, wipe factory, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, run zoot's wipe script (tried this method twice, one with Mega Wipe, and second with Factory Wipe), then directly flash Android Revolution ROM zip
Result: still get the bootloop
Is this condition named softbrick or hardbrick? in addition, I read in Q&A forum someone said if in download mode the phone model doesn't show up, that means the motherboard got damaged. but I checked at my device, and all the information including phone model is correct and the same condition with before this problem happened.
So.. here I kind of give up already.. is there any working solution into this? thanks for reading and willing to help me if you know the solution

try remove your memory card.
after a nand erase, you need a motherboard replacement
@JJEgan

sorry, are you sure sir? because I did that by following some thread in xda forum, that said using with 'tick nand erase all' and after that flashing bootchain files + stock rom and pit file will fix the problems..
Internal ram memory nand is setup at the factory . Partitions for system data etc .
You have wiped it all .
Once again the link you refer to is not for this phone . I suggest you ask in that forum / thread any questions about that method .
Or search for NAND posts in this forum if you want to read more .
A few users have done the same .

I've search for nand posts inside and outside of xda.. it seems like the solution is only jtag repair, which is I already sent the device to some repair centre yesterday.. they said about using some kind of test points, that is jtag repair, maybe? I hope my i9300 can be boot again >.<
anyway thanks for replying to this thread.. I'll post about the result when it's done
I'm terribly sorry is this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm new to the whole 'forums' in general thing.
A while ago, a friend came to me and said his android was growing buggy, so I told him how to factory reset it and such. Then I rooted it for him to clear it of any stock apps he didn't want. Now I've currently got the device next to me, and I've tried installing a custom rom onto it for him, to help make his device a bit faster and less buggy. I tried installing PAC-ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235446 ), but I got the same error in CWM that I got when I tried to flash my HTC Glacier, which was remedied by updating to the latest CWM. I tried updating CWM from its current 5.0.2.7 to something 6.0+, but the 5.0 version sticks, which might be due to the fact that I used ODIN to flash the CWM according to a different XDA forum, which I cannot locate right now. Now, after attempting to flash PAC-ROM, and getting said errors, I seem to be unable to remount anything from CWM (/system, /data, etc), so the device cannot boot.
Is the device bricked for good, or is there something that can help me? I'm not totally inexperienced with flashing/customizing android, but I'm not great at it either.
Thanks for the help in advanced.
uhhh, what exactly did you flash to upgrade CWM? Did you use something for another device? Because you arent supposed to do that.
I would reboot into download mode, and then flash the stock firmware. Then you can flash a either RJ's kernel (for INTL) or Entropy's kernel (US) depending on what device you have. To flash PAC, you have to first flash a cm9 rom, reboot into recovery, and then flash PAC

I did, it gave me the 'error can't mount /system, /data, etcetc' thing, and then rebooted, and now it's stuck in CWM.
you probably need to find the pit file and flash that via odin. just keep holding the power and volume down keys until you are in recovery. then put the pit file in odin along with the stock firmware and flash.

After trying a few more times, I end up with the same screen as I posted before, the android recovery screen.
try downloading and extracting this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=812772&d=1323614740
this contains odin version 1.81, which has always worked for me.

That PIT file is invalid. It has never worked and never will. If you need the pit file then get it from Adam Outler's post that has all the PIT files for the all players 5.0.
I didn't know what I was doing when I made it. I just dumped the partition that has the pit file on it and that is what that is. NO ONE SHOULD EVER USE ueki8.pit FROM YP-G70_UEKI8_MIN !!!

Even after flashing using that, it still returns me to either the download screen, or the recovery screen.
Now the devices is stuck in a state where it won't exit download mode.

Try uninstalling the Samsung drivers and Kies. Try to find the Samsung device and replacing/installing all drivers.

After all that, I still get the screen showed in my previous comment,
Hi i was hoping someone could help me fix my SM-G925F device. I will give you abit of information of how im in the situation going back to about a year ago i got a firmware update on my samsung galaxy s6 edge so i started downloading it and my device rebooted and said it was installing the update but halfway through it must of corrupted or failed but my device still booted up and when i went into my settings it said i was on android version 7.0 so thought nothing of it but did start having a few minor issues now and then but anyway on sunday i was playing a game on my phone and it randomly just froze so i waited 2 mins and then it seemed to be working again but then 5 mins later it did it again and i waited around 10 mins and it was still frozen so i had a look on google and it showed me a button combination you can do to restart your device if it does freeze but after it tried rebooting it would just sit on the s6 edge logo screen so i tired looking online again and it told me to go into recovery mode which i did and it showed a little error at the bottom left corner saying "dm-verity error" but i still tried clearing my cache partition but when i rebooted the phone it was still stuck on the s6 edge logo. I decided to reflash my device with a stock rom from sammobile but it failed at system.img and when i try booting my phone i get a error saying "An error has occured while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart PC software" so i tried flashing a custom recovery named "TWRP" but that also failed so now when i go into dowload mode by holding down the down volume + home + power buttons and press volume up to enter dowload mode in the top left corner it says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G925F
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
Secure Dowload: Enabled
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x0200)
AP SWREV: B:6 K:2 S:2
I have tried different stock roms that match my device model but now odin fails on boot.img or just stays on initialization
An easy way is to just flash TWRP and flash a custom ROM they have may that are stock flavours with improvements. also, check for a dm-verity flash file for TWRP
It wont let me flash anything using odin anymore to flash a custom recovery. Odin recognizes my device but wont flash anything like the progress bar under dowloading... doesnt even show up anymore. The only thing i can think of is taking it to a samsung engineer facility but i bet they charge loads

Well, your only option now is let it boot loop and run out of power give it a little charge and see if it will flash TWRP for your device, small chance your internal flash drive is fried or the critical portion of the flash drive is corrupted.

In TWRP never reboot straight away you need to install some files.
Download Odin: https://odindownload.com/
Download TWRP, make sure to select the correct Samsung device: https://twrp.me/Devices/Samsung/
Download Magisk, https://******************/#How_to_Install_Magisk_Latest_Version_201_on_Android_Non-Rooted_Phones
Download RMM-State-Bypass, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UvqcYUbVTFomAmKCVkMyfTWeuz1sEz8n/view
Download Disable_Dm_Verity_ForceEncrypt, https://zackptg5.com/android.php#disverfe
Download a custom ROM(H-ROM & Lineage work with TWRP)) but make sure it is for your specific Samsung Galaxy device, https://forum.xda-developers.com/
It literally doesn't let me flash anything anymore odin loads the tar file then when i press start it sets up the connection and the just stays on instilization and i have left it for over 2 hours before and it was still on that same bit.

Well, there is hope since custom binary is not a big problem. K check out the options menu tick F.Reset Time and Re-partition and UNTICK Auto Reboot
Load TWRP but make sure it is the TWRP version for your S6.
Click start should do something like this. Should take about a minute. if that does not work drain the battery and do the named steps again if that fails I can not think of another way.

Yeh it wipes the flash drive of the current OS, then head into TWRP mode and flash a custom ROM from the S6 XDA sub, plenty of excellent ROM's make sure it can be flashed through TWRP those are easy.

Stuck on init last time I had that I drained my phone, then put it back into download mode while it being connected to one of my PC's. Charging part is just the phone not registering it software-wise.
