[Q] Remove specific app from Play Store list - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'd like to know if there's any way I can remove an specific app from the Play Store list, without uninstalling it. Or if there's a way to remove this app from the apps that are checked for updates.
The reason is that I have a Motorola Defy+ and I like the stock music player, which is just fine. There's an update called Tune Wiki which is, in my opinion, pure crap. So in order to install updates of all my other apps I have to install one by one, because I can't choose the option "update all" since it would update the music player too.
Hope I was concise and clear. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well. Benn testing this issue for ya here on my end. I am on the updated version. And sorry....no you can not remove installed apps. I may be wrong...but I can not find any way to make it more customized.

Well thanks for replying, now I know
Hope something comes up.

Yeah, tap on the app and uncheck the option Automatic Updates.

How can you remove applications you no longer want from the "Not Installed" section?

How can you remove applications you no longer want from the "Not Installed" section?
I've tried everything, through the web and on the phone I cannot seem to be able to remove applications I no longer use from My Apps.
This poses an issue when I first connect my google account to the phone, it wants to install EVERYTHING. I don't want this, some apps are from older/other phones I've used.
So is there a way to remove apps under your account/from the NOT INSTALLED section of "My Apps" in the Market?
This is not a cache issue for people who want to suggest that.
Thanks
No you can't.
Silly, isn't it?
Very!
Is there somewhere we can make a complaint/suggestions about the Market?

I agree, especially since there are older apps that have not been updated for tbe developer and just seeing them there is more of a annoyance, because you know they won't work.

[Q] Remove app from Android Market 'My Library'

So I use the Amazon app store and GetJar for free 'paid' apps. Some of these apps are showing up in "My Library" on my Google Android Market account. Is there a way to remove them from the Android Market account?
One recent problem is Wave Launcher which used to be free on GetJar. I don't see it listed anymore on GetJar and I can't even buy it from the Android Market since it thinks it's already purchased (but declines the 'install' saying it's not purchased). A 'delete' button like in the Amazon app store library would solve all of this...
Short of changing google accounts, I don't see any options on how to fix this. Anyone have any ideas? The problem is on my market library, not my phone (I know how to remove market links, etc.). Thanks.
I to have this problem its very annoying their has to be a way to clean it up.
I actually used the 'report' app function on the google market and got a reply back. They have "forwarded your case to a specialist to begin working to resolve your issue as soon as possible". We'll see what comes of it. Amazon's app store has a simple delete button in that library. It doesn't seem like that would be too hard to implement.
did you ever get a reply for this?
would love to be able to remove all the apps i just simply try for the sake of testing and i want them gone.....
listen to your users G!
I believe Titanium Backup can do this if you are rooted.

Go on...
You can "fix" market links with it by long pressing on the app in question.

On the website I don't see an option, but it is possible on your phone.
I am not sure if all versions of the play store have this option (I am using Jelly Bean 4.1.2):
When I open the play store on my phone I can remove previous installed apps from the list.
Go to: Play Store > My Apps > All
There you can remove an app by tapping the Ø icon

Yeahp. It works.
I deleted some yesterday on my mobile, but they were still on my web "Other apps in my library".
Today, I deleted some again and reloaded the webpage. They disappeared.
Thanks for the tip.
Ok, maybe it needs some time to sync. Great it works!

I have this issue as well--phone app has no provision for deleting the apps, on JB ROM.

[Workaround] Show only purchased apps in Google Play Store

Here is the file. Be sure to click on old market when you have it open, if you don't like it click on new market. Pretty straight forward. HOWEVER. It installed perfect for me but when I tried to get my apps up it would always time out. I think it is only because of my network though. So perhaps others should try it anyways.

The above posts both provide a workaround/partial solution. Here is my suggestion...
If you choose to try Old Market, when you launch it you can choose "old" or "new" market. It requires root permissions to work. After selecting which Market you would like, it will reboot the device and, once it is booted, the market you chose will be installed. Take note that I did in fact still see some free apps that weren't installed, but not all of them. Perhaps they were only the apps that were downloaded to this specific device/ROM.
That said, the "old" Market is indeed the very old V2 Market. I went back to "new" Market (V3), and it upgraded itself back to Google Play after a little while.
Unless you truly like the old interface of the Market, I'd recommend you go with CosmicDan's suggestion of logging in to Google Wallet and viewing your transaction history. This will give you a list of only the apps you have purchased. Unfortunately you can not install them to your device from there, but at least you can see only the apps you have purchased without seeing every app you have ever downloaded.

Is there a way to view only one's purchased apps in the new Play Store? The new interface for the My Apps section does not seem to have a way to do this like it used to, instead showing seemingly every app one has ever downloaded, with purchased apps mixed in (in no logical order).

Big time bump on this! They really do need to add a tab that shows purchased not just installed and history.
Just ran across this. Hope there is a fix in the works. Not being able to sort the apps is a major FAIL.
I let my son have my old droid and he went crazy downloading what looks like every free app offered....my mistake for not creating a junk gmail account. Now I have literally hundreds and hundreds of apps listed in my app section of the play store.
Bump, I would like to know also
It appears that even the app management section of the Google Play website doesn't have this capability. On the positive side, the site looks great! -_-
This is just wrong, when you've bought allot of apps and downloaded plenty of free apps.
There's got to be an easier way to see what you've bought and redownload!
Someone got a clue?

This is such a fkn annoying issue. BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The other thing is there should be a tab to multi select app installs so you aren't directed to the install screen and forced to start from the beginning of the main screen after you go back. If that is not an option at least add the ability to install "ALL" paid apps.
Why in the hell would we not get the option to see purchased apps only but we get the option to see "ALL" downloaded apps paid or unpaid. That's just fkn ridiculous
P.S. To anyone that is going to tell me to roll back or move previous apk versions to system/app or even use an app to do it for you and blah blah blah. I have tried everything.
The closest I got was using the apk I will attach for everyone here. Be sure to unzip it and move the file to your phone and use a file explorer to install it.

so I should be able to choose which market I want to use on the fly when I install this apk?
This has got to be one of google's biggest recent FAILS.
It's been like this for over a month now, and what seems like a very simple and basic fix hasn't even arrived yet. Do you all think they are even aware of this being an issue for us?

Not likely any time soon in my opinion. I'm quite positive that they knowingly made the decision to change (read remove) the list of only paid apps in the Play Store, in an effort to "improve" the app. Unfortunately.
.— Powered by Nexus —.
Another Google Fail just like the crappy resolution contact pictures that they refuse to fix. Thanks google for making have to make duplicate phone contacts and link everything. Also thank you for getting rid of showing only the paid apps.
Google has always been a piece of.. garbage, but as of late, they have just been, a piece of... junk..
Well, I do not think Google forgot to have that view. From their point of view it absolutely makes sense:
If you forget about an app you bought some day, you might end up buying another one, providing the same functionality later. And that is where they get money from, not you re-installing an already bought app.
It does not go too well with the "don't be evil" motto, but this was clearly a deliberate choice by Google.

I was aware of that, but it does not launch. Instead it immediately upgrades to Play Store as well.

The r2 works fine for me. I've put it to /system/app … I had to delete the app data to make it run again after a reboot, though.

[Q] Play store after root

I've followed the entire 'root the sony tablet' thing with interest and admiration for those involved. No idea how you did it. And when I can remember my paypal log in I'll send a few GBP to Condi.
And so with a certain nervousness I took the plunge and rooted my UK tablet and installed ICS using Condi's AiO tool. All went very well, tablet working fine.
Anyway I do have a couple of questions, hopefully someone has the answer:
First one, I installed the modded play store app from the AiO tool. It appeared to install, no errors reported. However after reboot it looked exactly the same as before. So should it look different to the UK one?
Second question, I assumed after root I'd be able to remove some of the Sony installed apps. Am I right to think that, is it possible.
Thanks in advance
Don't delete files that only makes your system unstable, but since you have ics you can disable your apps, in settings, but dont disable the question mark app because it will disable other apps too that you want to keep,
You must download Playstation Store from the insternet manually, search XDA forums,
This app is not downloadable for no one at least not from the market,
I don't want to disable any important stuff, I meant things like music umlimited for example. Is it possible to uninstall that sort of app
Not sure what you mean about the Play Store, I ran the modded play store app option from the AiO tool, but it didn't make any difference.
But thanks anyway
Oh sorry xD, I thought you ment the "Playstation" store, but indeed i did that too "Modded version" but that didn't work for me either,
You cannot disable Music unlimited, but yes you can uninstall,
Instal Rom toolbox free, and make a backup from the app, then uninstall that app, if you ever think you want to reinstall it again, then you know that you have a stable version on your own tab also if it gives you issues after deleting the app

[Q] Add previously installed apps to Play Store wish list...

Eyy guys,
I'm sure I'm not alone here... Sometimes I install an app, then decide I don't want it installed at the time but still would like to keep track of it. So ideally I would like to add it to the wish list after I have had it uninstalled.
This seems not possible, the playstore won't let you add an app to your wish list after it has already been installed.
Just wanted to check if this is correct or if anyone knows a work around.
Thanks.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that is not possible. I personally have tried many attempts.
Please let me know if you have found any method.
BTW have you tried clearing Market's data and tried?

Hi,
Bummer to hear that. I have tried clearing market cache and data, then reboot and it still can't be done.
Thanks for the reply.
I can't try this at the moment, but have you tried removing the app from the "Installed" list as well? You can access that from the side drawer > My Apps > Slide to the right.
Hi GermainZ,
Sure have. I have uninstalled the app, then hit the little 'X' in the "ALL" apps list (under "My apps"). Then cleared cache and data from Play Store app (through phone's settings), then rebooted phone.
Haha, it looks like it simply cannot be done.
Thanks for the reply.
Ps: funny thing is... after all those steps, the app still shows as "Installed" when I visit the play store on my PC.
Just go to my apps in the playstore and hit the all tab and your download history will be there
