Hi!
Need a help!
Recently I've tried to root my tab 10.1 p7500. But I failed. Then I've reinstalled my device.
Now, when I try to access the recovery, I get something different.
I no more have the 'update from your SD card.
But I have : update from external storage and update from cache.
Please help!
Here is some pic.
This is the factory recovery.
To root you'll need to flash a custom recovery.
Follow anyone of the numerous tutorials available and try again
i am at the same area. was just handed this device and cannot unlock bootloader. is there any updated ways to unlock the bootloader?
Because this is the factory recovery, that's why,
Go to droidbasement.com and download the cwm-based recovery, flash this via odin's pda slot, i think pershoot explained it on the site how you should flash it, BUT READ BEFORE YOU FLASH THINGS ON YOUR TAB!
Once you have the cwm based recovery installed, move the rom you want to install to your device and boot again in recovery, now you should be able to flash ROM'S via this custom recovery
If you have more questions feel free to ask
Edit: before you flash another rom, data/factory reset and wipe dalvik cashe via cwm recovery first
factory recovery.
flash an CWM with odin!

Hi,
Currently using latest firmware KI3 with root.
I'm able to use CWM, backup, install zips, everything.
However, if i install a ROM trough a ZIP, i get a boot loop.
Only way to get back the phone, it's to install via ODIN with latest KI3.
Even tried with Litening Rom, and got the boot loop.
Any ideas ?
I was very keen to return to CM7.
Tx in advance.
Did you exactly what's mentioned here?
Install via ClockworkMod (do not use ROMManager for initial install):
Make sure you're running a rooted device.
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1118693)
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition) - do it for real.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do not reboot! We mean it - do nothing except choose zip and continue next step (if you come back to us with permission issues in install, we will know you did not read the directions and will call you an idiot). If it just plain hangs, reboot directly back into ClockworkMod recovery and continue at the next step.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery, again (due to a bug in the install).
Reboot
Install the Google Addon through ROMManager which is easiest, but you can
download the gapps.zip and install via ClockworkMod recovery instead.

Did you try flashing a old stock ROM like KH3, root it then try from this base?
I went from Villain ROM 2.3.5 to CyanogenMOD without any problems.
It's essential that you flash CyanogenMOD !TWICE! in a row when you're coming from a stock ROM.
Thanks.
Gonna check, as soon as i'm @ 127.0.0.1
Same behaviour, back to boot loop.
Tanx anyway!
I had a similar problem so here goes my help.
Cf root kernel uses a modified version of CWM that isn't compatible with CM7 or something like that. So what I did was flash this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693. Get the kernel with CWM 5.x.y.z With that I got a compatible version of CWM and from there I flashed CM7. It is important that you do a full wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format \system, everything so you don't get any trouble. THen you flash the CM7 zip file, when tha t is done, flash the zip again for a second time (don't reboot just do it after the first flash). After that reboot. That worked for me at least.
A tip: If you can't reboot your phone and you have no ROM zip file to flash via CWM you can mount usb storage from CWM for putting the ROM in sd card and flash with CWM. That way you don't have to use ODIN to recover.
Tanx Tomas.
Tried with CWM 5.x.y.z and upon "WIPE" always got an error for mounting partitions.
Could't mount CACHE, SDCARD .....
Tx anyway.
Back to ODIN, back to stock 2.3.5
PS : I have to get a JIG to reset ...
ive got a mate ohone and it bootloops but i can boot into dl mode and normal recovery mode but i need to install a cwm recovery or complete system but by recovery zip file. i can clear data/factory reset and also wipe cache but thats it when i do boot it up it gets as far as the picture design then samsung word appears on screen but thats it please any advise welcome i cant get odin to detect phone for some strange reason even after installing drivers i just need to re flash new kernel but need guidance on how to use the flash tools as used to just downloading onto sd card and installing zip thanks in advance
Hello xda,
I've decided to root my xt910 and install cm rom. Root went smoothly however i had problems with the custom recovery. At first i tried safestarps but i couldn't flash the zip it keep aborting the installation :
Set_perm some changes failed. I've tried to install cwm 5.0.8.0 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751826 but i got status 7 trying to flash the rom after factory reset and wiping cache. Couldn't find in updater scripts the assert part that i need to delete to make status 7 disappear because of compatibility. I tried to wipe dalvik cache and formatting system which afterwards i manage to flash the rom. At the end i received message "if rom wasnt flashed on rom slot - 1 phone will not boot!!! This will be fixed soon. "
When i tried reboot system nothing boots. And when i try to boot to recovery i get to stock recovery although i had installed cwm.
Now i end of with a bricked phone. My questions are:
1. How can i unbrick?
2. I backed up nandroid with cwm but i cant acces cwm only stock recovery? Why is that and how can i get to cwm?
3. Why my phone is not booting? I did not flash with safestarps so it wasn't flashed on rom slot-1
4. I only have acces to stock rom, ive download a firmware update Jb 4.1.2 can i flash it with stock recovery to solved my brick?
Am i still rooted? Because i read i need to unroot before updating. How can i unroot if i only have stock recovery?
Please help!!! I can't afford lossing this phone!
Anyone? Please im not sure what can i do. Should i use rsd to flash fastboot or can i do anything else?
I tried installing back to noot v9 without back-uping on my s3 using clockworkmod and it gave me error status 7. I tried repairing it using odin and this rom stockroms(dot)net/file/GalaxyS3/i9300/stockrecovery/International-GT-i9300-StockRecovery.tar. Odin sais that everithing went ok and shows that big green pass icon, but everithing it did was to delete even the cwmr everything that remained being android system recovery. Also, it can't mount my sd card (I tried formating it as NTSF and FAT32).
PS: I don't know if my phone is original.
flash latest twrp
No. To be sure, that everything works, exec factory reset in samsung-recovery and reboot.
he have cwm, he should flash latest (cwm end suporrt in 2014 )
only twrp, that rom work for me
Android system recovery isn't CWM. CWM or TWRP aren't ROMs. Read&understand 1st.
read again rp158
he use default recorvery for repartition,
bisoros
check checksum rom.zip and flash custom recovery again, full wipe and try again
hi everybody.
my phone is booting every time. with odin i installed already twrp and cwm. with twrp I can just see the logo and then the phone is booting again. with cwm, i am able to see the menu but when i try to wipe the phone, the phone starts to boot again.
i installed cyanogenmod via adb but the phone is not starting android.
the last chance i have is to hope that someone of you have a solution.
i uploaded a video to show you what i mean.

Have you tried flashing a stock ROM?
yes. but it is still in the loop.
Flashing in Odin was successful?
After flashing the stock ROM, did you perform a factory wipe before booting for the first time?
thats not possible. i can boot to the clockworkmod recovery but if i choose the option "wipe data/factory reset" the recovery will be closed and the smartphone boots again and open the recovery.
1, download mode and flash an official stock rom (one package) via odin. Make sure it is for your device specifically.
2, Boot to official stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset. If the phone reboots after this you need to be prepared to key combo to download mode BEFORE it boots android.
3, Flash the official stock rom again.
All remnants of any previous roms will be gone and you should have a booting phone.

It worked with the stock recovery. Now I was able to install cyanogenmod. Thank you very much!!!
