OK, I've had enough with unlocking the bootloader and flashing kernels. I'M SICK OF WHEN I FIND A PERFECR ROM THAT NEEDS A KERNEL!!!
What's the best ROM (Android 2.3+) that has XPERIA UI and without flashing a kernel, and how to install it?
i used this one for a very loooooong time

Hi guys, first of all i would really like to know which custom rom is the best for my xperia x10, i would like it to be fast, but still stable, the animations should all be fluent (best thing would be a fast and very fluent 2.3.x) and "everything" should work properly, so not too many bugs and errors^^
Also, do i need an unlocked bootloader or anything to flash a custom rom?
I've got flashtool and pc companion installed.
My phone is a xperia x10 (as you may have guessed), its sim-unlocked and i've just recently updated it to 2.3.3 (with pc companion, so a stock and original sony erricson 2.3.3) and everything works fine, except that its slow and pretty much all animations are laggy, thats why i want to flash a fast and stable custom rom.
Thanks in advance guys, i hope you can help me
First of all you have to root Your phone. After that You have to Install xRecovery and You'll be ready to flash new ROM. Fastest ROMs are the stock based ROMs

I would suggest
1) wolf v7b6-simple and fast
2) ferlab- many 2.3.4 apps and great rom
3) shelly-it just like stock 2.3.4 but very fast
I actually really just want all the animations like changing the desktop page or timescape and the foto/video widget to run smooth, so which one is best in these matters?
Still thanks for the recommendations and how to install custom roms!
OK, i now rooted my phone and installed xrecovery, then i flashed (or installed) the full fps uncap and now its wayyy better
switching between homescreens and all the other animations are now very smooth, for the moment i'm happy with this, but i'll probably flash a custom rom sometime in the future...
I have a stock xperia P which I plan to run custom kernel and ROM like krabappel2548's KA, with the final target of custom ICS ROM.
The question is does it matter if i unlock now and goes custom GB kernel and ROM, or I wait and get official Sony ICS, then move to custom ICS?
My concern is will custom GB kernel and ROM made getting to ICS difficult and riskier?
Personally I think it doesn't matter, but it is better to ask.
No, it won't be any harder. You will just need to flash an FTW when it's out.
Hi friends,
I am pretty new to this forum and before a couple of days i did a research regarding Flashing Kernals and Roms(Dont knw whether my concepts regarding that is right or wrong) and currently i have installed Cyanogen 9.1 for my device. Now let me ask a couple of questions i have for you guys.
1.Will I be able to update my phone and bring back to old ICS firmware via SUS once i brick my phone(I have already unlocked the bootloader via fastboot method)?
2.Evrytime when i flash the Rom(say CM9) i used to flash kernal(boot.img) for the respective rom.Is this necessary all the time?
Will i able to flash a GB rom on ICS kernal(I am afraid to give it a test)?
3.Regarding CM9.1 which i have installed ryt now,I am satisfied with the performance, but i want a stable ROM wud make me happy with a better battery life unlike CM9.1.So could you pls suggest me a GB/ICS ROM which wud have a stable performance with descent battery life.
4.After using GB for a long time,i was very much addicted with the Phone pad kinda keyboard, but when ICS came into picture everything vanished,Smartkeyboard Pro is no gud,Touchpal is conjusted,i want the exact GB keyboard in ICS.Any ideas?!!

1. U need to relock ur bootloader to update ur phone through SUS
2.no need of of flashing kernel every time u flash...if its a stock based Rom u need a stock based kernel...
And u cant fhash ics on top GB kernel..
3.search around ray development forum and try some roms and choose which is best for u..
4.CM9 has a different type of keyboard..some stock based keyboard wont work...but Xperia s keyboard will work..

Hi all,
I have been trying out some JB based ROMs for the last month or so and I have decided to go back to ICS based ROMs but whenever I install a ROM, the phone keeping looping.
Now, I have tried 3 different ROMs and kernels, it doesn't make any difference.
BTW, flashing the stock 587.ftf via flashtool works but I want to install a custom ROM.
Help will be appreciated. Thanks
Anyone?
Make sure you got ICS kernel and ICS ROM.
Hey guys i want to ask how revert back my x8 to its stock ROM since i want to unlock the bootloader in order to change the kernels so that i can install a stable ROM that can be use daily without a problem... * please suggest me a good ROM*
But the problem is... Do i need to wipe the data and cache for that custom rom and restore the backup that i had made from xrecovery so that it can revert back to stock ROM??? Or do i need to download something like the stock Rom file(android 2.1 update 1) and then flashed it???... Please help me... I don't want to brick my phone...
My xperia x8 status:
Already ROOTED...
Bootloader is locked...
Running froyobread v023b rom...
Stock Kernels
Another question... Is the term of flashing something means installing something??? I don't get it...
I'm new in this field though... Sorry~~~
