Hey..
So I modded FB Home to run on all (?) devices, without touching build.prop or requiring root.
Tested on GNEX, NEXUS 7 emulators.
Download

Installation
• Uninstall original facebook and facebook home apps. If facebook is pre-installed then you need root to remove it
• Extract .rar!
• Install both APKs.
• Enable facebook home under facebook app settings.

Nahh. I was just browsing appbrain market and saw facebook home then I bump in to this thread and I just want to tell the op that you don't have to download fb home from xda anymore you can find it on g play but I'm wrong it is not yet compatible with desire x.
Lol I don't need facebook. I don't need to post my pictures etc so the world can see. I don't need to tell my friends what songs im listening to and what videos I just watched. I don't need to post pictures etc of places that I visited etc. No sir I'm not into that Bull****. I like to live my life privately

And that's you. Others just like to share each and every ( mostly boring and obvious ) moment. But that's their choice.
BTW, fb home is a good app to try,
if
You wanna waste 5 minutes.

I second you. It's a nice app to try.
But I couldn't stand the retarded comments and ridiculous photos shared by my deluded friends.
Uninstalled it immediately
p.s. If someone really wants to stick with fb home, then you better ask your dear friends to share HD pics. The low resolution ones don't look good on the device.

navmad

I dont like it...its too heavy and ugly and battery consumption is highly increased
I cant help myself, but i think is for kids only...
(no offense for anyone meant, call me antiosocial, but i dont really care for most ppl on fb, and with the other ones I am in a bit closer touch)
It's for Facebook centric girls.

Hi. Is there any way I could unsync or remove my facebook phonebook contacts from ny phone dialer. Half of them are inaccurate and the other half I don't call at all..
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
try to remove your fb account from the phone, maybe it works
go to People > Menu > View. untick facebook contacts.
Matt
Hi. Thanks for the replies but in my people app, the Facebook is already unticked. I doubt it lies in people as the unwanted phonebook does not appear in peoples.. I dont want to remove Facebook entirely as I still want it in HTC sense.

I've the same issue as well.
All i did was to uninstall Facebook for HTC Sense, remove Facebook application and walla, all my contacts went unsynced.
Since i needed Facebook,i reinstalled from Market but this time round,i ensured i did not sync both phone contacts with Facebook contacts.
Hope this works for you,cheers!

I think you can use Titanium Backup to back it up (I'm not sure). Or you can adb pull the HtcFacebook.apk from /system/app, push it back when you need it.

Hi there, I'm also having this Facebook problem - but where do I find the "People" function?
I'm using an Xperia X8. Cheers.
This isn't evo3d specific, but the facebook app really sucks. Is it just licensing that keeps someone from making a better one? I would pay for a FULLY FUNCTIONAL facebook app - something that lets me do everything I can do on the site. and I would like it to have total control over what I have to see in my newsfeed, because I don't care about farmville.
I just want push notifications on my EVO like my wife has on her epic

Good call on friendcaster. Way better!
idk if you remember the early facebook app that was out when the Evo first came out a year ago... It was HORRIBLE compared to what we have today, so if anything, we're doing alright compared to that. And that's saying something.
But I agree, I hate having to go to the site to reply to invites to events and whatnot, gets old real quick. I also wish that gawker sites wouldn't go to the mobile site in the stock browser, it won't let you watch any flash videos, and won't let you switch to desktop version of the site. /endrant
Yeah and I will also like to change my profile pic from the app, because even if you go to the site from your phone (in desktop version) it doesn't let you do it cause of the cropping of the pic which is impossible from the phone.

Stock FB app?? I have been freaking out cuz if there is a stock FB app on my 3D Evo...I cant find it!! Wtf?? Where is it?? Or why do you have it and I don't?? Anyway someone can upload the stock apk for me, please?
Thanks!
This time it didn't come pre installed as it was on the 4G, you have to go to the market and download it.
Yeah yeah, its a shooter and I'm not afraid to use it...
Idk what to say but here is Facebook home and it can be installed without root. Just normally install the apk

You need most up to date Facebook and messenger app along with the home app. I tried it earlier. Its awful. Facebook heads from the messenger app sounds cool though
Sent from my Incredible 4G LTE using xda app-developers app
I personally think facebook could of made it better, for example combining the actually facebook app and messaging app into the facebook home, not just launch the application like they have it

Its a real awful home launcher. But I tested the chat heads and its awesome if you ask me.

I don't have the HTC One in my hands yet but I am running Sense 5 on my HTC Evo Lte. Open up your gallery and click on the settings button, under the online services you should be able to unselect Facebook so that you don't have a million pictures in your gallery. Hope this helps.
There is currently no way to not have all those annoying FB updates in your gallery on the One. I posted on HTC's FB page about this issue, their response was to press My Gallery. This is the most frustrating thing about this phone. I didn't buy the HTC First because of the FB integration. Essentially this phone has the same downside.

Well, so I myself tried now these widgets... some of them are only for cash, and all of them want full access of fb (obvoisly)
If there would be anyone who could just sort of extract the usual notifications-bar out of facebook as widget it would be very cool...
