good job
antutu result without taking sd card io is 7357 with an amazing 3d rating
nenamark 1 is really awesome without cf3d and cf3d makes only 1-2 fps difference
nenamark 2 is pretty low but i can simply just say one thing "I DONT CARE"
can just say that its a really nice mod
gangstar rio was smooth as is is but smoother now
thanks man!
and i also see an increase in battery life i donno how!
I tried these mods on my WT19i, and these are my benchmark results:
Disabled CPU Rendering (1GHz): 7840
Disabled CPU Rendering (1.4GHz): 8688
I tested playing The Dark Knight Rises, and apparently, there are some small yet noticeable lags. I tried enabling CPU rendering, and it seemed to fix it - gameplay is 99% smooth. The new benchmark results are:
Enabled CPU Rendering (1GHz): 7564
Enabled CPU Rendering (1.4GHz): 8508
I'm gonna stick to having CPU rendering enabled, as I'm quite the gamer. Anyway, thanks for posting this!
Oh my god ! You all user of wt19i, sk17i etc, how could you all reach above 7k?
Mine stops at 5k. Please tell me how to do that? In this thread there are 3-4 methods, I am confused which one to apply? (i am totally a new guy,do not have much knowledge) will it work if I flash .zips? But which .zips? Plz tell me in detail.

Disabling cpu will not affect your gaming to much.
How to overclock :
1.Flash a custom kernel
2.Download SetCPU or No-frills CPU Control
NOTE: OC your CPU will produce some extra heat
So if disabling CPU rendering affects a little bit negative in games, where is positive?

Well, there was some discussion a while back about how our gpu supported opengl es-1.1 and would support es-2 with the eclair update. However, even with minicm 7, my device shows up in quadrant as supporting only opengl 1.1. I would like to find out what is going on and receive information about others' devices. Do they support opengl 2?

The problem must be with quadrant.

Just to further the discussion, our phones' gpu is awesome. 50 fps in the quadrant planet and moon 3d test. That is, however, with a non overclocked CPU. There is a bug where overclocking the CPU actually underclocks the gpu. If the devs are able to find a way to use their custom kernels to overclock our gpu, I am very sure that the 1600 mark in quadrant can be broken. Our phone would be absolutely smooth and might almost be as snappy as a desire. I can even get 1300 on quadrant when overclocked to just 768 mhz with 128 mb swap, supercharger v6, as card cache 4096 kb and compcache disabled.

What's your basis for that? I think actually that overclocking the CPU also overclocks your GPU.
It has been noted numerous times in doxianh's x8oc.ko thread that 2d and 3d performance is consistently lower in quadrant when overclock is enabled. Furthermore, people with overclock enabled at 600 mhz almost always get lower quadrant scores than with overclock disabled. When I enable overclock at 600 mhz, quadrant scores of 600 to 700 are shown. With overclock disabled, I get up to 900 on quadrant. Quadrant scores have been known not to definitely show the true performance of a phone, though. We should try to repeat this experiment with neocore and other fps benchmarks.

Bump? I'm a bit confused about our gpu.
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Bas on your analysis, it does seem so. I guess the Adreno 200 GPU needs a specific clock trigger to be of optimum speed, otherwise it will downclock to save power. It does make sense from a mobile part design perspective. So it seems the cpu core and gpu core are individually clocked rather than synced.
I think that they are synched, but are synched reversed- proportionally
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
is the score the same with downvolt disabled or enabled?
Undervolt, you mean? It should not have any effect on performance I guess.

Can someone in the know clue me in on what is really happening to our processors and how we can overclock the gpu?

Oh, and do you think there might be a way to overwrite this syncing thing such that we can make the clock speeds independent of one another?

This Adreno GPU update is ONLY designed to work on Qualcomm S3 ARM7 Devices running ICS.
Greetings, I have been on XDA for a long time and I hope that you all can benefit from this patch as we have over at the Amaze Forums. Here is a link to my Original Thread and evidence of this patch's success for our Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU devices running ICS.
We have proven that this driver Patch has doubled our GPU throughput for 2D and 3D rendering.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631223
I have only tested this on my T-Mobile HTC Amaze (Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU) and have not experienced any issues.
I have created this Recovery Flashable Patch to Install the Qualcomm Updated Adreno Drivers on the "Official Ruby ICS" release.
Qualcomm Developers Website
I did not get a screenshot of the results before flashing this, however I have seen dramatically improved result on my Quadrant 3D scores with "Force 2D GPU rendering" UNCHECKED in the Setting->Develop Options Menu of this ICS Release. With this option checked I have seen improvements on both 2D and 3D. Although results are slightly degraded for 3D from post update the 2D results have doubled in value.
Quadrant results were obtained immediately after restart to avoid any other processes interfering with the results.
AFTER "Adreno ICS Update" Screenshot 2D Rendering NOT checked.

I didn't have much luck with this on CleanROM ICS Edition.
Pre-patch, GPU rendering on, everything else default (no kernel change or overclocking), I got 2936 overall, 1006 2D and 1980 3D.
After the patch the overall dropped to 2336 and 2D to 1000, 3D went up a bit to 2098. I tried again with GPU rendering disabled just for the heck of it, and it went down to 2273 overall, 368 2D, 1967 3D.
For now I'm flashing back to the driver that's included in the ROM, but maybe this will work better with a different kernel.

2) when there is something to do, the cpu will spin up frequency up to the max. if required.

Oh yeah, thanks!
Will this work with GSM also?
I have both cores turned on all the time with system tuner -- is that essentially the same thing or should I use this instead?
I was thinking turning on both cores all the time would make battery life suffer but for the performance its worth it.

This is a single script called "init.qcom.post_boot.sh", that takes care of the cores of your device based on your needs (Performance, balanced or battery). So my guess, the script should work for both the CDMA or GSM
If you decide to use it I will highly recommend removing SetCPU because it might interfere with the setting in this script. There will be also no need for it since the script is editable and you can play with frequencies if you want to.

looking at benchmarks hell adreno200 is way ahead of whatever videocore you guys have

Reason is adreno200 has its sources and is used at its full power while VideoCore IV sources arent even released (i blame broadcom).... else i think VideoCore IV would get higher scores.

this are child stories that sources are not released.. samsung have full control over them.. and who said adreno200 sources ?? can you provide link ? all are closed source...whoever says don't have source blame them.. those things are only necessary to get cm7 not stock samsung roms
YEAH... I agree 100% with madman

OMG, you have better performance with stock rom than other people with a custom rom
i think custom rom from raj was still on the top... droidrazr
What are some good benchmarks for the Rezound? I want something that I can compare different governors and io schedulers
I know about Quadrant Standard, but i don't get much variation with it.
I used Stability Test in the past but all it did was run for a long time and make my phone really warm, I guess its just supposed to Run all the CPU's?

i think stability test is like prime95 but for your phone. it'll bench everything max to check the stability of the system till it crashes but if it doesn't crash than its stable. which you should only use if you wer testing overclocks or unstable kernels ect..
and i think a place called PassMark has benches for all phones. what benching app are you using???? ill can post my results so you can compare if you'd like
im using badass governors on both cores with Sio io scheduler
Antutu benchmark is a good tool to test governors / io schedulers / overclock

I usually get anywhere in the 2500-3100 range for Quadrant Standard, and I'm testing Antutu right now
I usually get 7000-7200
Never mind make that 7200 - 8000
I just got this running ecliptic rez and lunar kernel.
Ok.. Pics not uploading.. It was about 7900

okay did 2 tests. one with sd_ext and one with Sdcard settings in the benchmark app because i do have sd cache in kernel tuner which may effect results.
these are my settings:

Whatever came in my phone. After OC'ing, f-sync made the biggest improvement. My phone has near zero lag.

I'm guessing you mean f-sync off? Good for improving performance but high risk of losing data.

Yeah, fsync off. At the risk of jinxing myself I've not had one issue with loss in the several months since I started using it.
