[Q] Can't Network unlock i9100 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just updated SuperNexus (To V.2, Build 4) and my phone has re locked itself. Tried chainfire's S2 unlock app but it doesn't work, also tried to use the tool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1731931 but that didn't work either. Just keeps displaying that damn "Insert SIM Network Unlock PIN"
It's happened to me before too, but last time it happened I managed to get it working with the Samsung Unlocker/Patcher mentioned previously. Now it won't work either
Any suggestions? I have tried fixing permission on the nv_data bin etc etc nothing works. Anyone able to shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Auzeras

Tried GalaxSim Unlock app here on XDA?

Thank you!

By searching/reading/learning. Guides/tutorials.
Welcome to XDA! Please search this forum first. There are many threads here that will help u to root.

Before you even consider rooting, as you're running 4.0.4, do a FORUM SEARCH for eMMc brickbug.....it'll let you know whether you are going to turn your SII into a paperweight or not......
And when you've done that, head on over to the "general" I9100 section and look at the "sticky" threads.....you'll find all the info about rooting you could ever need.....

Always read the first 10-20 posts of any thread. If you had, you would have found DoomLord's statement:

Search for CF-Root kernels or custom rooted kernels (like Siyah/Dori)..
There is also a "Universal Rooting method" too. You can also find a method to 'Root stock ICS without flashing insecure kernel'..

So sorry mate, but I won't be there to answer every question you might have. I can only guide you. You need to do the reading and learning part.
Here's a good place to start.
Read this also.
Be warned against doing stuff without reading about it first. You might end up bricking ur device.

Maybe there should be a new rule for newbies who join XDA.. attend a short test or exam perhaps, with basic questions related to rooting and stuff..

Nah, let em learn the hard way. Much more fun to watch. I can count the number of people I've seen on here over the past 18 mths break their phones through bad luck on one hand. It's invariably their own fault. And it makes no difference how much you warn most of them. You can spot the ones who are going to bork it a mile away most of the time.

Ok.. to unlock, since u are rooted, use GalaxSim Unlock app available here on XDA.
As for STweaks, which kernel do have use now?
"To err is human, to forgive is divine"

EDIT: Im running.: 3.0.31-Siyah-s2-v6.0b4+ GalaxSim is needed to pay - I dont have option for that, Galaxy S2 Sim Unlock - Dont work, Galaxy S Unlock - also dont work, in step 2 ( Im think ) show message code is found but this is some black boxex and questionmarks instead of numbers, and following all steps dont unlock phone. So nothing for now
Check ur kernel by looking under 'Kernel Version' in "Settings - About Device".
GalaxSim Unlock is free here on XDA I think. Search for it. And don't forget to thank the dev.

This is so not happening. That is about the Playstore version.
Saw these lines?
The full featured version available here will remain totally free (I might update it in a few days to match the market version features). If you want to support my work, it's up to you to donate (or use the market version to stay up to date). Do not redistribute this version without my consent.

[Q] My phone froze while performing an official upgrade

Hi,
I have a Galaxy SII I9100G. Last night I tried to update my firmware (OTA) from ICS to JellyBean.
As soon as the update started, my phone froze (Its like me entire screen is filled with tiny green, red, blue, grey bugs) and nothing is working since then. I cant see anything on my device after i try to restart my phone.
I tried using the Vol Up+Home+Power button. But its still the same
I know that my display is working because the welcome screen on my phone appears without any problem. But after that I start seeing those bug like spots on my display.
Could someone please help me on this
Yours is an I9100G right?

When ur phone doesn't turn on at all, its called a 'brick'. When it turns on, but doesn't start up, its called a 'bootloop'.
In ur case, its better to flash the upgrade manually, then do a factory reset.
Can u get into recovery or download modes?
